Cape Cottage - 1st Tier, 4+Bed, 5 Baths, Elevator, Shared Pool, Screen Porch

Be our guest at our beautiful custom built home. Our First Tier, Gulf View home (fabulous views of the Gulf from the 2nd and 3rd floor decks, both master suites and all the living areas) is just 40 steps from the sugar white sand and 30 steps to a 18’ x 36’ pool. This 2600 square foot home boast 4+ bedrooms, 5 baths, large bright living room, and dining room, den(kid zone or 5th bedroom), fireplace(non functional) and elevator and semi private pool (shared with two other homes).

Cape Cottage sleeps 10 comfortably and furnished to make you feel at home. There are two master suites with king-size beds and private baths, the 3rd bedroom has a queen bed, and the 4th bedroom has four twin beds. In addition, there is a 13’ x 11’ den or (5th bedroom) with TV/DVD and queen size sofa/sleeper. Cape Cottage has plenty of space for gathering and quiet spots for reading. You can relax in the second floor screened-in deck or lounge in the sun on the third floor deck.

Special Features: This home is truly beautiful, if it meets your families sleeping requirements you won't be disappointed. We have beach chairs for at least 8 and beach toys for the kids. See our 'Cape Cottage' Facebook page for more pictures.

About Dawn Lounsbury

John and Dawn welcome you to our home. We have been vacationing at the cape for over 18 years and have owned property on the cape for 12 years. In 2008 we purchased Cape Cottage because of its great location on Haven Rd. We are first tier but share an oversized beach front lot with 3 other homes. The boardwalk to the beach comes right to our back door making beach accessibility terrific and the screen porch is to die for. Hope you enjoy as much as we do. Dawn and John

We chose this home because we wanted to be away from the busy roads and congested neighborhoods. We wanted to be first tier to better protect our home from the wear and tear of those gulf wind.

Notes:
We are a pet friendly home and we do have an elevator for those who need help with stairs. The kitchen is completely stocked with all the tools you need for your favorite feast and don't forget the margaritas. For your entertainment we provide 5 TVs, DVD players, books, games and puzzles. To stay connected we provide wireless, high speed Internet access. And for your convince we have washer & dryer on second floor. We also include beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and boogie boards. Pool is shared with two other houses.

Great space for a getaway

We came down with 4 adults and 4 kids and had a wonderful time. The space and layout of the house is perfect for 2 families bc of the 2 master bedrooms. Everything is as advertised in the pictures and would completely recommend this property to others.

Cape Cottage Doesn't Disappoint!

This was our fifth year staying at Cape Cottage and it was probably our best - which is saying a lot! We love Cape San Blas and especially like staying in a home that we are so proud to share with our family and our friends. The home has everything that you could ever wish for in terms of spaces, kitchenware, beach and pool "toys" and fabulous touches. The owners are very accommodating and easy to get in touch with, if necessary.

We love the location right by the Trading Post and not too far out on the Cape - especially nice for running over to pick up some of the Cape's famous fresh-made doughnuts. Our favorite feature of the house is the dining room area with its banks of windows, high ceiling, and the wonderful large, round table with its center lazy susan. Such fun for eating and/or playing board games with friends.

Nothing negative to say about this precious home. We plan on coming back for many more years!

Wonderful

We have stayed in five different houses on the Cape and this one is spectacular. The layout works really well for the family to gather, but also have their own space. This home is very well equipped. We particularly liked the nice beach chairs and the second refrigerator down stairs. Thanks for the great week.

Lovely house design, Lovely siting on the island

What a wonderful home. The design is so thoughtful with its charming views from all windows and even from the kitchen sink. Washing dishes was a pleasure. I could look at the sandhill flora all day. The open main floor was perfect for our two families to visit while cooking, setting the table, snacking at the bar, toasting the day. We all loved the dining room with its stacked windows and round table for gathering. The placement of the palms at the decks and bedroom windows is inspired, giving privacy, botanical charm, and beach sounds from the wind in the palm leaves. We could have spent hours and days on the decks alone, but the easy dash to the beach had us coming and going to the water easily and steadily. We were traveling with a family from Germany, and they were simply knocked over by the house, its location, the easy walk to the beach, the privacy on the beach. This was a grand stay. How nice to walk to get donuts fresh in the morning or to pick up a few things from the local market. We appreciated the beach accoutrement, all of us able to borrow a beach chair, sand pail and shovel. Everything was indeed well stocked and clean. What a house. What an absolute treat. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Relaxing Christmas at the Beach

Beautiful home just steps from the beach. The house was very clean and well stocked when we arrived. Loved the screened in porch and views from the top deck. Perfect layout for two family's with children. Perfect house for our family to spend our first Christmas at the beach. We will definitely be back in the summer.

The Pictures do not do justice...

A wonderful home with a walkway to the beach. The elevator made this 3-story home so much more enjoyable. One house back from the beach was NOT a problem. I would go back again tomorrow!

Cape Cottage is located three miles from St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. The park has 2516 acres and was rated the #1 Beach in the United States by Dr. Beach in 2003. This slender Peninsula of sugar-white sand includes a 1700 acre wilderness preserve. Enjoy Hiking, boating, swimming, snorkeling, shelling or just beach combing. Also available on the Cape are horseback riding, boat and kayak rentals, bike and scooter rentals.

Other activities include surf fishing and a paved three mile walking and bike path that leads to St. Joe Peninsula State Park. Port St. Joe offers shopping, charter fishing, dining, shopping, and golf. You can't miss historic Appalachicola, for top notch shopping and dining as well as the National Estuarine Research Preserve. For a taste of the local flavor stop by the Raw Bar at Indian Pass one of our personal favorites.
