This bright and modern 3 bedroom apartment is situated in the heart of Austrian Madrid - a great choice for a family or group of friends looking for a central location during their time in the city. Located on Calle Mayor, a long street that perfectly captures the style and atmosphere of old Madrid, many of the capital´s most famous landmarks and must-see sights are in an easy walking distance. The elegant Plaza Mayor is on the doorstep, the famous Puerta del Sol and royal palace are both nearby, and the recently refurbished Mercado de San Miguel - an elegantly glass-covered food market - is just around the corner and perfect for sampling local Spanish delicacies. The area is renowned for its good restaurants and traditional taverns and wine bars, and there is no better neighbourhood in the city in which to partake in the classic Madrileño pastime of enjoying some early evening drinks and tapas. There are a number of metro and bus stops within easy reach, and a nearby supermarket for food and essentials. Modern and stylish, the apartment itself is a beautiful home away from home, and ideal for a short break in this vibrant Spanish city. The apartment has been decorated in a contemporary style, with clean lines, muted colours and quality dark flooring throughout. The open-plan living room is bright and welcoming, with traditional Spanish balcony windows looking out to the street below and flooding the apartment with light for much of the day. The combined kitchen and dining room is spacious and modern, and comes fully equipped with everything guests may need during their stay. Each of the three bedrooms is modern and comfortable. The two bathrooms are brand new, having been renovated to the highest standard. With the ideal combination of a great central location and comfortable yet stylish interior, the apartment offers guests the perfect base during their time in this exciting city. Please note that this property is located on the second floor, and there is no lift.

Surface Area: 90 m2. Second floor (no lift). The entrance leads into the living room with 2 French windows facing out onto the street. This area is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, a chaise lounge, a wooden coffee table, 2-side tables with lamps, shelving with LCD TV and a DVD player. The modern kitchen, right on the entrance hallway, is equipped with a fridge / freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine / dryer and a dining table with seating for 6.There are three bedrooms: the master bedroom consists of a double room (king-sized bed 1.80m x 2.00m) and a windowed balcony; 1 double (queen-sized bed 1.50m x 2.00m) connected to the third interior twin bedroom (with 2 single beds 0.90m x 2.00m) with closet. There are two bathrooms both with walk-in showers. There is laminated flooring throughout the apartment except for the kitchen and bathrooms, which are both tiled.

Great location Really nice apartment -- need more glasses

The best part of this apartment is the location as long as you are able to sleep with noise. It is located steps from Plaza Mayor and is a 30 minute walk from almost everything that you want to visit in Madrid. My wife and I are solid sleepers and the street noise did not bother us at all. Our 3 more than teenage boys were in quieter rooms. The floor plan is odd but the inside of the apartment itself is very very nice. Bright clean and warm. The walk up is not very nice but do not let that put you off. Previous comments mentioned 'not enough glasses' so I was disappointed to find only 4 glasses! If this oversight is corrected and you can sleep with street noise then this apartment is a great choice. Check-in with Javier was excellent and very professional. Do not use their transport from airport if you are 5-6 people. Their flat rate of 70€ is more than 2 taxis (flat rate 30€ each) and taxis are very easy to get from the airport

Nicely Appointed Apartment in a Prime Location

We enjoyed our three nights in this simply but elegantly appointed apartment just steps from Calle Mayor--the big square surrounded by cafes and shops, and easy walking distance to The Prado and the Reina Sofia museums. The beds were quite comfortable and the kitchen modestly equipped. It would have been nice to have a little more seating in the living room--the couch and one lounge chair were not enough for our family of five. We also would have liked to have more places to hang clothes--one of the bedrooms has a huge closet, but the other two have no closet or clothes stand. But overall, it worked very well as a base for our weekend in Madrid.

The PERFECT location to see all the sights of Old Madrid!

This apartment is perfectly located to walk to many of the major attractions, train stations, restaurants, shopping, and all that Old Madrid has to offer. My husband, our two kids (ages 15 & 12) enjoyed a comfortable week stay. The clean, modern apartments had everything we needed: full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, 3 bedrooms, blow dryer, iron, plenty of hot water, etc. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's true you hear a lot of noise until late in the night, but honestly, I think that is just Madrid. Our 2nd floor balcony gave us a view of all the action (we were lucky enough to be there during Holy Week, so saw many religious processions). The people of Spain Select were very accommodating, which was appreciated.

In the heart of Madrid, very convenience and walking distance to all major sight seeing locations

The apartment is a crossed from the San Miguel Market, the decoration is very modern and clean. It is very convenience and walking distance to all major sight seeing locations. There are plenty of restaurants around the area if decided to eat out.

My only complain is the dinning wares are meant to be for 6 people only so there aren't extra cups or glasses to spare. The apartment also lacked some closet space except for on the third bedroom. The air-condition on the first bedroom is kind of weak, so it can be hot.

Overall, I would stay here again if visiting Madrid again.

Perfect location

Great place, I stay with my whole family 3 adult and 3 children not issue at all. Place just like the picture. Close to most important tourist places. I will stay over and over.

The pickup service at the airport was great the young man was waiting for us and he was very helpful plus nice vehicle.

The person from vrbo was also nice. He took the time to go through all the unit details gave us 2 key of the place and left his phone number for any emergency.

In summary great first experience and I will stay in there again in blink of an eye.

The apartment is very well located and within walking distance of most attractions in Madrid. Spain Select did a great job checking us in and getting us oriented. There was plenty of room for our family of four and the apartment was modern, clean and well-maintained.
