Travellers looking for accommodation combining privacy, traditional architecture and a rich history will fall in love with this beautiful villa, situated in the picturesque east Andros village of Patouria.
Just 2km from the sea and a 10 minute drive from the island's architecturally stunning main town with its fine museums and art galleries, this villa lures guests with its authentic old-world charm. The greenery of the surrounding vegetation - unusual amongst the Cycladic Islands - is reflected in the various names bestowed on the island since ancient times. Throughout its history Andros has been known as 'Idrousa' and 'Lasia', meaning 'water', after the many streams and rivers dotting the island.
Nestled quietly amongst old Cypress trees and overlooking the Aegean sea, the villa is an excellent example of the historic aristocratic residences Andros is famed for. Accommodating up to 10 guests, the villa's design is traditional, boasting many original features but lacking none of the modern comforts. The antique furniture and artworks reflect the villa's long history and that of Andros itself. It is an excellent choice for family groups, and those looking for time out to relax and be inspired by the surrounding beauty and tranquility.
Once owned by an artist, a sojourn here allows you the opportunity to step back in time and experience island life as it was a century ago
"The villa comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests, making it a great choice for small to medium groups.
Both the lower and upper floors form independent living areas with their own bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. The ground floor's 2 bedrooms sleep up to 6 persons (1 x double bed plus 2 x singles, and 1 x 2 singles), whilst the two bedrooms on the upper floor sleep up to 4 persons (1 x double bed and 1 x 2 singles).
An additional W.C. can be found in the garden just outside the villa.
Much of the interior furniture is antique, with some pieces being with the villa since its construction. The ground floor kitchen still has its original oven, in perfect working condition no less! Similarly, many of the paintings, craft and household items found within have been lovingly collected throughout the years by the villa's various owners, reflecting gradually changing island styles."
