Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom house a minutes walk from Mousehole's beautiful harbour beaches

From St Clement's View, you'll wake up to the most beautiful sunrises across the Bay. With far reaching views to St Michael's Mount, Cudden Point and across to the Lizard Peninsula, St Clement's View is a wonderful base for you to explore the nooks and crannies of far West Cornwall. St Clement's View is a charming and roomy three bedroom house perfectly situated just minutes from the harbour, pub, galleries and shops of the village yet tucked away from traffic and the hustle and bustle. There are three bedrooms to the first floor. Two with open sea views, the first being the master with double bed and the second having bunk beds. The third bedroom (where you hear the birds in the morning rather than the seagulls on the Island!) has two single beds. There is a bathroom and newly fitted luxury shower room to the first floor also. On the ground floor is the lounge with sea views and open fireplace and an extended living area/ kitchen/ dining room with large patio doors opening onto a private patio area. St Clement's View is a practical yet characterful place to stay for your holiday and is ideally situated. It is a real family home for most of the year and we love living here! A cot/ high chair is available on request. Please note unloading/ loading outside the house and then parking is 30 yrds further at end of lane in a secure small field.(one car only)

About Thalia Hughes

I moved to Cornwall in 2002 and have lived in the village for the past ten years. I'm a piano and music teacher working in schools around West Cornwall. The past eight years have kept me very busy with my two children but we are still always exploring this beautiful part of the world. Whether it is grey and mizzley or beautiful and blue there is always something special to see or do here. This village is very special - we love hearing the constant, comforting sound of the waves and the chug of the little mackerel boats going out in summer. The beautiful moons that you see reflected in the bay from the house, the spectacular sunrises and it's just lovely to sit out and eat breakfast on the front patio in the sunshine!

Thalia Hughes purchased this house in 2006

Why Thalia Hughes chose South West Cornwall

It's roomy and sociable with the big dining/ lounge area. It should be fitted out with all the things you need as it is a normal family house for most of the year!

Hopefully you'll enjoy the lovely new shower room in the 'old airing cupboard!' upstairs. I wanted a little bit of hotel spa luxury although it's quite compact! The house, I imagine would best suit family groups maybe with grandparents? The house next door is also a holiday let sleeping 6 so if you are a group of families you could potentially book together.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the views and the sunrises; Hearing the fishing boats going to and fro on summer morning and evenings. It's tucked away here too; not busy with people sightseeing and traffic despite only being minutes from the main village although you will get people wandering along here searching for the coast path! (further up the hill - dead end here!)

Guestbook comments from the owner

You would barely have known anyone had stayed following Alex's stay here with his two girls. Fantastic guests - place was as a new pin on check out! Thank you very much and I hope you had a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage had wonderful views over St Michael's Mount which could be appreciated from the bench outside. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for the week (with teenagers having wifi was a definite plus). It was a short scenic walk into Mousehole which had great pubs and a very good restaurant along with cafes for breakfast and pasties.

We left planing when we could make a return visit.

A beautiful looking house with an amazing view. First impressions, wow!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing week in a beautiful property in a stunning area. The house on first impressions was lovely. The interior was everything that you could want. Cute living room with enough space for 5 to sit and relax in front of the TV should you wish. The kitchen diner, lounge, very spacious with a solid wood table and chairs. Although the back is small, the front of the property has a wooden table/bench that is brilliant for enjoying your breakfast in the sunshine whilst admiring the sea view. The bedrooms upstairs are light and airy and the front double room is fabulous as you get an elevated view of the sea and, if weather permits, leaving the window and curtains open at night is a total pleasure. Sleep with the sound of waves lapping the shore! But what makes this property such a great place to stay is the fantastic 'host'. Thalia couldn't do enough for us. Her endless knowledge on the area was a boon (and if she didn't know something then friends of hers often did) Always on hand if we had a query it was a pleasure to stay in her lovely property. I would highly recommend staying at St Clements View in what is one of Britain's truly beautiful spots.

Perfect for families due to the proximity of the lovely harbour beaches. Mousehole is a perfect setting for exploring this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether walking, cycling or driving there are numerous stunning things to see within fifteen minutes from here from the open air Minack Theatre to the most amazing beaches such as those at Sennen or Porthcurno. Beautiful wild woodlands, breathtaking clifftops and coastal walks. I will put it all down in the welcome book!
