Wonderful stay in the Spring sunshine
As a family of 4 (2 boys, 12 and 14) we had a lovely stay at Gill’s cottage. With beautiful views across the hills, we spent many enjoyable hours in the Spring sunshine being entertained by the lambs. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We spent most days out for long walks, many of which either directly from the cottage or within a 15-20 minute drive. Would highly recommend!

Highly recommend
Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Gill was so welcoming, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We found this cottage was the perfect base, with lovely walks on the doorstep, and plenty of attractions at around an hours drive away, we had something to do every day. My children loved the sheep and learning all about them from Gill who was more than happy to tell us. I would without a doubt return to the golden slack cottage.

Great location for walkers and sightseers!
It is a beautiful barn conversion on the working farm. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable for 4 adults - whatever the weather! Fantastic views over the Cheshire Plain and across the hills of the Peak District. Good walking straight from the door and plenty more with only a short car journey. Also easy access to Cheshire to keep everyone happy! The owner is very friendly and welcoming and provided loads of information about local attractions. We had a great holiday and would highly recommend!

Cozy Cottage in the Clouds
We stayed over Christmas since we have family living close by. The Christmas tree that Gill put up was a welcome sight, & we had full intentions of using the wood burning fireplace but never had the chance. The home was a lovely respite to come back to each evening after our hectic days with family. The morning views are delightful when the clouds lifted. A treat to be in a remote setting with no urban noise & local sheep as the noisy Neighbours!
