Villa, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6)
I am a television commercial producer who lives both in Los Angeles and Koh Samui, but I prefer to spend most of my time between jobs in Koh Samui. Thanks to the Internet and cell phones it became clear to me that I could live anywhere and prep my jobs and then commute to wherever in the world I need to shoot and I found that Koh Samui, with the proximity of Bangkok, is a great place to be. We have amazing friends on the island from all over the world....and friends are always dropping in to stay at the villa. (Note: the photo is taken at Tiger Temple outside of Bangkok)
Rob purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Rob chose Bophut
I've traveled to 70+ countries and could have chosen a vacation home almost anywhere, but I found that Thailand was the one country I really missed when I was away...and it always felt great to be back. I started traveling to Koh Samui in 1995 when Chaweng was just a dirt road. In later years I would bounce back and forth on my Thailand trips between Koh Samui and Phuket, but found I much preferred Koh Samui... My wife and I found this house accidentally. There was a misprint on a real estate sign and we thought the house was 1/4 of the price it was actually listed it. However, we didn't know this until we had seen the house and....had fallen in love with it the minute we walked in the door and had to buy it.
What makes this Villa unique
I say in the listing that the villa looks just as the pictures represent it to be....a Balinese fantasy home (in Thailand). When the house is lit up at night it is spectacular....really beautiful. And waking up in the morning one of the bedrooms has a straight shot to the sunrise, (depending on the time of the year) which is fantastic. Living here, we entertain a lot and it's a great house for that. And the house is very private, as is most of the pool, and that is a big bonus. The villa is good sized, and I know of many homes that are even larger that don't have the lifestyle aspects that this villa offers. The villa builders also did a great job with the landscaping so that the entire grounds is lush...looking from every room you have a great abundance of lush landscaping (even more lush since the photos were taken). I also appreciate that you can get to Fisherman's Village/Bophut in about five minutes drive and the restaurants there are great (and varied), and the village is fun to walk through and shop and we love Friday night walking street in the village. And if we want to go to Chaweng for even more extensive nightlife, it's only 15 minutes away.

Great property in the hills
We had a fabulous time at Villa Samprasada. The villa is beautiful and the service was great. Lek, our villa manager answered all of our questions and made sure everything was taken care of. It is close to fisherman's village which is ia great place to hang out, get food and drinks. The property is a bit in the hills but after the first day we got used to driving it. We hope to be back again soon!
Lovely huge villa with everything you could possibly need! Gorgeous inside and out.
Wonderful week in Samui
The house was lovely. The pool was refreshing... used it every day. The AC in the bedrooms and living room kept the rooms very cool and comfortable. Robert responded to any inquiries very quickly. He definitely wanted to make sure we had everything we needed.
We had a fabulous time on the island. The location was great...less than 10 minute drive to Fisherman's Village or supermarkets. Friday night's at Fisherman's village is a must...a huge night market.
There are two elephant rescue facilities on the island...one on the road to the house. The other is a 10 minute drive. The best part of our trip was visiting the elephants!! Such spectacular creatures!
You definitely need a car to get around...but worth it to see all parts of the island. If your looking for a place on the beach with chairs, we went to a restaurant/bar called Music Beach. As long as you bought food and drink, you could use their beach chairs and their pool!! We went there twice. Laurent was the owner... very nice Frenchman.
I would definitely rent this house again! It was wonderful!!
Home away from home - but better
I've realized this is actually my idea of Paradise. After a rough couple of years I found myself doing some reflecting over New Years on the best time I've had in recent memory and realized it was at Villa Samprasada some time ago. I couldn't book it right away (seems understandably hard to get bookings for) but boy was it worth the wait to return. There's something so special about the homeliness combined with the exotic "Resort" feel this place has. I can't wait to return. If I play my cards right I hope to be back every year from now on.
Thank you for coming back Tyler! And hope you liked all the updates since you last stayed a few years back. Please come again.
Perfect place to chill
The villa is gorgeous, lots of different areas to just hang out. Days spent floating in the pool with a nice cold beer. Great location only a sort drive from the airport, and tucked away so you feel secluded, but close enough to Fishermans village for breakfast with a view. Loved being able to see the elephants at the nearby sanctuary as we drove by everyday. Love love loved it. Really comfortable bed too, and I miss my outdoor shower.
Thank you for your wonderful review. Yes, it's great now to be able to drive down the hill and see the elephants not being ridden but in their sanctuary. And on a separate note, thank you for your kind side note about the chef ("Kim") that Khun Oh arranged for your dinner party with friends and the amazing meal you had. Please come back again.
Villa Samprasada is located just a four to five minute drive from famous beachfront Fisherman's Village, with it's abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. Fisherman's Village is right on Bophut Beach, where you can swim, walk, or jetski. And you're just 15 minutes from Chaweng Beach. The villa affords you privacy but within four minutes you can drive down to the Ring Road, which circles the island.
