Seascape Cottage is one of a cluster of about eight Fishermen’s family cottages built in the late 1790’s. It is a wonderful place for a romantic escape, or an ideal base for a family holiday.

OUTSIDE

Directly off the road is the garden gate set in a low white stone wall which leads into the sunny and well sheltered garden which has superb views out over the waters of the outer St Mawes harbour. There is usually a constant stream of yachts and boats going to and fro, across and through this wonderful sunny and sheltered stretch of busy water.

DOWNSTAIRS

The approach, through glazed doors leads directly into a 20ft living room, off which is a small conservatory. This comfortable room is very sunny and has a light and airy feel. It has a pair of large French windows opening directly on to the paved garden. It is equipped with a light oak dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and chairs, flat screen television and DVD player, Broadband wi-fi and telephone (local calls).

Leading off this room is a Galley Kitchen fully equipped with Dishwasher, Hob, Oven, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Washing machine and all the usual smaller items for home cooking, eating and entertaining.

There is a downstairs shower room with basin and loo.

Beyond that is a small single bedroom with basin and cupboards. This bedroom has a glass conservatory roof with no ceiling blinds.

UPSTAIRS

Upstairs the cottage has three bedrooms and a large bathroom en suite to bedrooms one and three.

Bedroom one is a large double bedroom, very sunny, light and airily spacious with a king sized bed. Sun pours in, and there are stunning views over the outer harbour across to the pretty peninsular of St Antony, and to Place Manor.

The second bedroom is a small light sunny single bedroom. The window also directly looks out over the cottage terrace and garden and across the harbor. This is ideal room for children. There is no wardrobe in this room but large drawer under bed and wide shelving over bed for clothes. Also there is a wardrobe on landing outside this room and bedroom 3.

The third bedroom is a pleasant room with a medium sized double bed, wood floors, plantation shutters, but no sea view.

The bathroom is a light spacious room, fully tiled with bath, basin and loo.

As with almost all houses in the centre of St Mawes, Seascape does not have private parking. You can unload and then park about 50 yds away near the Rising Sun or in the main village car park which is about 2 minutes walk from the cottage.

NO DOGS ALLOWED UNLESS AGREED WITH THE OWNER.

Why Penny Cox chose Saint Mawes

There are very few cottages in the village with a large sunny terrace, overlooking the sea. Also no hill to climb like most of the properties in the village!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely, light, fisherman's cottage. It was very conveniently located and we loved the decor. We will certainly be booking again next year.

Great holiday with great weather.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in St Mawes. We have spent many happy holidays in the Roseland but 1st time staying actually in St Mawes. The cottage was very homely & comfortable with everything you might need for your holiday. We would definitely like to return and watch the world go by!

lovely!

  • 5 of 5

Have been going to St Mawes for years and stayed in various cottages but this must rank as the best so far. Beautifully furnished and the huge plus for us is the garden. We had good weather overall and like nothing more than sitting out reading and watching the people going by! With the views over the water and the boats the garden here was an absolute bonus. Hope we will definetely be back.

seascape is a beautifully furnished cottage with everything you could want for.

  • 5 of 5

St Mawes is a quaint little fishing village and Seascape is in the perfect position for staying in this delightful village. You can idle away hours watching the sailing boats, rowers, fisher men and early morning keen swimmers from the front garden of Seascape.

There are so many walks, beautiful bays, varied restaurants and pubs within the vicinity there is no time to be idle. Ferries run regularly from the little harbour to Falmouth and Place the inlet you can see from the cottage. St Just has a picturesque church and a fabulous coastal walk and you can have a tasty ploughman's with local cheeses or a delicious cream tea at the tea room.

Wonderful cosy cottage in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days staying in seascape cottage. The cottage is in a central village location and is so close to Summers beach and the brilliant playground. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The front garden is a brilliant sun trap and we were able to sit outside most afternoons.
