About the property

Luxury, spacious holiday accommodation with enclosed garden and sea view

This spacious and comfortable house sleeps up to 8 people and is situated within a five minute walk of the beach of Perros-Guirec on Brittany's Pink Granite Coast. All of the upstairs rooms have sea-views and both reception rooms have French doors opening onto the garden with its beautiful view of the sea and beach. The main reception which incorporates the kitchen and dining area has a pleasant open-plan aspect while the second room has comfy sofas, a charming stone fireplace and shelves full of books and games. The house is very well appointed and with its excellent location should provide everything you need for a perfect family holiday. There is a fourth ensuite double bedroom downstairs This is spacious but has no sea view.

Local Activities: The beach next to the house offers water sport activities such as windsurfing, sailing and kayak hire. There are also tennis courts next to the beach and during July and August there is a children's beach club and trampolines. The area has many lovely coastal walks to enjoy and for golfing enthusiasts there is an 18 hole course within a 10 minute drive. The location is particularly scenic and a good way to appreciate the spectacular coastline is by taking a boat trip around the coast and islands.

Children's Activities: There are plenty of activities to keep the children amused if you fancy a change from the beach. At Tregastel, there is an indoor swimming pool and an aquarium. Nearby at Pleumeur-Bodou, there is a Gallic themed village with a boating pond, many unusual attractions for children and a covered restaurant. The same area also boasts a planetarium which has commentaries in English during the summer months.

Beautiful Brittany

  • 5 of 5

We stayed twice at this property and we thoroughly enjoyed both trips.

The location was great our for trips to the beach during our summer trip and there's excellent cycling opportunities nearby.

We also visited in November - we took full advantage of the real fires. The big kitchen table is a great feature and is very conducive to late-night chats over a glass or two.

I'd highly recommend the property for it's location, character and fantastic views of the bay.

We're hoping to return there for another memorable break very soon.

Perros-Guirec Holiday Home

  • 4 of 5

Overall the property was fantastic! We were only two adults and two teenage children, so we had lots space. The house is unremarkable from the outside, but truly charming inside and exceeded all our expectations. Our only quibble would be the uncut grass and the poor condition of the garden furniture.

The location, however, was a disappointment - not the beach, which was lovely, but the overall tastiness of the shops and restaurants - reminded me of Margate!

We enjoyed our stay, the house was super, but we would not rush back to the area.

Luxury family home on the stunning granite coast

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely home during the late spring earlier this year. When we arrived at the property after a long journey from the UK we were instantly impressed by the comfort, space and stunning views. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well equipped with all mod cons. We loved the fact that it was open plan and we could see the kids playing in the enclosed garden whilst we prepared meals. If the weather was good(and this year it was), we ate all our meals in the glorious garden, at a beautiful secluded spot, overlooking the Perros Guirec bay. When the sun went down the grownups could relax in the huge lounge, chatting and lighting the log fire if a chill was in the air whilst the children watched a movie in the adjoining living room. Bedrooms were comfortable, well-appointed and we loved hearing the sound of the waves ‘breaking’ on the shore as we drifted off to sleep. As you might expect the food was of a high standard, there was so much to choose from including French, Italian, Japanese and Britton Crepes. There were 2 supermarkets within a 2 km drive and fresh bread & croissants were baked at the local bakery in the village.

The owners had thoughtfully left a packed list of recommendations, including walks along the granite path to neighbouring villages, local markets and towns that were in a radius of 30km. There was so much for us all to do, sports, tennis, a spa and boat trips but when the sun was bright the kids loved nothing better than to walk through the ‘secret passage’ down to the beach and play!

We will be returning..

reality is even better than picture

  • 4 of 5

We spend a lovely week at this very nice house. The location is really perfect. The view is very beautiful. Just a 5 minute walk down to the beach and boulevard. The house itself is nice and spacious as is the nice garden. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood, a real place to relax. There's a lot to do in the region. Lot of touristic information and tips are provided by the owner. One remark for the owner: white clothed diningchairs don't come handy, especially wth little children, but for the rest its a great place for families with (little) children!

Great Time in Perros-Guirec

  • 5 of 5

A lovely light, roomy airy, comfortable house with fine views over the beach. The house is immaculate but was very homely and we would have happily stayed another week.

There is no shortage of fine beaches nearby each of them with a perfectly reasonalbe cafe or restaurant nearby. I am told that the beaches can get crowded in peak season, but in May we had many of the beaches to ourselves. It may be that the french definition of 'crowded' is different from ours.

The weather can be unpredictable, but when it is good it is excellent!! It can change from bright sunshine to fog in thirty minutes, but don't let this put you off. The beaches, the red granite and the paths are just as exciting is poor weather as sunshine. The good days were just perfect.

The markets are always exciting especially the large one in the beautiful medieval town of Lannoin. I regret not spending more time in the town itself. There are several other markets in easy reach.

The house itself is well set up for families. There was an excellent selection of toys and puzzles that kept our two and three year old children occupied when they needed 'down time'. The garden is enclosed and totally safe with sufficient garden toys and there is a DVD player. We also had a sixteen year old with us who made full use of the basement bedroom giving her the option of total privacy when she wanted.

My lasting memory: eating dinner with that amazing view.

Klassisches Bretagne-Haus mit Schwächen

  • 2 of 5

Owner's Response: We were very sorry to hear that these guests felt our house in Brittany was not well presented. From what I can gather with my limited German, the reviewer said that the kitchen was not clean on their arrival and she had to start the holiday by cleaning, This should not have happened and we have spoken to our cleaner to ensure that it does not happen again. Also, if I understand correctly, she said that the rubbish had not been collected from outside, It would appear that previous guests had either forgotten to put the bin out for collection, or had left a lot of rubbish on their departure. This could easily have been rectified if they had asked the person who manages the house for us, to remove the rubbish for them. We will however, ask the council to provide us with an extra rubbish bin so that the problem should not arise again. The other major complaint was that the house was damp. This may have been a problem on this occasion, as previous guests had blocked one of the toilets, despite having been asked not to put anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. As a result of the blockage, the garage and basement were flooded. We thought it had all dried out and been rectified but there was maybe some residual dampness. It is wrong, however to say that the whole house is damp. The rest of the house, which is by far, the majority of the living space, is dry, bright and airy. The open plan kitchen, dining room and living space is flooded with light, with windows on both sides and french doors leading on to the garden, It is absolutely not damp. Nor is the adjacant large living room which is airy and spacious, with a double height ceiling and french doors leading on to the garden. The 3 upstairs bedrooms are small but bright and airy, with lovely views looking on to the garden and sea. We have never been aware of any problems with damp. I am sorry, that these guests were not happy with the house, but it is not a description of our lovely Breton house by the sea that we recognise. Nor indeed is it a view that we have heard from any of the friends, family and guests that have stayed over the years. Most people love staying, and many come back year after year. We will take note of the complaints and hopefully the house will not disappoint again but continue to provide a lovely base for a Breton holiday next to the sea.

The beach of Trestraou in Perros-Guirec is considered to be one of Brittany's finest. The sand is beautifully soft and the swimming is very safe. There are several shops, cafés and bars next to the beach while a 2 minute drive leads to the main town area and port. The famous coastal path running from Perros-Guirec to Ploumanach and beyond is just a five minute walk away and offers stunning views of the pink granite coast. There are some spectacular rock formations to be seen along the coast, most notably in Ploumanach, Tregastel and Trebeurden, all of which also have good beaches. If you fancy a change from the beaches, the medieval towns of Lannion and Treguier are well worth a visit.
