The Seafoam is a newly renovated year-round cottage in the Chalker Beach community in Old Saybrook, CT. Everything - inside and out - is brand new, and the beach is only a 3 minute walk away!! The kitchen is equipped with a range, toaster, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker with seating for four - although there are several extra chairs for the friends you'll make while you're here! The bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, and closet. (Bring sheets and towels.) The living room has a queen sleeper sofa, cable TV, and broadband internet connection for the rare inclement weather (you supply the computer). The updated full bath has a stand-up shower, but the enclosed outside shower is the guest favorite! The large deck off the kitchen has seating for four, and leads to a back yard with a gas grill. Watch the sunrise over the marsh from your bedroom window, and the sun set from the back deck.
Went there for a weekend getaway and just loved the place, the town and the close proximity to the beach...just a short block away. House had everything we needed. Would love to return.
Seafoam Palace at Chalker Beach was outstanding. Very clean, cozy and relaxing. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a summer vacation. Ron and Betsey have an outstanding property and we look forward to returning in the future. We would highly recommend to all people looking for an excellent beach rental!

Property was clean and well maintained. A slightly larger bathroom shower would have been nice! It was the perfect size for my husband and I and two of our young grandsons.
It was a lovely neighborhood. Everyone was friendly, people out walking, stopping to chat. The public beach area was a 3 minute walk and very clean. My grandsons enjoyed looking for shells, playing in the water and then returning to the house and taking a shower "outside". The proximity of shopping, great restaurants, other beaches such as Harvey's, the town of Old Saybrook, etc. made it an ideal location to stay.
Owner of the house told us about a great place to catch crabs. Even though we only caught one that was good size, it was fun to go back to the house, steam and share. Such a treat.
We were only there for two days, but would stay again and recommend to family and friends.

We had a wonderful week in the Seafoam Palace on Chalker Beach! The home was clean and exactly as we expected. The owners were very nice and right in the back yard in case we needed anything. It was a great trip with 2 small children. Tons of sea creatures at the beach, nice calm waters, and only 30 min to the Mystic Aquarium! We tried a few near-by restaurants and were very pleased with dine in and take out. Highly recommended!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage had all the comforts of home. Very short walk to the beach. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. Lots of resturants nearby to choose from. We would most likely consider staying there again when vacationing in Old Saybrook.
We loved Seafoam cottage! My boyfriend and I went for a romantic getaway weekend and we loved how close we were to the beach. Also all the stores you need are very close by. I'd definitely recommend trying the creme brûlée French toast at J.A.M.S. and also trying not Luigis restaurant for dinner they have huge portions and it's delicious Italian food. I can't wait to stay again next summer!
The Seafoam Palace is the perfect location for a summer getaway, whether you're looking for romance or family fun! The private beach is a very short walk away, and there are plenty of activities for the kids at the Chalker Beach clubhouse.
