Seascape Cottage is one of a cluster of about eight Fishermen’s family cottages built in the late 1790’s. It is a wonderful place for a romantic escape, or an ideal base for a family holiday.
Directly off the road is the garden gate set in a low white stone wall which leads into the sunny and well sheltered garden which has superb views out over the waters of the outer St Mawes harbour. There is usually a constant stream of yachts and boats going to and fro, across and through this wonderful sunny and sheltered stretch of busy water.
The approach, through glazed doors leads directly into a 20ft living room, off which is a small conservatory. This comfortable room is very sunny and has a light and airy feel. It has a pair of large French windows opening directly on to the paved garden. It is equipped with a light oak dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and chairs, flat screen television and DVD player, Broadband wi-fi and telephone (local calls).
Leading off this room is a Galley Kitchen fully equipped with Dishwasher, Hob, Ovens, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Washer Dryer and all the usual smaller items for home cooking, eating and entertaining.
There is a downstairs shower room with basin and loo.
Beyond that is a light and airy single bedroom with basin and cupboards.
Upstairs the cottage has three bedrooms and a large bathroom en suite to bedrooms one and three.
Bedroom one is a large double bedroom, very sunny, light and airily spacious with a king sized bed. Sun pours in, and there are stunning views over the outer harbour across to the pretty peninsular of St Antony, and to Place Manor.
The second bedroom is a small light sunny single bedroom. The window also directly looks out over the cottage terrace and garden and across the harbor. This is ideal room for children. There is no wardrobe in this room but large drawer under bed and wide shelving over bed for clothes. Also there is a wardrobe on landing outside this room and bedroom 3.
The third bedroom is a pleasant room with a medium sized double bed, wood floors, plantation shutters, but no sea view.
The bathroom is a light spacious room, fully tiled with bath, basin and loo.
As with almost all houses in the centre of St Mawes, Seascape does not have private parking. You can unload and then park about 50 yds away near the Rising Sun or in the main village car park which is about 2 minutes walk from the cottage.
There are very few cottages in the village with a large sunny terrace, overlooking the sea. Also no hill to climb like most of the properties in the village!
We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely, light, fisherman's cottage. It was very conveniently located and we loved the decor. We will certainly be booking again next year.
We had a wonderful week at Seascape. The cottage is so cosy and perfect for an autumn week away. The garden is a sun trap and we were lucky to be able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. It's a real treat to have a holiday cottage with top quality bedding, towels and even new crockery and cutlery. We loved the cottage and great views especially from the window seat in the bedroom.
Seascape cottage is exceedingly well appointed. The garden is a superb feature, with fantastic views. St. Mawes was an excellent place to stay and parking and shopping within the village were very easy. Altogether a wonderful holiday
This cottage is in a great location and a really comfortable and cosy home . I had regular contact from booking and during our stay . Nothing was too much trouble . St.Mawes is a friendly and small, pretty village/harbour which we loved . It's a great base to explore this beautiful part of the country . We will be returning !
Seascape Cottage is in the seaside village of St Mawes. St Mawes has it's own beaches, rock pools, harbour and is a centre for sailing and canoeing. There are ferry links to the sea side town of Falmouth (20min) and to the Helford River.Truro is a half hour drive away. One way to get there is by the King Harry Car Ferry.
