About Nuala and Nigel

We had been looking for a home in the South of France for many years and were won over by the incredible views. The house needed renovating which was completed in early 2016.

This house provides the perfect base for a family holiday, whether you are looking to relax by the pool in the sun, walk or cycle in the local woods or even maintain your fitness for your next triathlon With a heated pool the kids will have hours of fun too. The terrace provides panoramic views and beautiful sunsets over the vines. In the winter, when the nights are cooler you may want to move into the sunroom to enjoy the views with the heat from the log burner.

We are happy to accommodate mid week bookings through most of the year to allow you to benefit from cheaper flights.

Nuala and Nigel purchased this villa in 2014

superb accommodation with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a family group covering 4 generations age from 80 down to 2, and this house hit the spot for us; it is generously apportioned so we had space to spread out and nicely furnished but not to the extent that we were worried about grandchildren ruining the furniture. The pool is lovely.

There was an internet connection problem while we were there, but the support provided by caretaker Sarah was excellent and the issue was quickly resolved.

It's just a 20 minute drive into Carcassonne (which you can see in the distance from the terrace) - we would have no hesitation staying here again.

Wonderful part of France, and lovely house!

  • 5 of 5

Great house! The pool was lovely, and the views from the main bedrooms and the veranda were beautiful. Very close to Carcassonne airport and only 1 hour and 40 mins from Toulouse, so great accessibility. Just a shame that we couldn't access the tennis courts which were just a short walk up the road. They were empty every time we drove past and we love to play!

Thank you to Nigel and Nuala for being so swift with any enquiries we had. Highly recommended!

Delightful, wonderful views , well equipped, superb pool , a wonderful house for a family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We had a superb holiday, the communal spaces inside and outside the house were many, varied and all with spectacular views. The pool was excellent with good shade. Two of the rooms were amazing. Superb decoration, spacious, lovely modern tiled floors. The air con in these two rooms was very quiet and effective. The bathroom and en suite toilets and showers were beautiful. Living area a good size , well equipped. Kitchen was surprisingly small but adequate. More large pots would have been appreciated for the size of our party. The other two bedrooms were ok. The main balcony /terrace is large with stunning views. We had a lovely holiday. The area has such a lot to offer. We enjoyed a day canoeing, Carcasonne city itself. A visit to Chateau de Pennautier. A beautiful anniversary meal in le Jardin en ville in Carcasonne new town was a hidden gem and a great find. Collin's, Aragon for a coffee or glass of wine and lovely view was appreciated. We would certainly choose this property again ! A wonderful time was had by all :)

Fantastic property in a quiet, country location with spectacular views

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in June-17 as an extended family of 7 (5 adults, 1 teenager and 1 baby) for 10 nights (Sunday to Friday).

The property is well maintained with good facilities and a great location with views south to the Pyrenees. The location is good for Carcassone and the airport (both about a 20 minute drive away) and within reach of Montpellier, Narbonne and Perpignan (under 2 hours by car).

Aragon itself is small with only 1 small store - the local bakery was a brief 5-7 minute drive away in a morning rather than a short walk but this wasn't an issue for us.

Communication with the owners before our visit was good and the weekly linen change and regular pool clean was as advertised.

The only small downside to our stay was that some roofing work/maintenance had been scheduled for our penultimate day (between 3 and 7pm) and we had not been notified in advance. If this had been mid-holiday it would have been a significant issue as it was very noisy and caused disruption to our baby's sleep. As it was, it was inconvenient but thankfully we were departing early the next morning when the work resumed at 8am. This is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.

Overall we had a great time here as a family and would happily recommend staying here to friends and family.

Owner's Response: Dear Andrew I am glad you enjoyed your stay in our home. I am sorry about the builders. We had very specifically told the builders not to come to the house whilst guests were there- in fact telling them to leave the work until October. The first we knew of it was when they sent pictures of the completed roof- by which time it was too late. I wish you had let us know when they arrived and we would have told them to stop. Thank you very much for this feed back. Best wishes, Nuala and Nigel

Spacious house overlooking village of Aragon, vineyards, and views of Pyrennes

  • 5 of 5

Lovely beginning to our families two-part holiday in SW France. This lovely modern home accommodated our group of 7 including adult children and significant others easily. We enjoyed sunny warm weather for mid April allowing dinners on the patio in waning sunlight. The location was central to all that we hoped to see and do in the region with short drives to Carcassone, Cathar castles at Lastours, hiking in the Black Mountains around Caunes-Minervois, and a visit to Montolieu to browse the bookstores, not to mention a few winery visits. Strolls through Aragon were enjoyed by the elders of our group while the young went on long runs along the trails in the area. All of these short trips took us through luscious rolling hillls of vineyards and lovely villages. The house always welcomed us back with its amenities, equipped kitchen, and relaxing ambiance.

Lovely holiday villa in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Our extended, grown up family had a great holiday in this lovely villa. It is within walking distance of a lovely little French village (Aragon) and just a few miles form the Airport and Carcasonne itself. Views from the various terraces and balconies are fantastic and the pool is an ideal size for a full family. The support staff offer help if you have any questions, but everything is arranged for a perfect holiday, highly recommended.
