About this property

Situated in a strategic position halfway between Florence and Siena the castle S. Andrea a Cellole is within easy access of all the most important tourist sites, yet immersed in the quiet of the countryside where the birds sing and in the hot summer evenings the fireflies glow. Far from major roads and motorways the only sound you will hear is the odd tractor ploughing the vines.
What better way to spend a relaxing holiday in our mature garden , taking a dip in the large (12X6 m) pool and sunbathing on wooden sun loungers with mattresses, lunching under the shady pergolas or just sipping a glass of wine, or perhaps reading a book under a shady tree.
With both Florence and Siena little over half an hour away by car what could be easier than sightseeing the wonderful art treasures that Tuscany has to offer, returning in the latter part of the day to enjoy a quick dip before dinner in the garden or a foray out to one of the many typical restaurants in the area… of which still very good value.
Cottage Murlo is a spacious two bedroom cottage for up to four people. Entering on the ground floor through glass doors from the garden is the spacious fully fitted kitchen /dining /sitting room. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one twin and one double with high beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. The bathroom is ensuite in the master bedroom, and has a bath and shower.

Exterior Details The large 12X6M swimming pool is situated in the garden facing cottages Murlo and Polvereto and is equipped with loungers and chairs, there is a stone built barbecue and all the cottages have their own patio with pergola and are furnished with teak garden furniture.

Further Details Cottages Polvereto and Murlo can be rented together making one large cottage with three double bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Wonderful holiday

We stayed for a week mid-September and it was fantastic! The location is perfect, rural but within easy reach of Siena, San Gimignano and Florence. The property is spotless and stocked with everything you need and the owners couldn't be more helpful. Thank you Adela for a wonderful, we"ll be back

Wonderful relaxing property

We stayed here for a week during a three week touring holiday in Italy. Adela, Mauro and Marzio made us very welcome but without being intrusive. The location is away from the main roads but by no means remote from a selection of restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive, and all major Tuscan attractions are easily accessible. Relaxing in the peace and quiet of the beautiful grounds with the excellent pool was a real highlight of our holiday overall providing the perfect balance to some of the busier locations we visited. We look forward to returning when our travel plans next take us in this direction.

Lovely off the beaten track romantic property

For those who want a romantic away from it all stay this property is superb. Beautifully restored by the owners with a lovely outdoor pool and only two other guest properties it really was perfect for us on our honeymoon. Within easy travelling of Florence, Siena a car is a must but in terms of relaxing this was perfect. The owners are very helpful and happy to recommend any visits, restaurants that you may require. All in all a stunning break and highly recommended.

Amazing host, amazing property

We stayed in cottage Murlo for 10 days, me my husband my mum and Auntie. From before we arrived Adela the lady who owns the property was absolutley amazing, from her directions to her property to telling us where the nearest supermarket was was just spot on. When we arrived we were greeted by Adela who showed us to our spotless accommodation which had everyting you would want. The pool was spotless and was cleaned every morning and most days we had the pool to oursevles which was great. During our stay we visited Florence, Siena, Pisa, & San Gimignano Adela told us the best places to park in each of these places which really helped alot. A Car is definitley needed if staying here but not too far to the local village to pick up your essentials or have morning coffee and a pastry which we did most mornings when not out sightseeing. Whilst you may find that owners staying onsite with you whilst on holiday a little off putting haveing Adela and her husband on site was great and really helped us thoroughly enjoy our stay. will definitley recommend staying here and will be returning at some point in the future. Thanks for a wonderful stay Adela.

Why they chose this property

It took an age to find the right property. There was always something wrong with each one we found until this one. Our guidelines were, no near neighbours, no main road, no through road past the property, no electric pylons , fabulous views, near enough to nearest town for comfort. We found it!!!

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet are the best way of describing Cellole. In the summer months the odd tractor ploughing the vines can be heard in the distance otherwise its just the crickets chirping in the garden thay you can hear. The views are stunning from all angles to say the least. Within less than ten minutes you are in Tavarnelle where there are shops, restaurants, atm's and all other requirements.
All the main tourist sites such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano are a short drive away making this an ideal place to explore Tuscany whilst having a peaceful environment to relax in away from the crowds.
