Recently renovated by craftsmen who rebuilt Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

The property consists of 1500 sq.feet of luxurious living place with a tall and spacious open-plan lounge ,dining room and modern kitchen plus a galleried double bedroom and bathroom reached by a winding oak staircase.The 2 metre wide bed has been lovingly constructed using beams from oaks that were felled over 500 years ago.Windows,13 feet tall overlook, the four and a half acre gardens of the !6th century manor house.The barn is approached by a secluded drive and there is ample parking space .

Guests are free to wander in the gardens and woods or sit and gaze over the lawns in elevated picnic areas ,There are both charcoal and gas barbecues.

Just 20 miles from Heathrow Airport and 45 minutes from Gatwick Airport, Cowshot Manor is easy to reach by car via the M25 , M3 or A3. London's Waterloo Station is 40 minutes from Brookwood,our local railway station. So many places are easily accessible by car from your Cowshot home away from home :-

Ascot, Windsor, Winchester, Henley, Portsmouth, Petworth, Richmond, Hampton Court and The Surrey Hills can all be reached within an hour's drive.

Bath, Oxford, Blenheim Palace,The New Forest, Canterbury, Hever Castle and Chartwell take only a little longer.

For sports fans there's horse racing at Ascot, Sandown Park and Kempton Park, polo at Windsor, rugby at Twickenham and tennis at Wimbledon. The National Shooting Centre, Bisley is right on our doorstep.There are many first class golf courses in the area including Wentworth , Sunningdale. Royal Berkshire and St George's Hill.

Both Woking and Guildford have flourishing modern theatres and London's West End theatres can be reached in an hour .

Superb pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets can be found in the local villages of Pirbright, St Johns, Chobham and Sunninghill .

The Basingstoke Canal is 200 metres away and from there you can walk or cycle to The Thames at Weybridge or Hook near Basingstoke.

Geoff and Sue Howe purchased Cowshot Manor in 1982 and its renovation has been a labour of love, Geoff is a retired marketing consultant who started his own business with Sue in 1978 . His work took him to many parts of the world and his company had offices in London, Bristol and Hampton and he also started his own offices in Hong Kong, the USA and Czech Republic.Geoff and Sue have 3 sons.

Having spent over 40 years looking after clients Geoff is keen to help you make the most of your vacation. Cowshot is unique in that it is listed as a property of historic interest but it has been turned into a very special contemporary and private place to relax and enjoy the best that England has to offer.

We provide a general welcome pack:

eggs, bacon, bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, cereal, marmalade , mineral water and a bottle of wine. There are also basic cooking essentials (oil, salt, vinegar etc). The fridge dispenses ice and filtered water. Should you require any specific items please let us know. There are smart TV's with broadband access in both the lounge and bedroom.

There are so many visitor attractions within a short drive or rail journey from Cowshot. Stonehenge, Hampton Court, Windsor, Henley, Winchester, Petworth, London,Guildford and The Surrey Hills are accessible within 1 hour. Oxford, Bath, Salisbury,Canterbury, Portsmouth,The New Forest, Chartwell and Hever Castle within 2 hours, using very good road and rail links. There are many very good pubs and restaurants in local villages like Pirbright, St Johns, and Chobham as well as in Guildford and Woking both 6 miles away There are many fine Military Museums nearby like The Royal Army Medical Corps Museum at Mitchett. Cowshot Barn is adjacent to The National Shooting Centre Bisley and The Brookwood Military Cemetery which is the final resting place of so many soldiers, sailors and airman from Great Britain,America , Poland, Czechoslovakia, France,Canada, Australia and other parts of the Commonwealth The cemetery is meticulously maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission . The Military cemetery is part of Brookwood Cemetery which was established in the Mid 19th Century and is the largest cemetery in Europe.

The 16th century barn sits within the 4-and-a-half acre grounds of Cowshot Manor an area which has been settled since Anglo-Saxon times .The barn has has been painstakingly renovated by craftsmen from the company that rebuilt Shakespeare's Globe Theatre .

There are live theatres close by at Woking, Guildford, Windsor and Richmond and London's theatre land can be reached within an hour by frequent trains.

For sports fans Cowshot is a great base for rugby at Twickenham , tennis at Wimbledon, golf at Wentworth or Sunningdale ,polo at Windsor Great Park and Richmond, rowing at Henley and shooting at Bisley. The barn is 200 metres from the picturesque Basingstoke Canal and bikes are available to cycle along it as far as the River Thames at Weybridge in one direction or Hampshire in the other .Even those who cycle infrequently will find the canal-side rides no great difficulty as the paths are generally well-maintained.

The nearest City is Guildford famous for its Cathedral which featured in the film "Omen " and which has a very popular High Street for shoppers .South of Guildford are the Surrey Hills designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and which has many places of historical interest as listed by The National Trust .
