The wineries are located in the place of Calhau, village of Piedade, Lajes do Pico county.

The parish of Mercy was founded approximately in 1506.

Piety is a town that lives off agriculture, fishing and winemaking. We can observe the typical stalls of vines that were built with volcanic rock resulting from cleaning the fields and used to protect crops, wind.

At Piety live about 900 inhabitants and is one of the most developed villages on the island of Pico. It has two fishing harbors, a park (Matos Soutos) with extensive range flowers, stone houses that show the hard work of our ancestors.

A lighthouse is located at the tip of the island of Pico in place of Manhenha. The parish da Piedade has restaurant, cafes, a supermarket and two balconies Bank (MPG and Banif).

The cellars were places where our ancestors were the traditional wine of the island, the smell of wine.

The Cat's Cellar is a typical house of the island of Pico. The name given to this winery cat is due to the fact that it belonged to my Uncle Eduardo who had cat as your nickname.

Adega Nunes

As well as Nunes name given to another winery is due to the fact that it belonged to my great-grandfather whose name was Nunes. Hence the designation Nunes cellar. This house has the same characteristics of a typical cellar of the Island.

The Pico Island is developed around the volcano, with 2351 meters of altitude, which gives it its name. The Pico has an oblong shape - 42 km long and 15.2 wide - with a total area of ​​447 km2.
