'LES CYPRÈS' is a true taste of the Provence! A restored stone cottage, 200 years old, with walls 3 feet thick, cool inside in the summer. There are all modern cons for a perfect self catering holiday. The house is set in 2 acres, and surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The closest property is 200 metres away, and the nearest quiet country road is 500 meters away. Incredibly romantic and calm, a perfect honeymoon hideaway! In the old provence tradition, the stone stairs to the bedrooms are outside. The restored stone pool, heated to min. 25°C, chlorine free, is not overlooked, and is for the private use of the occupants. 'Les Cyprès' is calm and peaceful, yet only 3km from the lively village of Cotignac. You can swim in the pool, you can sunbathe or just do nothing at all ! The rental fee includes everything (bed linen, beach towels, cleaning stuff, toilet paper, BBQ gas etc.). Sorry, you have to buy your own food and wine ;-) YOU WILL LOVE LES CYPRÈS. C'EST UN PETIT COIN DE PARADIS.
You will fall in love with 'Les Cyprès' in its tranquil setting. The only thing you hear from here, is the sound of crickets and nature. It's a little corner of Paradise! At 'Les Cyprès', you really do whatever you want : enjoy a good book by the pool, take a walk in the beautifull nature, make a bicycle tour along the beautifull Provence hills, visit one of the numerous beautifull villages, make a day excursion to the 'gorges du Verdon' or the 'côte d'Azur' which are just an hour away or ... just do nothing.
From 1st May to 31st september, the pool is heated by heat pump a minimum of 25°C.
You can easily go to the village for your croissants and baguettes. Cotignac is a beautifull village with nice restaurants, different good shops (bakeries, butcher, ...etc) to buy your daily groceries. Every day, you can find a market in the neighbourhood where you can buy several Provence specialities, fresh vegetables, cheeses, salami, ...
In Carcès is a great supermarket with a superbe meat and fish department
If you feel a little more energetic there are plenty of walks from the house, and you can explore the surrounding tracks and paths, either on foot, or by bicycle. In the spring the wild flowers are glorious!
The village has a bouledrome, tennis courts, a fitness trail, and a children's playground.
There is horse riding, fishing, sailing, kayaking, climbing, diving, & golf all within a short car ride away. There are wine tastings at the local domains, & evening feasts & dancing in Cotignac & the local villages. Probably the best is Barbaroux, at Brignoles, only 25 minutes away. This area is also a paradise for bikers, on- or off-road, the possibilities are unlimited.

The first thing that strikes you is the silence and ofcourse the beauty of nature. You get totally relaxed after staying in this house/area.
The house is nice and comfortable, the swimming pool great and everything that you need to make it a pleasant vacation is available.
Beds are comfortable, kitchen is practical and fully equiped and the outside terraces give you the opportunity to eat outside every time.
You don’t have to worry about the practical side of your stay as the owners taught about everything. (even a BBQ)
The environment offers you plenty of options so you get not bored easily.
Cotignac is a lovely typical french village with lots of pitoresk bars and restaurants.
Great place to stay!!
TIP: You certainly have to taste the grapes on the vineyards in the environment, they are delicious.
My wife and I had a fantastic week in Cotignac. The cottage is beautiful, set in large grounds with a heated swimming pool. The house is clean and well maintained, and perfect for relaxing and as a base for exploring this part of Provence.
Cotignac and the surrounding towns and villages are all very picturesque, with markets in one of the local towns most days of the week. We also visited the Gorges du Verdon and Lac Ste Croix, as well as Tourtour, Aups, and Brignoles.
Cotignac has several restaurants, but we found Hotel Restaurant du Cours to be particularly good, with excellent local food and wines.
We would thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of France.
A lovely cottage in a glorious region of Provence. This property is secluded but does not feel isolated. The totally private swimming pool is superb and we spent many hours cooling off in the Provencal sunshine. The cottage is well equipped and keeps very cool, even in high temperatures. The surrounding grounds are beautiful with plenty of places to choose to sit and relax and read. The village of Cotignac is really charming with plenty of good restaurants; it is about 7 minutes away by car. We spent a truly relaxing holiday and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.
Our family of four truly enjoyed this amazing place! It exceeded our expectations!!! Very private, relaxing and cozy with a great flow of energy running through. Coming from a busy city we loved the peaceful and quiet environment with great views around and the heated pool! The cottage is equipped with everything you need to stay comfortably and even enjoy cooking like home! It's only 50 mins drive to the beautiful beaches. Lots of beautiful villages and vineyards to visit. The owner gives great ideas of exploring the area. Highly recommending it to everyone and our children are already talking about coming back there soon!:)
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week at the beginning of October. I thought we were taking a bit of a risk with the weather, but we were blessed with warm, sunny days. Les Cypres was the perfect place enjoy a much needed break and had everything we needed. A big thank you to Claire and Ian for a warm welcome, and for keeping the pool open for us, given the good weather! Location wise Cotignac is well placed for exploring the surrounding area. We took trips to the Gorges du Verdon, Aups, St Tropez, and all the neighbouring villages for market days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!
Cotignac is a pretty, unspoiled Provence village set at the foot of ancient limestone cliffs, and designated 'Village de Caractère', and 'Un des plus beaux villages de France'. It was founded before the Romans, and in the 19th century was at the centre of the olive and silkworm industries. It is at the heart of the Côte de Provence vineyards. The village has many beautiful fountains and a weekly Provençal market, plus the benefit of several restaurants and shops. In the summer, a festival of films and concerts are presented in the spectacular outdoor 'Théatre du Rocher'.
To the south, Cotignac is 1 hour from St. Tropez and the Cote d'Azur. To the north at 45 minutes is the breathtaking Gorge de Verdon and beautiful Lac St. Croix, with the lavender fields of Valensole nearby. To the west at 1hour is Aix en Provence, and Avignon at 2 hours. To the east the Italian border is 90 minutes away.
