Villa Delfino is a luxury 4 bedroomed villa in an exclusive area of Javea, a short walking distance to La Falzia Viewpoint, from where there are magnificent views of the sea and La Barraca beach.
The villa is south facing with beautiful gardens and fully hedged ensuring privacy. The large 10 x 5 metre, optionally heated, swimming pool has 'roman steps' with children’s slide. Comfortably furnished with a large and sunny open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with double doors opening up to the garden and naya. On the ground floor there is one double bedroom leading to a terrace, and full en-suite bathroom (separate shower cubicle). On the first floor there is one double bedroom with full en-suite shower room that benefits from a balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and country views. Two bedrooms each with twin beds one with access to balcony and one further separate bathroom with shower. The villa's covered and uncovered terraces provide an excellent setting for al-fresco dining.
Golf: Approximately 12 kms away at Jesus Pobre is the 27 hole course of the Marriott La Sella Golf and Spa Resort. The 9 hole (2x9 for 18) Javea Golf Club is closest about 12 minutes away and offers a beautiful and manicured course. Both courses are challenging and offer great views. The Club de Golf Ifach near Moraira towards Calpe is another demanding 9 hole with fabulous views of Ifach. Other courses include the 18 hole Seve Ballasteros designed Club de Golf Oliva about 25 kms away and just south of Valencia is the famous links course of El Saler.
We spent a week at this beautiful villa in Javea with our two sons, their partners and our two granddaughters and were truly delighted with the entire experience. We booked our holiday at relatively short notice and found Lesley at Westbeck most helpful from the outset. The reservation process was straightforward, with plenty of advance information to help us to plan and prepare for the holiday. Our arrival at the villa was troublefree, having collected our keys exactly as instructed by Westbeck. Our first sight of the property was memorable - we arrived in beautiful sunshine and were thrilled with all aspects of the villa. The pool area, constantly bathed in sunshine, was where we spent the majority of our week and the girls, aged 8 and 13, couldn't wait to get up each morning to jump in, usually via the great waterslide. There were lots of pool toys available, which encouraged us to add to that collection in order leave them for the benefit of other guests - no need, as we had done, to travel with bulky floats, etc. Our evenings were spent on the terrace, which was beautiful and very comfortably furnished. The whole area was amazingly quiet and relaxing and, although in a street with lots of other fine houses, the tranquility was so welcome. The house was extremely well equipped and was spotlessly clean. We were surprised to receive a mid-week clean, with fresh bedding and towels, and we can only highly commend the staff for looking after us so well. Our sons (one of whom is a sound engineer by profession) were particularly impressed with the quality of the sound system in the property and they thoroughly enjoyed watching sport, etc., on the great TV. The villa, situated in an elevated position and not on a bus route, is a fair distance from the main town of Javea, thus cars are essential. The main town is beautiful - clean, safe and with a lovely waterfront and numerous excellent restaurants. It was good to visit a property which, if anything, looked even better than it did on the website and did "what it said on the tin" - in fact, it offered so much more! We very much wish to return to Casa Delfino in the near future, as it suited us perfectly in every sense of the word. Our thanks to the owner for the property's high standard and to the agents for their invaluable help. A truly great experience and we would have no hesitation in recommending this to fellow travellers.
Stayed with friends and family for a week and what a fantastic time. The pool is magnificent as is the villa and surrounding gardens. So spacious and very very clean. If you are staying in the Javea area this villa should not be missed. We were issued with very good directions from Alicante Airport. Were greeted at Villa and received complimentary wine, milk etc. Well equipped Villa. Would not hesitate to recommend and would certainly holiday ourselves again in this Villa. Had we not a family wedding in Cyprus next year we would book this Villa again.
I would echo very much of the review dated 3 June 2013.
We stayed in Casa Delfino for 10 nights over the Easter period. The villa is spacious and well-equipped including some nice creature comforts such as good hi-fi, satellite TV and wi-fi. The pool is a good size and also has a slide for the kids (including a water spray onto the slide to avoid friction burns). The only downside from our perspective was that the villa location is high up and as a result the pool area was very breezy. At Easter this meant it was rather cold to sunbathe and swim even with the pool heated. Whilst we haven't stayed at the villa over the summer, the breeze may be much more welcome through the hotter summer period.
As the previous review said, the bedrooms are nice and the retractable shutters are very good at keeping the light out so you can keep the early sun out and hopefully keep the kids asleep a little longer - it worked for us!
Whilst it is a little way out of town we have been to Javea 6 or so times and always found that a hire car is a must so whether you are 5 minutes out or 10 minutes out makes little difference to the holiday. The route into town is easy enough from this villa.
As for Javea, it's a great place. Largely uncommercialised despite an obvious large tourist industry. The town hall planning policy does not allow new buildings more than 7 meteres above land level (basically 2 stories) so the area retains its character. There are a small number of 5 or 6 story building around the town but these predate the current planning laws and are only very few. The lifestyle is very relaxed and the local are has a vast range of really nice restaurants. The beaches are fantastic - very large and sandy with plenty of space and the sea stays shallow a long way out so is typically pretty warm and safe.
We had a great week staying at Casa Delfino. For two families of four with younger kids it was an ideal place to stay.
On the upside, the villa is lovely - well-equipped and furnished to a good standard. The covered terrace by the pool was a lovely place to enjoy drinks in the evening and the outside speakers linked to the stereo system were a real bonus (take a 3.5mm cable to hook your iPod into it).
Bedrooms are nice and the villa is fitted with good shutters so you can keep the early sun out and hopefully keep the kids asleep a little longer. The kitchen had everything we needed.
The small downsides: It's quite a way out of town (although in most places in Javea are - a hire car is essential) and there are no restaurants within walking distance so someone always has to be designated driver. The pool area is lovely but the week we went (late May) was very windy and, being at the top of a hill, you really felt it. When the sun was out though it was gorgeous.
Also, for groups like us of two families, it would be good to be given more than one key to the electric gate or for there to be a key safe so we didn't have to coordinate entering and exiting so much.
As for Javea, it's the second time we've been there. It's touristy without being tacky - there's not much in the way of 'Spanish culture' that we saw but it's a great place for an easy family holiday and there's no high-rise horrors or stag/hen parties like Benidorm down the coast. The main beach at Arenal is great. The shallow and calm water makes it a great place for smaller kids to play. We had great meals at La Cocina and Miramar in the port area.
I'd definitely recommend the villa.
First , we had a really great time in this villa. We benefited of a smimming pool , sun and warmth ! The kitchen is well equipped as the rest of the villa. The garden is beautiful and the lounge of outside is really cool and it's practical . Thank you again . Regards
Recently returned from our fourth visit to Casa Delfino and it just gets better every year! An ideal place for a great family holiday, with really spacious accomodation on both levels (this year a much larger balcony to two of the bedrooms has been added) and loads of space outside. Ample room for outdoor dining (including a barbecue) in the beautiful patios and gardens surrounding the house plus a fantastic pool area which is perfect for all the family. Although the villa is in a beautiful and peaceful location, with fabulous views towards spectacular mountain and coastline scenery, it is only 5 or 10 minutes from the restaurants, shops and beaches of the Arenal area of Javea as well as the lovely old town area of the port, with great beach bars and easy (and free!) parking.
Arenal has a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars, all overlooking a lovely sandy beach which is ideal for children, and the whole town of Javea has a classy, relaxed feel about it, totally different from some of the other Spanish resorts. Definitely something for everyone!
Overall, a thoroughly first class villa holiday where you want for nothing and where you will definitely want to revisit year after year.
Unquestionably a 5/5 rating - can't wait to go back!!
We stayed in Casa Delfino for 12 nights and we hat a great time there. The villa ist very spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids and very well equipped. We enjoyed the heated pool almost every day.
The pool area is actually very breezy and I would echo the most of the review dated 4 May 2014.
We would definitely recommend the villa.
The villa is situated in a quiet and peaceful setting overlooking a pine forest towards the end of a cul de sac in the El Cabo area of Javea near to Mar Azul. It is 50m from the viewpoint at La Falzia that overlooks the beautiful island of Portichol and the beach of La Barraca that is only 10 minutes away by car.
Javea boasts beautiful coastlines and is set against the backdrop of the Montgo mountain. The town is divided into three main areas, the historic typical 'Spanish Town', the traditional 'Fishing Port', Marina and clean pebble beach, and the 'Arenal' which is only 15 minutes by car away. The Arenal has a beautiful sandy beach and a promenade offering a wide variety of shops, bars and excellent restaurants. At night there are many market stalls or just relax in the summer bars situated directly on the beach towards the Fishing Port. There are Golf Courses at Javea, Ifach and La Sella.
Other Activities: Go Karting,
Golf: Approximately 12 kms away at Jesus Pobre is the 27-hole course of the Marriott La Sella Golf and Spa Resort. The 9-hole (2x9 for 18) Javea Golf Club is closest about 12 mins away and offers a beautiful and mannicured course. Both courses are challenging and offer great views.. The Club de Golf Ifach near Moiraira towards Calpe is another demanding 9-hole with fabulous views of Ifach.. Other courses include the 18-hole Seve Ballasteros designed Club de Golf Oliva about 25 kms away and just south of Valencia is the famous links course of El Saler.
