July getaway at Sanibel Arms

This is our 6th time using VRBO to find a vacation rental and all 6 times have been great. This trip we stayed in unit B3 for a week in July. July in Florida is hot, humid and stormy in the afternoons but otherwise very relaxing. Unit was clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. Gas grills out back were a plus since we grilled several times during our stay. Staff at Sanibel Arms was great and very friendly. Unit was on the canal and my husband loved to be able to fish the canal or walk across the street to fish in the ocean. Would definitely come back and maybe stay in a 2 bedroom.

We Love This Unit!

This was our 3rd stay at the Sanibel Arms and our 2nd time in this unit. The unit is perfect with all the comforts of home. Fully stocked kitchen, full size washer and dryer in unit, very clean and well kept. The furniture and bed are very comfortable. This side of the island is so much more peaceful than West Gulf Dr., were we had always stayed previously. After discovering these condos, we found a new favorite. The canal behind the unit is quiet and it was nice to go out and grill and sit out on the dock in the evening. Very private and relaxing. The whole complex is beautifully kept, and the beach is gorgeous! The staff is very friendly and helpful also. We are looking forward to our next visit and would definitely recommend this condo to everyone! Thanks for a wonderful vacation spot!!!

Adequate Accommodation

On the positive side the unit is spacious, the bed and furniture are comfortable and up-to-date. The on-site management is friendly, responsive and courteous. The grounds, pool and common areas are great. From the listing we expected a patio or lanai looking out at the canal. The reality is that to sit and watch the canal, you must walk outside and go around the building to the very nice canal patio which we did on several evenings.

This unit is okay, but needs a few things. 1. The cleaning needs more attention. The bathroom floor, shower and tile floors were dirty around the walls from 10-12 inches out. The manager offered to re-clean but we had moved all our stuff in and declined. 2. The kitchen floor tiles are cracked and loose. They were covered with a throw rug. This condition should be fixed immediately, not deferred until the unit is not reserved and convenient. Pick a day, make the unit unavailable and fix it. 3. The kitchen supplies need improvement. The kitchen stuff looked like it was all obtained at yard sales.There were no metal implements (meat fork, spatula etc). Pots, pans, and fry pans are lacking. There should be more pots with matching lids at least another non-stick fry pan and baking sheets or pans. There were no serving bowls.

We have been staying on West Gulf Drive for 25 years and tried the East Drive for the first time. We were completely satisfied with the area and this unit. We have fallen in love with the canal view. It was so private and so relaxing that I don't think we will ever go back to beach front. Watched people fish, manatee and dolphin swim past, and b-b-q ed fresh fish. We could not have been more pleased.

Great condo!!!

My husband and I stayed for eight nights in this condo to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I had told the owner that I wanted a clean and well maintained unit and that is exactly what we got. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels for our stay and the unit was beautifully decorated. The owner told me that if we booked one week this year, we would want to book two weeks next year and she was right.

The staff at Sanibel Arms was wonderful. Monica was a joy to work with and made several suggestions of places to dine and shop and her suggestions were perfect for our trip.

amazing condo

Stayed for a week this past April with a friend for some much needed rest and relaxation. I must say the condo was perfect and everything I was expecting. Having stayed at many condos on the island over the past 15 years, this unit delivered on comfort, location, price and professional staff. Planning to return as soon as possible.
