2 Bed, stress free and central for all activites.

A large 1000 sq ft, two bed apartment a short walk away from all the attractions of Old and New Town Edinburgh. One double, one twin, one bathroom with a separate bath and walk in shower. Well equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and washer drier - ideal for those travelling with children. A cot or an extra bed can be provided if needed. A spacious sitting room and small courtyard outside for that extra bit of peace and quiet.

About Jackie

We came to Edinburgh 14 years ago as a family on the suggestion of my husband who remembered visiting his grandparents here as a child and loving it. He thought it was a great place to live and bring up the family - he was right! Over the years Edinburgh has really flourished and now has such a variety of activities, restaurants, walks and bars. All in such a small area. It's ideal for all types of visitors.

Why Jackie chose Edinburgh

This part of Edinburgh is a lovely secret - right in the middle of everything but surrounded by parks and gardens making it one of the quietest places to be in a busy city. Within 20 minutes walk (or much less) you could be on your way up to the top of Arthurs Seat, looking round the Scottish Parliament, seeing where Mary Queen of Scots lover was murdered in Holyrood Palace, walking up the Royal Mile which leads to the castle, shopping in Princes Street, admiring the collections in National, royal and commercial art galleries, eating some of the best food in Scotland (we have a Michelin starred restaurant at the end of the road), drinking some of the rarest whiskies in the world, or simply standing and looking at the history of Edinburgh from the top of Calton Hill. One visit is never enough.

What makes this apartment unique

This property is spacious and welcoming. It provides a comfortable place to take a break from sightseeing but is only a walk away from most things and a short taxi, bus or tram ride away from the rest. If you come by car there is ample on street parking. The current cost is £2.50 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8.30 -5.30. If you come by train you can walk from Waverley station, it takes about 20 minutes. If you fly, the airport bus takes you to Waverley and you can walk from there, or take the new tram which takes you to York place, a slightly shorter walk.The apartment has everything laid out on a single floor although the access to the front door is down a set of steps so not wheel chair accessible. If you go and see the Georgian House museum then come back to the flat, you can see how everything was designed and its fun to be living in a part of history even for a while and imagine the previous occupants over the centuries.

Whether you're coming for a city break, to follow the trail of many writers, to see shows in the many festivals or to take part in any of our sporting events (5 mins from Holyrood park, 20 mins from the Royal Commonwealth Pool), we're in just the right spot.

Classy and comfortable

Such a lovely apartment. Beautifully furnished (the bathroom is to die for!) and welcoming at the same time. Lots of space to accommodate 2 sets of travelers. Easy walk to the Royal Mile and all nearby sights. One small wish would be for the wifi to be a bit stronger. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Just lovely.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Jackie's beautiful flat for a very short 2 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer. Jackie was a very gracious host welcoming us at the door, showing us the flat and helping us make the most of our very short stay. The flat is located on a beautiful quiet street yet close walking distance to restaurants, shops and the center of town. The flat itself is immaculate and has everything you need. Jackie uses beautiful linens and dishes and many other nice touches to make your stay comfortable. She even provided shortbread, coffee and tea which was a nice touch after a long journey there. The bathroom is beautiful, modern and very large. The bedrooms were lovely and easily accommodated our family of 4. The family room is nice and open to the kitchen and has a large sofa for relaxing. I loved the windows in this Georgian home. I could go on and on about how wonderful it is here. I would highly recommend Jackie's flat and if I am ever lucky enough to visit Edinburgh again, I would love to stay here. Thank you Jackie!

Great place, great location, great service and hospitality

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a few days earlier this month. The size of the aparment was perfect for our family of four. The apartment is very nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. One bedroom has a double bed and the other two singles. The kitchen is nicely stocked. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space in the late afternoon with a drink.

Jackie is a great host. She was very responsive to emails and texts. She is warm and welcoming. She accomodated our needs and gave great directions and suggestions about where to go in the neighborhood.

We are very glad to recommend this apartment.
