Overview

About the property

Lodge, 6 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 5 Baths, (Sleeps 17-20)

The Lucky Dog Lodge is the perfect alternative to a full service guest lodge at roughly a tenth of the price. If your party has willing cooks, or an appetite for the many superb food services of the Gallatin Valley, then come enjoy all the privacy you want and all the space you need!

The Lucky Dog is palatial comfort, pure and simple. This grand log structure, built with gleaming ponderosa pine logs from Montana forests, recalls the majestic natural beauty of the Rockies. As you enter, your eye is immediately drawn to the third floor balcony and the massive logs and ridge pole that dominate the interior. The fir tongue-and-groove ceiling is lit by myriad natural light sources. The open design and high ceilings create a spacious and airy feel.

Radiant floor heating and thick log walls maintain a comfortable temperature year-round. Wood decks extend from the second and third floors, as well a large ground level deck, offering views of a number of famous mountain ranges and the Gallatin River. Relax to the rushing of the Gallatin in log beds, reclaimed from an old Montana ranch. Better yet, soak in the balcony hot tub overlooking the river as the sun sets behind the magnificent Spanish Peaks.

The great hall on the main floor harbors a fully equipped kitchen, complete with pine breakfast bar and a large dining area. The comfortable relaxing area is also perfect for family games or business retreat meetings.

Upstairs are two levels of living quarters: 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms supporting at least 15 guests (like anywhere, depends how close together they are willing to live and sleep). Regarding sleeping places, there are 3 queen beds, 6 x-long twins, 2 twins, 1 double, 3 floor pads (surprisingly comfortable). Mathematically that’s at least 20 persons but if you are bringing together a group of business associates they may not be comfortable sharing beds or bedrooms.

If you need more rooms, consider reserving our beautiful River Bend Cabin. It’s just next door and will comfortably accommodate an additional 6 guests.

Lucky Dog Lodge 2nd floor has 4 bedrooms: 3 of those bedrooms have a queen size bed, 1 bedroom has two x-long twin beds

Lucky Dog Lodge 3rd floor has 2 large bedrooms: There are 4 x-long twin beds in one of those bedrooms, the other bedroom has 2 regular twins and a full size bed.

Extra sleeping options: 3 high quality floor pads (3-section fold out upholstered pads) that can be made up with bedding main floor couches

Location The Lucky Dog is located conveniently 20 minutes from the Bozeman airport and 12 minutes from Montana State University or the heart of Bozeman. The small town of Four Corners is only 3 minutes away with food, supplies, fishing guides and equipment. Amazing hiking, rafting, skiing, horseback riding, and golf destinations are within an hour in almost any direction from the Lodge. Yellowstone National Park is a gorgeous 1.5 hour drive south. Exercise and relaxation at the Bozeman Hot Springs is a short walk away, offering heated pools, a fitness center, and saunas.

Besides the ability to fish the legendary Gallatin from your back yard, fishing spots along the Missouri, Yellowstone, Madison, and their countless tributaries are all within a short drive from this breath taking adventure command center!

Fishing guide service available – special rates for October/April

Guestbook comments from the owner

Paul,

This is just a little note of thanks. We thoroughly enjoyed our nights (July 08) at the Lucky Dog Lodge. The lodge, yard and river access were all tremendous. We will definitely keep the Lucky Dog Lodge in mind for future gatherings."

Sincerely, D J

Family ski trip

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Lucky Dog Lodge for three days with my son, sons-in-law, and grandsons while we skied at Bridger and Big Sky. Also spent an hour or so each evening at Bozeman Hot Springs which is almost within walking distance of the Lodge. The Lodge was fantastic. Excellent furnishings, comfortable beds, great location. Hope to return soon.

We loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Lucky Dog Lodge for my daughters wedding party - bridesmaids/groomsmen & significant others, all coming from out of town. It was perfect. Beautiful house, great layout of rooms & bathrooms for a large group, well supplied, VERY CLEAN. Paul was great to work with. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Would definitely recommend.

Great owner response, beautiful spacious house, nice comfortable beds

  • 4 of 5

Great place, easy to find. Nice owners, nice comfortable beds. Plenty of towels provided. Nice hot water! My only criticism is that noise can carry in the home. We could hear people in the kitchen talking in the first floor bedrooms. Just bring a set of earplugs if you are a light sleeper and have a full house. All around, I'd recommend it at any rate.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We all absolutely loved our stay at the Lucky Dog Lodge. And, by all....I mean all 18 of us! We never felt overcrowded or bored and it was snowing buckets so we had lots of indoor time. My daughter's and daughter in law's had quite alot of fun creating wonderful meals, snacks and beverages. And, the huge dning room table was always in use for games, conversations and great food. My nieces and granddaughter adopted the living room corner and watched videos galore. And, quiet time could be had in the other corner living room area with a comfy couch and fireplace. We had pets with us and there was also plenty of room for them! Rooms were good and all the upstairs rooms were pleasant and quiet. The hot tub was also a huge hit. Thanks for such a wonderful place for our family get together/ Christmas in January!

Home Style Gathering

  • 5 of 5

To start out, the lodge and the story behind it are inspirational. You can feel the love that went into it as soon as you walk in the door. It has a feeling of a comfortable home. The downstairs space allows for the entire group to spend time together. The kitchen is fully stocked with every pot, pan, utensil, cups, plates, coffee pots,....you will ever need. The gigantic table and the comfy couches are natural gathering spots. There are cozy spots within the big room that allow for multiple conversations to happen or just a spot to snuggle. We were able to sleep 17 people very comfortably. The rooms were quiet and there is a beautiful view from every window. The sheets, towels, and soaps were of good quality and the bedding was comfortable. There are many bathrooms which is great when you have that many people. The views from the balconies (especially the 3rd floor) make it worth the stairs. It is a great location. When you are there it feels like you are out in the wilderness but it is a short drive to town. The Lucky Dog Lodge will be a part of our memories for years. Not only was it a great stay but the Cats won the Battle of the Brawl at home!

Comfortable and well equipped lodge.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lodge recently as the base for a 50th high school reunion. It worked out beautifully. The first floor had an open floor plan with several furniture grouping allowing multiple conversation areas. Dining tables were big enough to accommodate out large group. The kitchen was wonderful to work in and well equipped. Everyone was well satisfied with the sleeping accommodations and bathrooms. It included a laundry which at least some of our group used. We had a great time and everyone commented on what a good choice the lodge had been.
