'Villa Rouge' has been a popular base for tourist destination for the last 50 years due to its perfect position covering over 6000m2 of landscaped gardens, orchard and vineyard in the centre of the Corbiere 'wine route'. The national bicycle routes criss-cross through Corbiere providing a rich choice of countryside from the the 100 Sq Km of pine forests with graded mountain bike tracks through to the gentle promenade of the Canal du Midi and coastal paths.

'Villa Rouge' caters for visitors all year around from skiing groups heading up for a couple of days in the Pyrenees (1hr30m to ski resorts) through to Spring and Autumn hikers heading for the beautiful lavender laden hills and of course the summer sun worshippers who are spoilt for choice between pool, sea, river or lake. Most of the Languedoc region is protected as a national park so beaches and forests remain pristine and with over 70 km of beach you can be assured of a place to call your own from the lively beaches of Narbonne to the tranquil lost oasis of 'Franqui Plage' (20 mins).

The region is steeped in history as it was the centre of the 11th Century 'Cathar' religion which due to its disagreements with Rome resulted in the building of numerous fine castles and fortifications, the most famous being Carcassonne Castle (20 mins).

With the Spanish border being only 30 mins away you can easily go on a gastronomic tour covering the fine southern French cuisine with its goats cheeses, cassoulet, duck specialities and fine wine but also dip into the Catalan culture of Tapas, seafood and margaritas. Barcelona is only 1hr30m away by car or an hour by train from Narbone station.

Fanstastic house, highly recommended!
We were very satisfied with house and how the owners treated us from the first moment, when booking and while we were there responding to any question we could had. The house is just amazing, it is really comfy and has all the services you can imagine. Our family loves cooking and the kitchen had all we need and more. Really, it was like being at home, we did not miss anything. It was a shame we couldn't enjoy the swimming since it was winter time but we enjoyed the fireplace inside instead. If you are looking for a big house to spent time with friends or family members, this is a great choice! I highly recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic Villa
We stayed at this very beautiful villa and had a fantastic time, absolutely everything is catered for, beautifully fitted out to the very highest standard, decor, furniture and fittings, yet still has a warm and welcoming feel. The bedrooms/bathrooms are superb, Outside is heaven, wonderful pool, barbecue and sunbathing area, with a great view of the mountains. The local vicinity has so much to offer, walks, cycling, the sea and sightseeing. Can't wait to go again and would certainly recommend to my friends and relatives. Anne Kitching, Warwickshire

Tranquil, Beautiful and Exceptionally Well-Appointed Property
Our family chose Villa Rouge for a recent vacation because of the location, which was central for our enjoyment of the vineyards and nearby historical areas of interest. The information provided to us prior to our arrival, by Mr. Redfern, the owner, was excellent and very complete. It provided valuable information about travel to the Villa, as well as excellent recommendations for exploration of the area. Villa Rouge is very private and is aesthetically quite pleasing. The home is lovely and very well designed. As the website will tell you, it can accommodate many people; I can envision a large party being very comfortable at the Villa. The view from the terrace area is amazing as the light in the valley is beautiful in the evening hours. The rooms of the home are comfortable, spacious and well appointed. There are actually three kitchens on the property. Two in the main house, and a complete kitchen in the pool house fitted with a grill. The kitchens are well supplied for serious culinary efforts. Local shops have amazing local rabbit, lamb, pintade, locally made sausages and many other delicious things. The famous vineyards of Les Corbières surround the property. This is a wonderful property and I hope to return there again!
