Our Hanover Hideaway self catering apartment is on the second floor of a handsome Georgian building on Hanover Street, in Edinburgh’s New Town, just off Princes Street – the city’s spectacular and trademark shopping strip.

Its stylish interior has been designed by an award winning interior designer. This three bedroom luxury apartment is elegant, exceptionally spacious and is flooded with natural light. The Castle views from the apartment and the knowledge that you are right in the heart of the city with cultural attractions, trendy bars, restaurants and shopping galore right on your doorstep will surely tempt you out each day – but safe in the knowledge that you will be returning to a stylish retreat in the heart of the city.

ou won’t be lugging your suitcase for long if you are arriving in Edinburgh by tram, bus or train, as the beautiful Hanover Hideaway is right in the heart of the city in Hanover Street, just off Princes Street.

After entering through the impressive front door of this elegant Georgian residence, you will find a contemporary apartment flooded with natural light and comfortable, stylish furnishings. With three double bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with two single beds) and two bathrooms, as well as spacious living/dining areas, it is particularly suited to families or groups of friends looking for space to socialise whilst still affording privacy to every guest.

To complement its Georgian heritage, the interiors are stylish and well proportioned, with all the comfort of home.

The living/dining room, the décor of which has a contemporary Scottish twist, is the perfect place for sociable and relaxed evenings, with its comfortable seating and spacious dining area. You will find everything provided for cosy nights in, including digital TV; a DVD player with a selection of DVDs; a feature fire; a music docking station; free wifi; and some board games for when you just want to cocoon yourself in for the evening after an exhausting day of exploring the city’s many attractions.

And we’ve not forgotten the importance of winding down for a good night’s sleep. We provide plentiful fluffy white bath towels; well fitted bathrooms with luxury toiletries; and comfortable beds with the best of Egyptian cotton bed linen – all giving you a feeling of a boutique hotel suite.

But the Hanover Hideaway apartment also gives you the added benefit of independence and flexibility. The contemporary, fully fitted and large kitchen is well equipped, including a dishwasher, washing machine and everything you need if you opt to prepare a meal in for the evening. Tea, coffee and delicious locally made shortbread are all provided. We even provide picnic blankets in case you wish to enjoy your own culinary delights in the green and open space of Princes Street Gardens, just a minute from your door.

There is a small car park within a 5 minute walk of the Hanover Hideaway. It holds about 10 spaces and nearly always has one or two spaces available. The price is £12 for 24 hours.

The car park is close to both properties and also many facilities such as the OMNI Centre, St James Shopping Centre and the Edinburgh Playhouse. The price is £18.50 for 24 hours.

St. James Car Park, Edinburgh, EH1 3WW

The car park is very central and within a short walk of Hanover Hideaway. The price is £15.20 for 24 hours.

Why Melanie chose New Town

In terms of location, this property couldn't have a better position in the city centre. It is more central than any of the hotels! Despite that, due to the fact it is on the third floor, it means that you don't hear the noise from the street below and can enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. it is immaculately presented and I am sure you won't find a better apartment in the city!

Beautiful getaway in the heart of New Town

My family, 4 of us, and I stayed for 4 nights in this wonderful and beautiful getaway in the heart of New Town. While it was in New Town we were still only a short walk from Old Town and the Waverly train station.

The apartment had everything we needed as a homeaway from our own. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Edinburgh.

Try dining at Howies on Victoria, great local food and Cafe Adulz on North Bridge, delicious Spanish tapas with an amazing view of the castle while you dine (in the back room).

Great time in Edinburgh before Christmas!!

Our family of seven had a great time in Edinburgh just before Christmas staying at the Hanover Hideaway. This apartment was perfectly located to explore Edinburgh on foot and is specifically located between Princes, Rose and Greorge Streets for great shopping and restaurants. Edinburgh’s Christmas market was a delight and we could pop over in minutes by foot from Hanover. The apartment was very clean and spacious for a large group. Access to the building and apartment are by code and as such was very convenient for my family.

We were disappointed with a recommended restaurant (the Printing Press on George Street) which was expensive and very weak on every aspect of the meal. Thanks Melanie!!

Wow

This apartment is a must for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh. It's right in the heart if the city but as it's on the top floor, quiet enough to feel like your a million miles away. My family and I enjoyed every minute of this beautiful place which had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. A true home away from home and we will definatly be back. Thank you Melanie x

Great Location and really clean and well equipped

My daughter and I loved the central location as we could walk around visiting different sites, return for a relaxing break and then head out into the city again. The apartment was extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable and the quality of bedding and towels was definitely up to top hotel standard.

One point to mention is that you are in the center of a city so there is noise through the night but this did not detract from our stay.

When I return to Edinburgh I will definitely stay here..

Wonderful location for Waverley Train Station and just off Princes Street. Excellent bedroom view of Edinburgh Castle. Elegant décor, good sized rooms. Immaculate cleanliness and comfort. Would highly recommend.
