Overview

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Yet another splendid hideaway encased within the famous Torre de Madrid building, this one-bedroom apartment for four is certainly one for those who appreciate fine views, for there are few better vantage points of the Spanish capital than those afforded to the inhabitants of this luxury suite. Overlooking the dynamic, unfolding scenes that stretch from the ever-buoyant Plaza de España and trace a fair distance along the city's main artery, Gran Via, this recently-renovated skyscraper is not only bathed in history, it is soaked in it. In its modern-day incarnation, Torre de Madrid boasts several luxury apartment suites under careful Spain Select custody – each carrying their own unique character  thanks to custom furnishings – as well as a few extra lavish trimmings such as a pool, solarium and high-spec gymnasium. The area immediately surrounding this home is teeming with options for self-prescribed gastronomic, retail and leisure therapy. The nearby Calle Princesa and the aforementioned Gran Vía, for example, are lined with international stores and residents that include globally-recognized designer brands, while the adjacent neighborhood of Malasaña is an exhibition of Madrid's slightly quirkier side, with its vintage stores and independent restaurants, boutiques and bars. One of Madrid's must-sees – the highly photogenic Templo de Debod park – offers a green oasis in which to catch a dappling of sunshine, a gust of air, and even more Madrileño candy for the eyes, and is just a five-minute walk away. Torre Madrid's highly convenient placement next to one of the city's most important streets and metro stops also means that, should you wish to explore what it has to offer beyond its commercial core, you can do so without the slightest threat of breaking a sweat. This home shares the same open-yet-cosy layouts as many of its Spain Select counterparts nestled within the building. A modern kitchen – complete with all of the amenities you will need to stay suitably nourished during your stay – sits alongside a snug lounge and a dining area built for company and conversation. Large windows at the extremes of this zone extend an open invitation for the Madrid sunshine during the day, and magical views of the city's lights by night. The living room, in particular, compels a sense of intimacy, incited, in part, by the large, high-backed sofa cuddled up against a whitewashed, brick wall. While some of the scenery sprawling before your eyes  may take your breath away, you can recapture some of it by grabbing some air (or an al fresco breakfast) on the balcony. Rest is no issue either, at Torre Madrid XXIV, as its huge main bedroom – and king-sized bed to match – serves as an ideal cradle in which up to two people can drift off, especially knowing that you'll wake up to against an awesome urban backdrop. Furthermore, this chamber comes with its own annexed, contemporary bathroom, complete with large, walk-in shower. Boasting laminate wood walkways throughout adding a rustic balance, tastefully handpicked, custom furnishings, and access to the building's luxurious leisure offerings, Torre Madrid XXIV is yet another excellent resting place for seekers of urban adventure and relaxation in the heart of the Spanish capital.

Great location & fantastic apartment!

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is in a fantastic location, its really central and about a 10-15 min walk to many of the main attractions. It's located next to a metro stop (Plaza de Espana) so if you need to travel further its really easy to hop on the metro and get there. We found that the metro was really easy to navigate and a really inexpensive way to get around the city and travel in & out from the airport.

The apartment itself is beautiful & really nicely decorated. Its modern and contemporary, the kitchen is fully fitted and has all the mod cons you would want. Lots of positives with this apartment, light, spacious, well laid out and great facilities. It also has a balcony which gets the sun late afternoon, so perfect for chilling with a glass of vino blanco after a day of sight seeing - its also a lovely place to watch the sunset in the evening!

A couple of negatives is that we found that the sofa was uncomfortable and the DVD player didn't work, other than that's is perfect.

Should also mention, that Alex (the agent who gave us the keys) was really helpful and gave us lots of great tips of restaurants, bars and places to see in Madrid.

Modern apartment with luxury

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is on the 11th floor of one of the tallest buildings in Madrd, you will never get lost as you can always spot the building. It has very good security, an excellent lift and and access to the Metro across the street in the beautiful Plaza Espana. There are also many restaurants and supermarkets in the area as well as a large number of cinemas to escape the afternoon heat.

The apartment is large with an open floor plan and a comfortable bedroom and bath off to the side. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a large refrigerator - American style. The air conditioning works very well, but was actually too cold before

Hector reset the thermostat. The bed is firm and very comfortable and the bedroom is also very quiet, we never heard anything from our neighbors or from outside during our stay. The bathroom has modern fixtures and one of the finest showers I have experienced. There is also a nice balcony outside, though it faces the afternoon sun and was mostly too hot to use.

My wife and I had a great stay here and would definitely return.
