It’s a fun, querky bungalow, spacious and something of tardis – with a separate annexe in the garage conversion. On first sight small - but looks can be deceiving – the space around and in St Anne’s just seems to grow and grow.

The property is perfect for groups of up to 6 using the main house and as many as 10 using the Annexe too. There are 5 bedrooms, three of which are doubles and two have bunk beds sleeping up to 10 people. Please note the annexe is only used for more than 6 people.

The main house has 2 double-bedded rooms and a further bedroom with full-sized bunk beds - the family bathroom has a separate shower and bath. The kitchen is modern, light and airy, easily accommodating 10 round the large kitchen table. You’ll find a spacious, long, sitting room, with two seating areas - including a huge L-shaped comfy sofa, to snuggle up on or watch television and an open fire. French windows open on to a large, enclosed, private garden - ideal for young children to play outside. The garden patio has a garden table, chairs and BBQ to relax outside in the evening sunshine.

The separate annexe has one double, one bunk room and a walk-in shower.

Conveniently located almost opposite the harbour and the coastal path. It is ideal for sailing and walking. You can also walk to the two pubs in the village and it is less than a mile from the local supermarket and garage at Burnham Deepdale. Brancaster Beach is a 40 minute walk along the coastal path or a 5 minute drive with a large car park. Wonderful sandy beach, great for swimming at high tide. Fabulous Holkham beach is 15 minutes in the car.

Good location in Brancaster Staithe but accommodation disappointing

We booked St Anne's for a weeks holiday with our family. Communication with the manager proved to be frustrating to say the least and an error on the website booking system (still unresolved despite speaking to Owners Abroad directly) left us 1 week before our holiday unsure whether we would have the accommodation we thought we had booked.

St Annes has a lot of potential but unfortunately it is in need of some serious TLC. It is clearly a family holiday home which is let out when not in use by said family and therefore not presented to the standard we have come to expect on the North Norfolk coast. The bed linen and towels are well used, one towel even had a hole in it and there was only 1 hand towel to be shared by 7 people. Parts of the accommodation, particularly the annexe, smelt musty and we had to buy reed defusers to try and counteract this. Throughout the bungalow several doors did not close properly and neither of the bathrooms had locks on the doors. The fridge & freezer both had items of food in them, in fact the freezer was full. Neither of the gates in the courtyard area closed properly and my husband had to rig up a way to tie them closed to keep our little grand daughter safe.

On the plus side the kitchen and living room areas are quite spacious and well equipped and the outside space & parking are very good. There is a lovely patio overlooking the garden where we enjoyed using the bar-b-q provided. The location in Brancaster Staithe is very good being up a small side road and therefore very quiet. It is within easy walking distance of the Staithe and if you enjoy walking there are plenty of options from here. The Jolly Sailors and White Horse pubs are within walking distance and both serve excellent food.

Would we recommend St Annes? Not as it is at the moment.

There is a supermarket and garage at the far end of Brancaster Staithe. There is also a great fish shop where you can buy locally caught fish and there is a lobster/crab shed opposite the Jolly Sailors. A sailing school is also within 3 minutes walk where you can rent canoes and sailing boats or participate in sailing courses.
