About the property

Just a 5 minute drive or bus ride from the centre of Sorrento, this ground ...

The perfect garden apartment, just outside central Sorrento

Capo di Sorrento

2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom; 2 bathrooms

Sleeps 6

Just five minutes drive from the centre of Sorrento, Il Dolce Rifugio is a charming ground floor apartment for six people.

It lies within what was once a grand villa, now divided into separate apartments, each with their own private garden.

You will enjoy the lovely views over the Gulf of Naples. Local legends tell of mermaids living in these blue waters – a myth that is easy to believe when you witness the beauty of the coast!

The gardens

Il Dolce Rifugio boasts lovely outside space. There is a large patio area, with a sofa and chairs, plus a swinging seat for three. A large awning is available to protect you from the heat of the day.

There is also a heated Jacuzzi pool. From here you can enjoy the lovely sea views, whilst relaxing with friends.

Planters provide greenery and splashes of colour from brightly coloured flowers.

Why not light the barbeque and enjoy a delicious meal al fresco?

The living accommodation

Decorated in a modern, tasteful style, the house has crisp white walls and cool tiled flooring throughout.

There is a spacious open plan living area, with sitting room, dining table and kitchen.

The sitting area is spacious, with a large comfortable sofa  plus a flat screen satellite TV. Decorated in calming natural shades, with displays of local crockery and finds from the seashore, it is a relaxing place to unwind.

The wooden dining table is next to the kitchen, and can be extended for a larger party.

The kitchen is decorated with traditional tiling in neutral tones. You will find a hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.

A door from the kitchen leads out onto the patio, where there is access to a washing machine.

Central heating is available for the cooler months, chargeable at 5,00 Euro per m3.

There is also an internet Wifi connection.

The sleeping accommodation

Also on the ground floor are the two double bedrooms, plus a twin bedroom with two single beds.

All three bedrooms have air conditioning, plus a ceiling fan, to ensure you sleep comfortably on the hottest nights of the summer.

The two double bedrooms have plenty of storage space. The first has a window, and the second has access to a balcony with simply stunning views across the shore to the sea beyond. Relax at the table and chairs and simply soak up the atmosphere of this special part of the world.

The spacious twin bedroom has doors opening out onto the patio, allowing you to stroll outside and breathe the fresh air upon awakening in the morning.

The two bathrooms are modern in style, each with a shower, wash basin, bidet, toilet and hairdryer.

The surrounding area

You will find plenty of parking spaces just outside your apartment, but if you don’t have a car the property is close to a bus stop providing links to and from the centre of Sorrento. There are buses every 15 minutes. You are also 3 km from Sorrento Train Station.

Just a short walk from your villa are the Regina Giovanna public and private beaches.

Also Nearby are the historical Roman ruins of Villa Pollio and Bagno della Regina Giovanna (Bath of Queen Joan). These luxurious seaside villas were built by elite Roman politicians, on sites that they felt offered the most exceptional panoramic views.

When you stay at , Il Dolce Rifugio you will be following in the footsteps of the Romans by staying in one of Italy’s most exquisite coastal locations.

Please note, there will be a final cleaning charge of € 70, added to the rental period at time of the booking.

From 1 April to 31 October the Municipal Council of Sorrento has instituted a mandatory tourist tax on all temporary residents. A tourist tax of € 3.00 per person per night (for guests 18 years and over) for a maximum stay of 7 nights must be added to the total amount of the stay and must be paid in cash on arrival.

Our Recent Stay

  • 4 of 5

Six women shared the Villa during our recent stay in Sorrento. The location was great, down a side street and a short bus ride away from the downtown area. Close to a small local market, coffee shop and travel office. Right next to the Villa was a wonderful walking path to many beautiful ocean view stops/lookouts with a quaint restaurant/ sun bathing area at the end.

The villa inside was large, plenty of room, very clean, fresh and bright. Rooms accessed lovely view balconies with seating. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Villa.

We did however have a couple if issues which were attended to fairly quickly. The hot tub was not working, was cleaned & serviced shortly after we arrive, however, did not heat up so we did not use it. The second bathroom toilet was not working, but again was repaired after a couple of days. The dishwasher is older and did not clean very well and the outdoor patio area was not very clean and the furniture/ bbq is older and worn.

Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and the property manager contact was very helpful with information and our requests.

Nice but lacking attention to detail

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is in a wonderful building in a wonderful setting with lovely views. The apartment itself is comfortable but lacking the little attention to detail that would take it from nice to outstanding. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if I could. There is only one shower really, the second being a hand held shower unit over a bath. A couple of things were broken or nearly broken. The hot tub however was lovely as was the outside seating area, we enjoyed several evening meals outside. I would recommend it as long as you're not looking for a 5 star luxury apartment which it could easily be if a few things were tweaked. It was quite easy to get the bus in to the town and there was a little local shop at the end of the road which was very useful. The apartment rep/key holder was very nice if a little lacking in time keeping skills!
