About Jenny Calvert-Corp
I grew up in the St Just and Pendeen area of Cornwall (Poldark country!) and after studying and working in Bristol came back to Cornwall in 2000 to be nearer my parents and to raise a family. My husband is Bristol born but has fallen in love with Cornwall and everything it has to offer. We have both worked in hospitality and have 15 years experience of letting properties. We take pride in the property and holiday experience we offer.
Jenny Calvert-Corp purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Jenny Calvert-Corp chose Saint Hilary
Croft Gothal is a magical, idyllic place. The air is clean and the lack of light pollution mean that on a clear night the stars are simply stunning. It is in the middle of the countryside up a leafy, rural track but near enough to the village and the beach not to feel isolated. There is plenty of spaces for adults and children alike.
What makes this Cottage unique
The views are stunning, the garden is large enough to kick a ball around and play on the swings, the kitchen/living area is light and spacious and the lounge and bedrooms are cosy. The 'back field' is perfect for building dens or watching for badgers. The surrounding byways and bridleways are ideal for nature-watching, exploring, dog walking and mountain biking. Star-gazing at night is a must! For larger groups (8-10 people) Little Crofty (the adjacent 1 bed apartment, HomeAway reference HAUK 8617630) can be booked simultaneously.

Yes it's off the 'beaten track, but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing base, but within a very few miles of Cornwalls beautiful beaches and attractions this is the place for you. 5 star property with every thing you could possibly need. Friendly but discrete owners that shows, as the house feels like home. Even bowls and towels for the dog, who loved the spacious garden to run round in. Just wish I could have stayed longer.
Thank you for your great review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay (and the way the sunshine followed you around!). It was lovely to meet you all and gorgeous Alfie the dog. Thanks again.
Beautiful cottage with excellent facilities!
Well equipped, quirky cottage in a peaceful setting. Friendly owners on hand for anything needed. We love this corner of Cornwall and enjoyed our stay in Croft Gothal.
It was a pleasure to host you and your lovely family and you would all be welcome back any time! Thank you, Jenny and Des
Highly recommend. Very spacious and quiet with beautiful views
We all had a fantastic time at Croft Gothal. The welcome hamper was a delightful gift and the owners were very friendly and responded very promptly during our stay.
The house was very spacious and comfortably accommodated us all (4 adults, 4 children and a toddler). The children loved the outdoor space and there was plenty to keep them entertained in the house.
It was very peaceful and quiet and the views from the kitchen were stunning.
We would all recommend this charming property.
Thank you for your lovely review. We're glad you had a good week.
Beautiful rural setting
The cottage was delightful; it was beautifully presented and equipped with good quality items and very comfy beds. The rural setting was magical - to be able to sit in the garden and not hear any traffic noise was lovely. After a day out sightseeing it was a real treat to come back to the tranquility of the cottage. The very generous welcome pack was lovely too.
Thank you Heather. It was great to meet you all.
Lovely house with perfect hosts
We had a wonderful stay at Croft Gothal, which is an excellent holiday house but the icing on the cake is the kindness and attentiveness of Jenny and Des the owners, who could not possibly have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Piping hot water at all times, lovely bed linen, excellently equipped kitchen, fantastic gas BBQ and a badminton net set up for us in the garden all ready to go. All three generations of our family loved it.
