Lovely cottage set in stunning scenery

  • 5 of 5

There were 5 of us in total staying in Primrose Cottage, 2 adults, a teenager, a birthday boy who turned 11 on our last day and a Working Cocker. The house was perfect for our family, the bedrooms were a great size and both had comfortable beds, the views from both bedrooms were fantastic. The Bathroom was a great size & with plenty of hot water & lots of towels, we were well catered for. The living room was perfect for reading a book or sitting around with a glass of wine in the evening (there is a TV but we were on a digital detox!). The kitchen was where we spent most of our time, it had everything you needed, including a lovely sized table for playing monopoly or dominos. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need (including a cafetière which is a must in our house!). The wood burner was amazing (even in August) for a chilly evening. The back yard was perfect for Ted, I was a little dubious about sharing this, but you share it with a holiday let so it was fine (our dog did get on with next doors). There are 2 outhouses 1 with a washing machine and one which housed 2 bikes, which the boys used to explore the area. There is a lovely 4 mile walk from the front door up the steep hill opposite and looping back to the village (there are some helpful OS maps to guide you). The village itself was lovely and great to be away from the bustle of Hawes, which we all loved. We ate at the White Hart and got take away pizzas from the pizzeria in Hawes (both thoroughly recommended after a day in the Dales). We all fell in love with this part of the world and will definitely be back, and will be staying in Primrose Cottage again.
