About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Quay Cottage has been completely restored to an excellent standard providing an exceptionally comfortable holiday home in a peaceful, creekside location with easy access to the south and north Cornish coast. Standing detached, this charming cottage fronts on to the tidal Fal Estuary with private quay access and floating jetty. This is a truly remarkable setting with stunning views over an idyllic tidal creek. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty directly backing onto National Trust owned woodland, yet only about 4 miles from the centre of the cathedral city of Truro with theatre, cinema, bowling, restaurants, museum and shops. It is equidistant from the busy port and beautiful beaches of Falmouth with its prestigious marinas, National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII. Falmouth hosts numerous high profile maritime and food events throughout the year including an Oyster Festival, Falmouth Week and sailing events to name a few. This is a walker’s, sailor’s and wildlife enthusiast’s haven. The immediate location is just a short distance from the sub-tropical Trelissick Gardens. Enjoy miles of delightful walks, or take the King Harry ’drive on drive off’ ferry to the shores of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula including St Mawes, with its imposing castle, mirroring Pendennis Castle on the opposite side of the estuary. Visit picturesque, charming villages with many quiet secluded beaches. There are pubs at Pennelewy serving great food and local ales. Take the cycle trail from Devoran on the south coast to Portreath on the north coast, along the old tram line (local cycle hire is available). Garden lovers are spoiled with the sub-tropical gardens at Trebah and Durgan close by. Fishing available (licence required). Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
