Sleeps up to 13 in two lovely apartments in the three valleys ski area

Chalet Alpage is an original Savoyard Farmhouse, which has been tastefully converted into two spacious apartments. The two apartments have been refurbished and updated for this ski season, sleeping upto 13 (2015/16). Situated in La Combe, a small hamlet of traditional chalets and farm buildings approximately five minutes from Saint Martin de Bellville in the heart of the famous 'Three valleys' ski area.

Split into two apartments, holidaymakers can rent the whole farmhouse or choose from the upper apartment, which sleeps 7 or the lower apartment which sleeps 6.

We are now able to offer a part or fully catered option from our partners - chalet kitchen, please ask about details. They can also supply a welcome pack and some essential supplies on arrival or on a regular basis.

Apartment Cheval Alpine

This is a three bedroom property, which has recently been refurbished and updated . There is a spacious and comfortable living/dining area . The mezzanine area has with a double bed with ensuite shower room and another single bed in the roof eave. In addition, there is a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom.

We supply bedding and towels.

There is a large well equipped lounge/dining/kitchen area with all the mod cons including, fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, gas hob, oak fitted units. There is a wood burner and logs are provided for guests ( in the cellar) In the lounge area there is a new 43" TV and you can watch english, french, dutch, spanish, italian etc. free channels. Both properties have WIFI.

There is a family bathroom with shower, WC and basin.

There is access to the external balconies through the lounge/dining room.

The property is heated by electric radiators and has a ski store area in the cellar.

There is parking outside the property and also there are some public spaces in the village.

Apartment Cheval Noir

This apartment has two good size bedrooms, and has also been refurbished, the first with twin divan beds with French doors to the balcony. The second, is a family room comprising of a double bed and a bunk bed.

We supply bedding and towels.

There is a family bathroom with shower.

There is a large well equipped lounge/dining/kitchen area with all the mod cons including, fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, gas hob, oak fitted units.

In the lounge there is a TV with english free channels, a DVD Player and a selection of DVD's to watch. Both properties have WIFI.

Open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room with access to the external balconies.

The property has electric heating and a ski store area in the cellar.

There is parking outside the property and also there are some public spaces in the village.

Cosy apartment - good if you don't have a huge budget

Chalet Alpine (upstairs apartment in Chalet Alpage) is a cosy and comfortable self catering apartment a few minutes drive from St Martin de Belleville (or Les Menuires and Val Thorens if you don't mind driving a bit further up the valley) and from there into the huge Three Valleys ski area.

La Combe - the hamlet where Chalet Alpage is located - is a funny little place. A mixture of smart refurbished chalets and tumbledown barns! But please be aware that there is nothing else at La Combe (no shop, restaurant, bar etc) so you are very car dependant. You'll need to bear this in mind if the apres is a big part of your ski trip.

The chalet itself is comfortable and attractive, if a bit quirky (which we like). The master bedroom is a mezzanine above the main living/dining room/kitchen and there are lots of low beams. There were seven of us, all adults or tall teenagers and we filled the place, but there was room for everyone - just. The hot water didn't quite stretch to showers for everyone in the evening, but that might be because some people stayed in there too long!

We chose Chalet Alpine because we wanted to keep the cost down this year (or as much as you can on a ski holiday) and it is certainly good value for money compared to other properties. If you need ski-in-ski-out, hot-tubs, saunas and boot warming racks then look elsewhere. Chalet Alpine doesn't have any of those things, but it does have everything you need to self cater for a week, plus a nice wood burning stove and a plentiful wood pile which we really appreciated.

La Combe is a typical Alpine hamlet. Located in the beautiful 'Three Valley's' Ski area, at an altitude of 1450m, the biggest ski area in the world with over 600km of pitted snow and the same again off-piste.

From St Martin de Belleville, you can ski to Courcheval and Meribel.

Fantastic skiing and snow boarding in Winter and spectacular walking, mountain biking and nature holidays in summer in summer

Chalet Alpage is located in La Combe, a small hamlet located five minutes away from St Martin de Belleville, which is a charming Alpine village with many facilities.

In the winter, you can enjoy superb skiing and snowboarding in the biggest skiing area in the world. Gondolas connect the three valleys.

St Martin boasts an excellent ski school with 20 permanent instructors, with experience in high mountain, skiing, snowboarding, powder and moguls.

For the non-skiers or when you fancy a day off you can take a walk on snowshoes or cross country skis or hire a dog sleigh.

In the school holidays you can take part in a torchlight visit of the village and there are several musical events during the season.

St Martin de Belleville is an all round holiday destination with many activities to get involved with during the summer as well as the winter season. For example, if you like walking - Saint Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens offers a selection of over 50 marked pedestrian paths, which cover over 250km.

For mountain bike enthusiasts - you can enjoy 21 ATB trails, which cover over 120km of stunning scenery.

Or you can go mountaineering, hiking or climbing - with an experienced high/middle mountain guide, who organise a series of activities for all levels, from day long mountain hikes, ice and rock climbing and over night stays in an alpine mountain refuge.

Children can get involved in Children's Mountain Club - organised by the 'Bureau des Guides' for 6 to 13 years olds, which aims to educate them about all aspects of mountain life.

Les Menuires Sports Centre - a fantastic large complex, which boasts swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna well being centre, squash court, weight rooms, dancing and gymnastics.

Places of interest - Annecy - (about 1hour 30 mins) the old town is traversed by canals, there are mini-cruises on the lakes.

Chamonix - Mont Blanc - (about 2 hours) take the Montenvers train (Mer de Glace) the Aiguille du Midi, and Brevent cable cars , or by the Mont Blanc tramway.

Albertville et Conflans Winter Olympics Museum, medieval city of Conflans, and it's ethnographic and Historical Museum, the Abbey and fort de Tamie, the Roman church in Clery, small museum of the Combe de Savoie, and the Fortress de Miolans.
