The West Lodge is a delightful little detached country cottage with its own large private garden. It is comfortably furnished with two bedrooms, cosy sitting room, dining/ activities room bathroom with shower and new kitchen. To either side and behind the garden are the mature mixed woodlands of Kinblethmont estate. The West Lodge is set back from the road with a lovely large mature garden all round the house containing shrubs and plum trees. The garden is open to the road however there is a walled in area for small children/pets (the wall is about 2 foot tall). There is also outdoor seating and a BBQ. Behind the house is a farm road that leads through unspoilt woodland into the heart of Kinblethmont estate. There there are woodland walks and the 2 acre walled garden (about 1 mile away) with children's play area, badminton, table tennis and ball games. There is a bus stop near the cottage for buses to Arbroath (approx every 3 hours during day time) and Letham Grange golf course is just opposite.

well equiped, warm and cosy.
the cottage was in a beautiful setting with amazing walks just outside the back door
I am so glad that these guests enjoyed their stay. There are lots of woodland walks into the centre of Kinblethmont estate just outside the back door. Lunan bay just 10 minutes away by car is great for a walk at any time of year and dogs love racing round on the beach.
We enjoyed our holidays in this homely cottage, nice und helpful contact with the owner. Lots of attractions around Arbroath, many good notes what to do and to see in an informative booklet in West Lodge. We would recommend this property exspecially to families with kids.
Quiet cottage within everything you could need.
Great location to stay. The cottage had everything you could need. The little cycle path to the garden was lovely. We visited Arbroath, Luna bay and Montrose from here. The cottage was reasonably priced. Will visit again.
I am so glad that these guests enjoyed their time at the West Lodge. It is very well placed for visiting many local attractions and beaches. If you don't want to get in the car there is lots of walking on Kinblethmont estate - including to the walled garden and up to the top of Kinblethmont hill.
This is the second time we have stayed at West Lodge in Kinblethmont and we cannot recommend it enough. The cottage was spacious enough for my husband, my 2 boys and myself... my parents came to stay too and there was loads of room! The walled garden is the area my 10 year old loves most in the world... The owner kindly gave us a pass to park at the garden. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. The owners are very accommodating.
We will definitely return!
Thanks for a fab holiday.
I am so glad that these guests enjoyed their stay in the West Lodge. We love it when our guests return. The walled garden is about a mile from the West Lodge so it is easily walkable but we are now giving West Lodge guests special permission to park at the walled garden. The road leading to it is a farm track so may be a bit muddy if it has been very wet but otherwise it should be ok for most cars.
What a lovely cottage. Very nice.
First sight looked good, a wee quaint cottage, not far from town yet on its own in the countryside and perfectly private.
This is the ideal recluse. Nobody to bother you and all your own space, and lots of space, both indoors and outdoors. Yet, within a short time, you can drive to lots of different towns and some excellent beaches. There are good walks too from your doorstep, including the estate and grounds.
Best of all is just the peace and quiet in your own home-from-home in what seems to be the middle of no-where.
The cottage looks deceptively small from the outside but is actually like a mini tardis once you enter the door. It has everything you may need from spoons to wi-fi (although the spoons are a bit better than the wi-fi - remember it is the countryside).
if you are single or a couple or a have a couple of kids or guests or want to bring your dog you will be happy here.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a 5 star hotel but any faults are normal for a family home.
So, if you are looking for good quality accommodation with all you need for a stress free, relaxing, self-catering holiday then this, in my opinion, is perfect. I heartily recommend this and would be happy to return.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for us. We hope to see you again in the future
Charming, cosy cottage, with everything required
A really pleasant stay in a lovely cottage, it has everything required and suited all ages - from grandparents to one year old granddaughter. Garden was a lovely place to sit and watch the hundreds of butterflies we saw. Definitely recommended.
The West Lodge has a cosy , slightly old fashioned feel to it and is the perfect place for children and grandparents to enjoy. The garden is very large with some rather unruly areas but there is an enclosed area adjoining the house so you don't need to worry about little ones (or dogs) escaping. It is a great place for nature lovers, there is a long walk out into the estate from the back of the house where you can sometimes see deer at dawn or dusk. There are lots of butterflies and birds in the garden.
Bed linen and towels (1 set per person per week) are provided.
Please bring your own beach towels.
Heating and electricity are included in the price.
There is free wifi (approx 2 Mbit).
We allow up to 2 dogs in the property
