Saturna Seaside is a beautiful, spacious (3400 available sq ft) oceanfront home in the Canadian Gulf Islands on Saturna Island.
Some of this home's most compelling features are the breathtaking views of Winter Cove, Samuel Island, Boat Pass, Anniversary Island and the lights of Grouse Mountain at night.
While cooking dinner, or relaxing in the living room or on the deck of Saturna Seaside, one can view the spectacular sunset, watch the boats negotiate the challenging waters of Boat Pass, or watch your guests play in the water below. Saturna Seaside offers seclusion from bustle and crowds. It is ideal for adults or families seeking a relaxing and recreational retreat from hectic lives.
Our private walk-on beach access makes water play and kayak launching a dream. The two lawn areas, one ocean side and one forest side, are great for volleyball, badminton, croquet or simply lounging.
The rooms at Saturna Seaside are spacious and comfortable. Saturna Island itself offers pristine forest, mountain, coastal and marine environments that one can explore on bike, on foot or by boat. We've spotted eagles, herons, otters, deer and seals near our home and whales within a 15 minute drive.
Please note: Since it is almost impossible to complete all transactions (rental agreement written, received, reviewed, signed and received back), all within the 24 hour after a booking request or BOOK-IT is made with HOMEAWAY or VRBO, booking requests for dates starting less than 72 hours from booking request will probably be denied. We require a RENTAL AGREEMENT and other documents read and signed, copy of drivers license, names of all guests over 18 and ages of guests under 18. The person who signed the RA must be present during the rental period.
The price on HomeAway is whatever currency you check. They do the FX conversions. C$xxx.xx means Canadian dollars and $xxx.xx means US dollars.

The following are a few notes that should be considered when assessing the suitability of our home with your needs:
Yes, our home is waterfront. You can walk right down to the ocean.
We ask that you indicate the total number of guests, names of everyone over 18, and the ages of all children.
The person(s) signing the rental agreement must be over 25 and be present during the entire rental period.
A photo copy of your drivers license is required when submitting your rental agreement application.
Also note: our home is not "baby or child proof". There are stairs inside and outside, unlocked cupboards containing cleaning supplies, second story deck, breakable/delicate items, slate pool table with accessory equipment and our home is waterfront with very easy water access.
PETS, SMOKING, PARTIES and FIRES (including fireworks) are not allowed on our property, inside or outside.
Special EVENTS, PARTIES, DINNERS, CELEBRATIONS, ETC. involving guests that are not on the rental agreement are not allowed. MAXIMUM 8 GUESTS total is strict.

Answers to other FAQ:
Yes, there is a general store on the island.
Yes, the kayaks, life jackets, bikes and helmets, inside and outside games and gas BBQ are available for our guests use during the summer. During the rest of the year, these may be available by special arrangement only.
No more than two vehicles may park on our property.
We do not have Wifi.
We take pride in our making our home comfortable for our guests, and expect reciprocal respect for our home from all our guests.
25% of total amount is due at time of booking the reservation, and the remainder is due 60 days prior to scheduled check in.
As far as "tips" about the island: Saturna is a beautiful island with more than 50% park. Lots of nature: birds, whales, otters, eagles, goats, seals, flowers, dears, .....not much shopping.
But there is a cafe, a pub, bike rental, kayak/paddle board rental, guided boat excursions, hiking trails and beaches.
Kayaking is easy from our home. You can walk down our walkway, then down rock stairs to the water.
As for “things to do” please check my web site, and Saturna Island tourism. There is no movie theater or shopping mall on Saturna. Mostly parks, hiking, biking, birding, whale watching etc.
Also, please note our house is not baby proof.
WI-FI and Internet info:
We do NOT have WiFi at our home. However, this is how we deal with the need to connect: There is cell coverage at our home, so we access the internet with cell data, ie email texting etc. Cell phones, iPads, etc come in very handy. Sometimes you can set up your own “hot-spot” tether devices etc. etc. If you need to have WiFi say for work, FaceTime, Skype etc., there is WiFi at the following locations: Saturna Cafe/General Store both inside and outside on deck, LightHouse Pub, Saturna Recreation Center parking lot, Point Store and Ferry Terminal Waiting Room (sometimes). If you are having trouble, just ask around, someone will help you. Doing work in the Pub, Cafe, etc is Perfectly Acceptable. Everyone does it this way. But as you know public WiFi is not secure.
