A lovely cozy holiday home

  • 5 of 5

We came to Le Grand Valtin and stayed in the house called Le Cheval Blanc. A nice and cosy house. We came to ski. However like anywhere else in the world, the weather patterns are changing rapidly and the warming of the globe did not assist us greatly with snow in this region. But we did some skiing at La Bresse. It is a lovely area with beautiful forests. The most rainy day we took a trip to Colmar, which is a lovely "Vakwerk" town about an hour diving from Le Valtin.

The last day of our holiday it started to snow and within 3 hours the world looked like a fairytale skiing resort. This is definitely a place we'd like to come back to, even last minute when there is lots of new powdery snow.

Till next time!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and delighted you enjoyed your stay at Cheval Blanc. Glad you also enjoyed the skiing in the Vosges when the weather allowed but on the rainy days it allowed you to find and enjoy Colmar, one of the most beautiful and interesting towns in the area.

We stayed at "le cheval blanc" for a week.

The gite is nicely furnished and the location is excellent for walks, sightseeing or just to enjoy the beatiful nature.

Moreover Dawn is an excellent cooker, what a lemon tart and crumble!!!

We will come back for sure !

Very nice and cosy place in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We spend a very relaxing weekend here. When we arrived at a cold evening everything was arranged for and we were welcomed by a nice fire in the fireplace. The apartment is very nice and is getting a lot of light. Everything was as described.

The surrounding area is very beautiful and offers a lot of nice hiking trails.

We are looking forward to staying here again some day.
