Situated nearly 2,000ft up on a mountaintop, this new villa offers stunning views in every direction; of the mountains, orange lemon and almond groves, villages and farmhouses of Southern Spain and distant views of the Mediterranean. Spectacular tranquil location safe for all the family. 45 mins from Malaga airport. A wonderful location for almost every activity you could mention, and an even better one for those who just want to relax and enjoy possibly the best views they have ever seen. The house is 10 miles from the coast where you can swim visit the local markets or shop. The local village of Riogordo is just 4kl away for your local shopping.
Although it is on the top of a mountaintop, we have only light and much needed winds come through each afternoon.

Quiet roads, astonishingly cheap local prices typical activities could include walking, climbing mountain biking, riding photography with water sports and golf down on the coast. There are hundreds of fascinating tracks and paths and revealing views everywhere. At the end of the day you can watch the sun go down over the mountains or visit one of the many local hotels, restaurants or bars.
Baby sitting and catering can be arranged for you at a further local cost.
Just back from a wonderful weeks holiday at La Tierra de Rosa!
The villa is spacious, clean, well designed and equiped with everything you might need for a self-catering break.
The setting is incredibly tranquil, on the top of a hill surrounded by almond trees, with breathtaking views over the region. The photos on the site really don't do the place justice at all.
The location means you can truly escape from the world if you want to .... we wouldn't have seen or heard a soul (apart from Judi who came to clean the pool and check we were happy) if we hadn't decided to venture out to explore the region.
We visied many of the local towns and found them to be picturesque and inhabited by friendly, helpful locals. A highlight was a religious procession/festival on our last night!
We dined out on several occasions (the food being wonderfully traditional and delicious every time) but were equally happy to return and make good use of the BBQ (having picked up some wonderful pre-marinaded meats from the local supermarket in Riogordo), admiring the views while we ate.
The pool was clean and perfectly positioned and the pool area well equipped - perfect for cooling down although the wonderful breeze from the mountains made topping up a tan easy!!
A really perfect holiday, which we would certainly recommend to others!
Another fantastic holiday in this superb villa, this is now my third visit to this location and certainly not my last.
Owner is especially helpful and Judi the local contact made sure we had everything we needed to ensure a relaxing time. The villa itself is equipped with everything necessary for a stress free holiday.
Riogordo is a small town situated 3kilometers from the villa and has friendly local bars, shops and post office. A short drive to Velez-Malaga and you find much larger supermarkets if you need to stock up for a couple of weeks.
There are numerous Spanish villages and towns situated nearby and exploring these during the week made this holiday a wonderful experience. Having said that we were just as content to stay at the villa and enjoy the amazing views from this mountain top location, the private swimming pool was in perfect condition and Judi visited us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.
We cannot recommend this location highly enough and will be rebooking for June next year.
Thanks you again Lynette for a fantastic and most welcome break from the UK.
Roy and Katie.
superbe maison un petit paradis pour les amoureux
Situated on top of a hill with 360 degree mountain views, La Tierra de Rosa is surrounded by olive and almond trees and beautiful wild flowers. There were swallowtail butterflies flitting around the terrace and just down the lane we encountered beautiful bee-eaters (birds we had only previously seen on BBC nature programmes!). The perfect rural retreat.
Lots of places within close range to visit, whether you want a short stroll or a mountain hike and a first class restaurant within walking distance down the track.
From the terrace you can see La Maroma (2065m high!) - there is a marked trail from El Robledal if you fancy hiking to the top!
An indulgent soak in the fabulous Roman thermal bath at the Balneario Spa Hotel in Alhama de Granada is an experience we will remember (photo 15 on their website - best to pre-book). 25 euros each but worth every cent. There are free 'baths' outside as well.
We had a great holiday and hope to return some day.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the villa for a week at the end of February. We went, primarily, just for a break and we were not disappointed. The villa is very private and has everything you need to "down tools", wind down and relax. The views are superb and even though it is very quiet, the main road is only a short drive away so you don't feel completely out of it! Free view tv, wireless broadband and a decent selection of books were particularly useful touches at night time - especially at that time of the year. It goes without saying that you need a hire car. Should you venture out, then Granada, Nerja and Antequera to name but three, are easy day trips to make and the quality of the main roads are, generally, very good. A comprehensive grocery store situated on the outskirts of velez malaga is also straightforward to get to. One evening we treated ourselves to a lovely meal at "the Fountainhead" restaurant - only a 5 minute walk from the villa!! Any queries we had were promptly dealt with by Lynette and Judi - and dealt with well. I suspect my girlfriend and I will be back soon!!
Had a wonderful week here. Breathtaking views!
The villa was all that was promised - clean and well-maintained. The gardens were blooming and you could reach out and touch the almond and olive trees.
The local town of Rio Gordo is a short drive for supplies. We drove to the beach in Malaga, ventured to the top of the next mountain to see the old Moorish town of Comares and visited a local restaurant.
I would and have recommended this villa to anyone wanting a relaxing and fun holiday in the sun.
The Location of the villa is ideal for either a quiet holiday or one where you visit the many attractions in the area. There are some wonderful hot springs in Granada del Hambra an hour away over the mountains. Granada and the palace is an hour away on the motorway. There are caves at Nerja which are worth a visit as is the town of Nerja. Lake Venula is 10 mins in the car where you can eat and enjoy the lake or walk around it.
There are many things to do and see in the area and you will find a book in the villa with some idea's which might help you to fully enjoy your stay.
Judi the lady who looks after the villa will be please to help you if you have any problems, she lives in the village and knows the area very well, She is also English so no problems being understood.
Golf: There is a new golf course just opened about 30 mins away, you are able to play as a day guest. It is called the Bavella golf course, It has 16 holes and although l do not play myself lm told it is a good course where you can get easy tee off times. There is a club house for that much need drink after.
All along the coast line there are many golf courses and most of them would take you no longer than an hour to get to them
Ski: It would take you about one and a half hours to get to the slopes and can be done in one day with no problems, the skiing is not difficult, over night accom can be found at quite a cheap cost, should you want to do a couple of days.
