Lovingly restored cottage with private garden & sheltered outdoor dining area

Kent House is set in the heart of Mousehole an ancient fishing village, with winding streets and alley ways, old net lofts and a sheltered harbour with small and safe sandy beach (perfect for really little ones). Explore the many art galleries and cafes or just enjoy a pasty and ice cream overlooking the harbour and sea beyond. There are many sandy beaches in the area such as Sennen, famous for its surfing and beautiful Porthcurno. There are plenty of lovely coastal walks around Mousehole, either east along the coast towards the fishing town of Newlyn where you can purchase the fresh catch of the day or west towards Lamorna along a particularly beautiful stretch of the coastal path. There are several lovely pubs and restaurants in Mousehole, just a few minutes walk from the cottage. The larger historic town of Penzance is 3 miles away with a wider range of shops, supermarkets, leisure centre, outdoor lido, pubs and critically acclaimed restaurants. The Scillonian ferry runs from Penzance to the stunning Scilly Isles. There is no parking at Kent House, (although there is a space where you can unload your car), but the owners do provide a weekly parking pass at a nearby public car park (there is no guaranteed space).


On the ground floor is a spacious dual aspect sitting room with two comfortable sofas, flat screen TV and DVD player and open fire with views out to the loggia area. There is a separate beautifully presented dual aspect dining room, with large circular dining table and 5 chairs with large wood burner. The dining room leads into a small but well designed galley kitchen with dishwasher and fridge.

On the first floor are three bedrooms, the romantic master bedroom with a king-size four poster bed and plenty of cupboard space, a further double bedroom and pretty single bedroom. The family bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, WC and basin.

To the rear of the property (accessed from the kitchen) is a compact but beautifully private garden, with lawned area and flower beds. There is a further covered loggia with table and chairs, an outside shower for washing off the sand after a day at the beach and a washing machine and tumble drier. There is a totally separate room off the loggia which is a games room with small table tennis table and other games – a good place to keep the kids entertained in case of the odd rainshower!

Facilities and services

The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels (including beach towels) and the final laundry are included in the price.


Parking permit for nearby by public car park (although space is not guaranteed), garden table and chairs, Kent House is in a great location and would make an ideal base for both families and couples alike. Shop & Pub on your doorstep, sheltered but small beach in the harbour; larger sandy beaches within 8 miles. Kent House is a non-smoking property. Pets welcome by prior arrangement.

Perfect location in Mousehole with a garden!

We stayed in Kent House for a week this October Half Term. The cottage was clean, well maintained, up-to-date, and everything worked! No problems with the wifi, and even a phone signal! We appreciated a few extra things such as additional towels, tea/coffee, scones, cleaning products... small things but handy nonetheless.

We go to Mousehole regularly and have stayed in many different cottages over the years. We especially liked Kent House for its central location, the garden, and the outside seating area/game room.

Any downsides... just a couple of minor things. The kitchen is small but its very well equipped and not a problem for us. One of the beds was squeaky!

I would definitely go back to this cottage. Having a garden a big plus for the summer months.

Good sized sitting room comfortably seating 5 people with 2 sofas, bean bags and coffee table. Flat screen TV and Blue Ray DVD player; fireplace. The dining room seats 5 people round a circular table with a cosy woodburner, leading into a small galley style kitchen with single electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Door from the kitchen leads out into a wonderfully private garden, with area of lawn and flower beds, a loggia area providing a covered eating area, passage to side gate allowing access directly to the garden and a place to store bicycles or surf boards. From the loggia access to a separate small games room with mini table tennis table, a few games and a separate WC. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two doubles and one single and a family bathroom. There is no parking at the property but the owners do provide a parking permit for the nearby public car park, however this does not provide a guaranteed space. All village facilities literally on your doorstep!
