Our cool bedroom, is situated near tube stations, DLR and National Rail train services. 24hr neighbourhood watchdog and pretty quiet overall. Near the centre of London and 24hr bus service for those nights out! Enjoy the great accommodation and of course London!I leave my guests a lot of freedom since I don't live in the flat I'm not constantly there bothering them when perhaps they just want relax. Small, messy, not well maintained

  • 1 of 5

The room was really small, it had not only a shared bathroom, but also a shared kitchen.

It was a messy, not well maintained appartment. The wallpaper was letting loose, the bathroom was messy, it felt unclean.

It was not what I expected

  • 2 of 5

I Sent an email letting MARISOL know that our flight from the States was arriving at 6:30am and could we check in early. I was told to come in to the flat that it eases problem. When we arrived there were other guests there and they weren't expected to checkout until 10. Fortunately they were kind enough to let us leave our luggage there so with that we set off to explore without having sleep for about 24 hours. Finally we got in touch with the owner and was able to get in around 4pm.

The flat is old and not what we expected from the pictures on the website. It appears dirty and not very well maintained. We found out there are actually three bedrooms that can be let at the same time. Not what we were expecting. The flat was hardly large enough for three without adding strangers to the mix.

We were given one towel each for the week and no washcloths. Had to go out and buy those.

The flat is in the Brough of Lewisham which is quite a distance from London. Once you learn the bus and underground it is doable but you need to factor the commute time. Very few eating establishment within walking distance so everything has to be done by bus.

Would not stay there again.

Séjour de 6 nuits pour une découverte de la ville de Londres

  • 3 of 5

Very pleased

  • 5 of 5

We were one adult and two children. Marisol waited for us at a late hour. There weren't any other guests at the apartment so we had the bathroom and kitchen for ourselves. It was exactly what we needed since we left at morning and returned at night. Comfy and clean.

Bus sop 2 min away. I looked for the house on google maps so I knew exactly how it looks like and found it easily.

Already planing my next trip ;-)

Run down

  • 1 of 5

Marisol was on holiday so her friend John met us at the apartment. We were under the impression from vrbo listing this was a house. More like a housing project. On inspection, the doors are pretty flimsy as well as the locks for the rooms. The front door also is pretty flimsy. We had asked online if area & rooms were secure & Marisol had said yes. When we discovered that the apartment is on the ground level with bathroom windows that can't even be locked we knew we had a problem. Then I asked John if he felt the area was safe & after a moments hesitation he said" well I wouldn't go out at night!" He told us his flat for rent sround the corner hadn't been burglarized yet, so he felt fortunate. If you sre going to offer a property for rent in a depressed area, you should at the very least install security bars on all windows, install heavy duty doors & locks & tell people on the listing that the area isn't safe after dark. We left & found a hotel in the Pimblico area which I highly recommend! Marisol has made no effort to contact us nor offered to refund our money. I feel the listing is totally misleading!

AWESOME, but we got lost!

  • 5 of 5

DO NOT USE HOMEAWAY OR MAPQUEST LINKS! We wandered for over an hour in the dark trying to find our flat!! Even after we mapquested the exact address, it was still wrong! If Marisol hadn't spotted us walking around outside, we would still be looking today! With that being said, our host Marisol and her daughter Gabriella were so kind and worth all of our effort to get there. They cooked pizza for us and were engaging conservationists. Accommodations were clean, homey and cozy; with just enough room for my two daughters (17 & 20 yrs old) and I. We enjoyed the fresh eggs, bread, milk, juice and cereal Marisol provided as well. The location was fabulous if you like "off the beaten path" places like me..... kinda like Brooklyn, NY but even more cultural if you can imagine! We walked to the market looking for ethnic spices & food for my daughter's new apartment. We had plenty of places to select from as Asian, African, Caribbean and Middle Eastern stores were abundant; but, I'm from the southern USA & couldn't find any salted pork for my black eyed peas as most vendors were Muslim. We stopped in the Salvation Army and picked up a pair of boots for 5€ and savored the smells of the street food from countries all over the world. The atmosphere was almost festive. We truly enjoyed ourselves! Thanks Marisol for allowing us to stay at your flat...now that we know how to get there, we will definitely return if we ever go to London again!
