A perfect place for two in the Sussex countryside--we LOVED it there.

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect, from the beautifully designed "Pig and Whistle" to the gorgeous garden you look out on and can sit in. We chose it for its location (we were visiting family as well as wanting to go places like Rodmell and Charleston; we had reasons to go to Brighton but did not want to stay there—we wanted to stay in the country), its kingsize bed and its designated parking space, as well as our fond memories of Henfield from decades ago. Although the village has grown since we knew it, it is still a charming place with lovely walks into the surrounding farmland, many with views of the South Downs. The owners are architects and the space is beautifully and ingeniously designed. This aspect, too, drew us to it, yet it was even more delightful than the photos led us to believe. The many skylights make for a bright interior; the complete and very modern kitchen (there is even a sweet little dishwasher) was fully supplied with staples as well as enough for a first breakfast of eggs, fresh bread, butter and jam. The bottle of wine in the fridge was a sweet touch although we never had a chance to drink it. We loved the stylish designer bathroom, and appreciated the excellent large tv in the sitting area and also the one on the wall in the bedroom (we caught bits of the Chelsea Flower Show). It was all immaculate. Everything we could possibly have needed was there. Everything worked. The bed was very comfortable (something that is important to us), the linen fresh and pleasing, plenty of drawers and closet space, and a motion-activated nightlight. We enjoyed meeting Jo and Gavin who are lovely and welcoming people, with their two adorable Jack Russells, Chilli and Maisie,

a bonus, although strictly optional if you are not dog nuts like us. There is a wonderful greengrocer a few steps away and a good supermarket across the high street where you can buy just about anything you might want; it sells high quality food of all kinds. The Pig and Whistle was blessedly quiet, full of birdsong, and everything about it was esthetically pleasing, comfortable, and well-thought-out. We were there for a week and hated to leave. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Contemporary studio in Henfield

  • 5 of 5

This is a super place to stay. Everything has been well thought out - from the modern designed accommodation to the welcome pack provided by Jo on your arrival. The accommodation comprises of a large open plan living room and kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and available garden. Everything is new, clean and in working order. The property is well situated in the village for access to shops and eating places and it is easy to travel in all directions to see the many attractions in this part of Sussex. All in all an excellent place to make your base.

Wonderful, delightful hideaway. Beautifully presented

  • 5 of 5

A most fantastic stay in high quality comfort. It’s the little touches that you notice, and they are plentiful from robes to rustic bread and wine! Recommend The Plough for food and a warming welcome but can get busy. Ditching beacon. Walks along the top, great views. Worthing Park Run along the sea front, nicely organised. Henfield is lovely. Really friendly as are the local people we’ve found not to mention Jo, who is lovely. Thanks Jo!

Well we will be staying again. 10 stars !!

Delightful and fully equipped

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly situated just off the centre of Henfield High Street, the detached single story accommodation is spacious and modern. Fully equipped kitchen area, excellent modern bathroom and bedroom. The lounge/dining/kitchen is spacious and very comfortable. Weather wasn´t good enough for us to use the south facing garden and terrace but this would be brilliant in Summer. Free parking directly outside. Jo and Gavin on hand with any help needed.
