Overview

About the property

House on the beach . Stunning sunset views, hot tub, sauna, gardens, wifi, SKY.

Our holiday home is called Clach Mhor which is gaelic for Big Rock, one of which is situated in the garden and makes an attractive focal point, the other is situated in the middle of the Irish Sea- called Ailsa Craig and it offers a stunning sun set view.

The views from Clach Mhor really are amazing- the sunset photos show the view of various sunsets. The sky puts on a different magnificent display every night to enjoy with a drink!

The sea views can be enjoyed from most rooms and from 3 different decks in the garden behind the house and another two seating areas in front of the house. The view changes by the minute allowing you to enjoy watching the seals, the sunset, fishing boats or birds diving for their dinner.

The house actually sits on the beach with nothing between it and the vast blue Irish sea. It is situated just outside a tiny village called Lendalfoot, in a very quiet position.

There are two lounges, one on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the sea. This lounge is so close to the sea that it actually feels like being on a boat without any sea-sickness! The lounge has a bar area with large wine fridge for that cold glass of chardonay or gin and tonic while watching the sunset. If you ever get bored of the view there is a television with SKY, Netfix, Amazon prime and NOW TV.

The second lounge is on the ground floor and is very cosy with a log stove. It also has a large television and a tiny view of the sea from a tiny window. There are also excellent views of the garden from large picture windows.

We have SKY, SKY movies, NETFLIX, NOWTV and with notice can provide SKY Sports free of charge. There is excellent fast btinteret with unlimited downloads.

The kitchen/dining room is very well equipped with everything you could need. fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, microwave, nespresso coffee machine and so on. Dual aspect windows give you a lovely sea view to the back and a garden view to the rear. The kitchen has a dining table for 8/10 and there is also small additional study area just off the kitchen. It offers a PC with printer.

Overlooking the sea with large patio doors this cosy neuk is just perfect for relaxing with a good book.

The utility room offers a washing machine and tumble dryer and is a convenient place to dry any wet boots or coats.

We sleep 8 adults and 2 extra children. There are 2 king-size bedrooms both with sea views of course! One has an en suite shower room and the other is adjacent to the family bathroom. One is upstairs and one downstairs. There is also a king room with an extra bed for a child only. This room overlooks the garden.

There is also a detached studio in the garden with an infrared sauna in a separate room and a studio bed sitting area with double bed, television and Lshaped lounge seating. Its all on the one level, is heated and has the most wonderful sea views.

The house offers extensive seaview gardens with 3 decked areas, one for dining with a BBQ, another for lounging and a third for quiet naps or reading a book.

Stay at Clach Mohr and be lulled asleep by the noise of the waves, watch the sun set over the sea from the deck or the balcony. Or for an extra touch of luxury have a glass of bubbly in what is probably one of the best located hot tubs ever!

The Ayrshire Coast, known as the Scottish Riveria for its wonderful climate, is a wonderful place to enjoy a holiday or a quiet few days away with everything from castles to theme parks within an easy drive.

The house is ideal for a large family, extended family or 2 families to enjoy the area. Its simply perfect for grandparents to holiday with their families giving them the option of a studio apartment all on one level with the most marvellous views to retreat to.

Outstanding!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a July week at this amazing house! (2 adults and 5 kids) the house is very quirky, a home from home , with luxurious touches - our favourites being the tv bed and the hot tub! There is more than enough space to accommodate everyone together but equally time apart if needed! The garden and sea views are it’s best selling point, you could spend hours sitting and watching the sea go in and out... the kids had the rare freedom of going down to the beach and jumping the sea waves (literally to the rear of the garden!) whenever they felt like it! It is very secluded and feels like your own!.. if more entertainment is required for the children (although you could stay the week and never leave the house/garden!) Girvan can be driven to in just over 5 minutes, where there is a lovely big beach park beside the harbour, soft play, arcades and an amazing chippy (Grazianos) Fiona the owner is lovely and so helpful!! We will definitely be back again soon!! 😁😁😁

Owner's Response: Many thanks for staying and enjoying it! This part of Scotland is so overlooked with everyone rushing to the highlands but the views are the best here! Fab that you visited Girvan too. Be great to host you all again and you xan be sure to find some extra treats!

Beautiful property in the most amazing location.

  • 5 of 5

We were blessed with the weather and so were able to make full use of the garden and outdoor decking areas, all of which look out over the sea to Ailsa Craig and Arran. On our one less lovely day, any time spent inside was in the upstairs sitting room with balcony - again giving the same amazing views. We watched seals, and a family of otters playing in the sea and catching fish to eat on the rocks. The kids loved playing in the sea, and we all enjoyed some time in the hot tub. There was also plenty to do in the area - we took a trip to Portpatrick and down to the lighthouse at the Mull of Galloway which was great. The Galloway Forest Park is also worth a visit. The owner was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions promptly. Can definitely recommend this beautiful holiday home. Wish we were still there . . .

Wonderful!

The reviews and photos do not do this wonderful place justice!

We recently stayed for a long weekend with our dogs and had a fabulous time - The house is clean and incredibly well equipped, and the views are breathtaking, particularly from the upstairs lounge.

It was the ultimate luxury to sit in the hot tub looking out towards Ailsa Craig as the sun set, and we cannot wait to return...
