3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 175 m2 spacious townhouse right by the Atlantic Oceon.

House built in 1930´s architecturally restored in 2002 and has been featured in design publications in Iceland. House is own by an architect and features many design features such as furniture, artifacts and colorful art collections both local and native american.

Entry on first level, second level contains living rm, dining rm, bath rm, bedrm and a kitchen with a large balcony. Top level contains 2 double bedrm, bathroom and a large t.v. rm with an office space.

The house has beautiful views toward the southern penensula and whales are common both Orcas and Humpback whales can be spotted just a 100 meters from the house. The south penensula is known for its geothermal activity with many geysers and lava rock formations. Winter brings Norhern Lights and 5 min drive, on the southern tip of the penensula, 5 min drive, is the most popular sight for viewing the phenomena.

Historical down town Keflavík is in the city center and walking distance from shops, boutiques, pubs, restaurants and museums. One could say that Keflavík is a suburb of Reykjavík for it is only 30 min drive to the city and 15 min to the Blue Lagoon.

About Dagný Alda

My name is Dagný Alda and I was born and raised in Iceland. I got my degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1988. I live part of the year in India where I work as a guide and a yoga instructor and part of the year, summers, I own and oporate a small restaurant and a tourist information center in the westfjord of Iceland. I love to cook, and consern myself in the local politics in my hometown of Keflavík.

Why Dagný Alda chose Iceland

The southern penensula is loaded with geological phenomenas and full of beautiful hiking trails and sites to visit. It is an ideal place to stay for it is close to the country as well as the city. The oceon fills almost all views of the house and the balcony faces the west for the most glorious sunsets. My kitchen is loaded with spices and great cookware for those interested in cooking, (gas stove) baking and dining. It is a house that is unlike all others because of the history, colorful walls and artifacts. Enjoy!

With out a doubt the house has one of the best views in town and is a heartbeat away from everything.

All the beds have new mattresses, new down comforters and pillows, white new linnen and towels.

Ideally situated for a lovely stay in Iceland.

A very nice quirky property, real home from home. Very warm and spacious and ideal for two couples. It was nice being so near to the coast and views from the windows were great.

Property was well equipped but would perhaps benefit from having a hanging rail for clothes in the double bedrooms.

Property is less than 10mins from Keflavik airport which was ideal for us as we had a late arrival and early departure. Despite being so close there was no problems with plane noise.

Dagny was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We felt so at home in this spacious, unique and comfortable home in Keflavik.

At the end of a day of sightseeing, we found a home away from home at Dagny's home in Keflavik. The decor is wonderfully eclectic and lovely, including comfortable, inviting furniture and a well-equipped kitchen. An added plus was in having a washer and dryer to use. The home is very close to the sea and our grandchildren loved the 'Giant's home' across the street. Grocery stores were nearby and well-stocked. The drive to Reykavik did not seem onerous at all and the house is fairly close to the Blue Lagoon. And perhaps best of all, there is a terrific ice cream shop right next door. We were a group of five and having both a living room and family room allowed for quiet reading for some and watching the Olympics for others. The only slight glitch we encountered was in operating the appliances which were quite different from our own in the States, but we managed.

Wonderful atmosphere.

This is a great place to stay! It was clean and spacious. Very unique in decorations and very comfortable.

Dagny was great to deal with and the house is very easy to find. The view is spectacular especially the sunsets, right from inside the house.

As mentioned previous it is only 10-15 minutes from the airport, yet we never heard the plane overhead.

Great restaurants walking distance from the house, as well as a little shopping and a museum or two.

I would recommend this spot for cleanings and convenience.

Incredibly Comfortable

This was the perfect place to be our home base as we explored Iceland. I loved how close it was to the airport especially since we arrived after midnight and then had to catch an early morning flight home. It was well-appointed and comfortable. The sea views were beautiful to wake up to each morning. We could walk to the super market and shops. Dagny was incredible to work with. She was very responsive.

Great Location

Had a lovely stay. Dagny was great to deal with throughout the booking and arrival process. The house is really nice and has an old world feel to it. It is in a good location for the old town and accessing the major road system. Nice and quiet and the beds were really comfortable. It had all we needed for self catering and we were very cosy once we returned from our travels each day. Although only ten minutes from the airport we never heard it at all so I assume all flights went away from the town and out to sea. All in all we had a very good stay and would recommend it to travellers. Thanks Dagny.

Der Wohlfühleffekt in diesem Ferienhaus tritt sofort beim Betreten ein und hält bis zur letzten Minute des Aufenthaltes an. Alles sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir haben jeden Tag gekocht, was in der Küche sehr viel Spass gemacht hat. Die Küchenausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen...Alles da!! Die Wohnungsübergabe erfolgte problemlos über einen Schlüsselsafe, kurze Kontaktaufnahme mit Dagny...ganz entspannt! Der Blick vom Wohnzimmer und vom Dachstudio geht direkt auf das offene Meer, traumhaft!

Island hat uns bei unserem ersten Besuch sehr gut gefallen. Nachteil...es ist größer als wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Aber dennoch, die 4 ganzen Tage in Keflavik waren ausreichend einige Highligts Islands von dort aus zu entdecken. 1.Tag: Golden Circle mit all seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten, 2.Tag: Halbinsel Reykjanes, auch sehr schön, 3. Tag: Stadt Reykjavik, 4. Tag: Blaue Lagune...Onlinereservierung ca. zwei Tage vorher nicht vergessen!! So individuell geht es natürlich nur mit einem Mietwagen. Den hatten wir schon von zu Hause aus rechtzeitig gebucht.

Schmeckt nach mehr!!!
