We have visited and lived on Amelia Island for more than twenty years and have found it to be superior to every other ocean-oriented destination we have visited along the east coast of the U.S.. Family friendly, breathtakingly beautiful and abundantly relaxing, we highly recommend Omni Amelia Island Plantation to others. We hope you find it to be as memorable a destination as our family has!
The Owner purchased this villa in 2008
We love the ocean. When we get to visit Amelia Island, we spend at least six hours every day surfing and playing at Huguenot Memorial Park. We park on the beach loaded with everything we could possibly need that day.
This villa was perfect for our needs! It was close to Huguenot. It had a private courtyard to keep our surfboards safely outside. After spending the day on the beach, coming "home" and heading straight to the rocking chairs on the screened porch with an iced coffee was wonderfully relaxing!
Then, my two teenage daughters would help me cook dinner. We would all sit around the dining table surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and re-live our day and make plans to go back the next day. (Did I mention we love the beach?!) One evening we were able to entertain our friends for dinner, Jim and Debi who own Fort George Surf Shop. They, too, were impressed with the villa.
The kitchen was great, had every small appliance and gadget you could need. The dishes were beautiful.
Everything was clean and high quality.
Even the drive to the villa through the resort was amazing with all the live oak trees canopied over the road. We truly experienced a vacation!
Oh, if you arrive after dark, get clear directions from the security guard. It's like driving through a dark jungle if you aren't familiar with the resort!
We have done several vacation rentals in the last several years. This one was perfect! The condo was private, quiet, and clean. At the same time you are close to the beach, restaraunts, activities, etc. We also loved how many trees and green space there was throughout the community. We would highly recommend this condo!
I was overwhelmed by the beautiful vistas of the Intracoastal Waterway off the back deck. From the kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom, you have incredible views of the salt marsh. Additional living areas are the screened-in porch or the back deck which are both very spacious and attractive. Even though there were families that stayed on either side of me, I never heard any noise from anybody. Only the chirping of tree frogs and the songs of the native birds. You can gaze for hours at the beautiful salt marsh birds in the distance off the deck, heron, egrets and cranes. As you glance up from your book you can always be surprised by the beauty of the pretty sailboats passing by in the distance!
This condominium is also so nicely furnished. You have all the comforts of home. The beds are so comfortable. The sheets are soft and the mattresses are perfect. I have never, ever, slept so well, even in my own home!
Although close enough to take advantage of Amelia Island's other attractions, the condo was so comfortable and relaxing I felt I never wanted to leave my unit except to take leisurely walks to the salt marsh at Drummond Point or a short bike ride to the beach. The beaches are beautiful and you can walk for miles along the shore or body surf in the waves.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and comfort or a romantic respite... this is the place!
My wife and I just spent three weeks in this lovely condo. The setting was very nice with great views and very quiet and peaceful. The condo itself was decorated in a very new and update manner and was as nice as anyone's home. So while staying here one doesn't feel like they are in a rental but in a nice home that is well taken care of. The other nice thing is that it comes very well equipped. We never lacked for anything as we have at other rentals. Plus the condo owner gave us some of the best service we have ever had in our long years of renting from the internet. Not only did she make sure before we got there that we had all the information we needed but checked on us via email to make sure all was OK while we were there. Amelia Island Plantation is a beautiful place at one with nature. This condo is on the quiet side of an already quiet resort. We have stayed at rentals from VRBO all over the US and this has been one of our best experiences so far.
We have just ended a delightful long term rental at this villa and enjoyed every day there. The photos on the listing are current. It is even lovelier "in person". This is an end unit with it's own driveway and entryway, so it's private and easy to access. The spacious screen porch and open decking in the rear allow great views of the intracoastal and marsh which are stunning all day, but especially at sunset. The interior is comfortably, but elegantly furnished so that you feel that you are in a lovely home vs. vacation rental. The house is well-equipped for cooking and entertaining and is spotless. This is a quiet section of Amelia Island Plantation with mostly property owners in residence so it's peaceful, but plenty of fun for a family with children as well. It's a great location for cycling, fishing, golfing-Drummond Point is a block away with a playground and nature trails. The villa's owners are gracious and most accomodating. We would stay here again if we hadn't just built a home on the island!
