About Dr Geoff Roberts

My wife and I moved to Seaton in 2016 as we wanted a place by the sea without the congestion of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth in the peak holiday season. Seaton, with its quieter pace of life is ideal for us.

Dr Geoff Roberts purchased this apartment in 2016

Why Dr Geoff Roberts chose Seaton

Seaton is situated between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, both of which are easily accessible within twenty minutes by car. The Lodge is ideal for people looking for a quiet base and wanting a peaceful break with access to the Jurassic Coast, and the attractions of both East Devon, Dorset and South Somerset. There are numerous local attractions within a short drive such as Seaton Wetlands for bird-watching, the Jurassic Centre, Seaton Tramway, the Donkey Sanctuary and other nearby beaches at Beer and Branscombe. There are many excellent pubs serving good food within the locality, and there are two golf courses nearby. The famous Haynes Motor Museum is a little over an hour's drive away and Clark's Outlet Village in Street is also accessible.

What makes this apartment unique

Quiet and cosy. The beach at Seaton and South West Coastal Path are a ten minute walk away. The Lodge makes an ideal base for coastal and country walking and relaxing in the hot tub in the evening after walking is a distinct advantage.

Really enjoyed out stay. Studio has all we needed. Hot shower. Comfy bed. All facilities we needed. Hot tub was welcome after being out all day. Enclosed area with hot tub was very private and quiet. Good base to explore surrounding area. Would definitely return.

Lovely bright and well appointed apartment in peaceful position.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 weeks in Seaton and were very cosy in this apartment. The unit had everything we wanted and was all very clean and light with a great private outdoor space (hot tub a bonus). Great walking in this area and close to places of interest.

Hosts were very helpful, great communication. Thanks Geoffrey & Mya

Lovely, peaceful and private

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a wonderful break in this amazingly peaceful spot. The hot tub was a treat that added a little luxury to our stay in this small, but perfectly formed apartment. Look out of the bedroom window and see the sea, look out towards the hot tub and say hello to some friendly sheep. The sea is just 10 minutes away with good walking on local beaches and hills. It would have been absolutely perfect if the sofa had been a little bit more comfy! Thanks to our friendly hosts who couldn't have been nicer. A lovely few days away.

So quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Geoff was a great host and showed us around as soon as we arrived. It didn't take long as the apartment is small but a very good layout utilises all the available space. The shower room was much bigger than expected. The kitchen area is well set out and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The two seater sofa and chair is comfy enough. Nice firm bed. Plenty of room in the chest of drawers and wardrobe. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer downstairs in a corner of the garage for guests to use. I cant comment on it as we didnt use it.The whole apartment was beautifully clean and well maintained. The hot tub was wonderful! Sitting in the lovely hot bubbling water at night star gazing and watching the occasional owl flit by. Close by are many lovely places to visit. We had a peaceful and restorative week here and were lucky with the weather too. We had no problems reversing into the drive. A big thank you to Geoff for making our stay in Seaton so perfect.

Excellent relaxing stay

  • 4 of 5

Very nice accommodation with everything required for a great stay. The hot tub was an added bonus and very relaxing. Sette and arm chair could be a little more comfortable for a longer stay. (Most evenings were spent in hot tub).

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

A reasonably priced, lovely place to stay - although it looks 'compact', it's a great use of space. We had a very comfortable stay with everything we needed for our weeks holiday in this lovey part of England.

There is a bit of restricted headroom due to the sloping roof, so washing up & having a wee (for a bloke) provided some challenges - Lol! , this didn't detract at all from our stay, It feels very light and airy but is a cosy place for a couple (and their dog) to enjoy.

The accommodation was very clean, and well equipped - managed to cook up some nice meals (try the wet fish shop at Beer (only a mile away) for some locally caught fish for a tasty meal).

There is plenty of space on the driveway for parking. But I'd recommend a three point turn to go out of the drive forwards.

The outside area is very private and quite a sun trap! - it's completely enclosed so was ideal for our dog to enjoy. And the addition of the hot tub makes a fabulous feature; sat in it at the end of an evening sinking a cold beer watching the stars is a great way to unwind. The hosts - Geoff & Maya are very helpful. There if you need them, but quite happy to just let you get on with your holiday if you don't!

There's plenty of information of what to do and where to go locally. Wifi can be a bit patchy - seems to work best in the bedroom, and struggled to connect in the lounge / kitchen area. In case of a rainy day, there is a selection of books and DVD's along with some games to play.

The town of Seaton is a short, pleasant walk down the hill. This is an ideal base from which to explore the Devon / Dorset coast.

The provision of milk, bread, biscuits & teabags was very handy for our our arrival.

We would have no hesitation in staying here again & thoroughly recommend it.

Owner's Response: It's great that you enjoyed your stay so much. We had the builders in shortly after your stay to ease the toilet facilities for taller people, so you should find things easier if you pay us a return visit.
