The property is just great with a swimming pool located literally in the living room. The resort itself is beautiful with a garden as beautiful as a small botanic garden. The beach is just a few steps away with a scenery that will make instagram lovers happy. Overall an amazing experience and the owners and the staff just complete the perfect picture. Thanks to them for making our holidays a memorable moment!
Thank you again for staying with us and we definitely hope you'll return again next year. Also, please send our warmest regards to your wife.
Holiday at Koh Samui
Our holiday in the duplex was wonderful and everything was fine. We have just one thing to complain: The cleanliness in the bath's could be a little bit better, especially on the walls are a lot of dirt. But the rest of the duplex was clean and we enjoyed our stay very much :).
Really glad to hear that you have enjoyed your holiday with us and most appreciated on your honest feedback regarding the bathroom cleanliness.
I have been in touch with our team and informed them to do a deep cleaning immediately, and I will be following up.
Hope to welcome you and Christian back again next year.
Wonderful stay, group of four
We found the duplex to be as described in the listing. We were a group of four women on holiday and there was ample space to have privacy and to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked where we cooked a few meals and the family restaurant across the street was amazing! Must try the pad Thai! I felt it was the best in the island! Overall, I would stay here again! The beach location was perfect and there was a nice ocean peak view from the top balcony. My only complaint was that the private pool turned our hair a vibrant shade of green! If you have blonde hair do not dip in the water. I mentioned this to staff who reported no one ever had this happen before. Research indicated that copper based algaecide was likely used. A couple hair scrubs in vinegar and baking soda over the remaining week reduced the green but not all. The pool was clean, refreshing and lovely just not for the blonde hair. We all kept our hair up after the first swim experience. I still give the property 5 stars for beach access, location on beautiful Bang Por beach, and amenities. Lastly, Rachel was very helpful in providing details of how to access the property upon arrival which was appreciated.
Lovely open air villa
I loved the overall open air feeling in this villa. My only recommendation would be to have some more kitchen utensils such as a cheese grater and tongs. Some salt and pepper and basic cooking spices would be nice also. We left ours there! We really enjoyed the beach and all of the dogs that greeted us each morning. The beach was very private with only a few people on it at any given time. The grocery store down the street was very handy and the Thai restaurant across from the villa was amazing. The staff at Coconut Laguna were very helpful.
Thank you again for staying with us and taking the time to write us the review!
Really happy to hear that it was enjoyed by all and hope to see you back again.
Great accommodation in a quiet part of the island
We were a family of 4 who visited for 10 days in mid-August 2018. Rachel made immediate contact after we requested a booking. All of our questions were answered at that time and subsequently.
The duplex is located just off the main 4169 road above a row of shops - it forms part of the Coconut Laguna Villas complex. There are six dulpexes in a row. The shops face the road, the duplexes face the beach. There is no real noise from the road or the shops (which are only open during the day). We used the bakery below our duplex for lovely fresh pastries every morning. The duplex is accessed from the terrace behind the building (as are all of the duplex’s). You enter your own door then walk up maybe 15 stairs to the living area. This is also where the pool is located and one of the bedrooms. It’s a 2 minute walk to the truly amazing, quiet beach. Along the way is the communal pool for the complex which we used a few times. On the beach there are loungers and kayaks that can be utilised - which we did most days. The water is very shallow in August and would be great for toddlers (but not swimming).
The duplex has everything you could need - 3 large bedrooms with an en-suite to the main floor room and a shared bathroom plus separate loo to the top floor bedrooms. The top floor terrace has sun loungers and you can see the sea through the palm trees. Our 15 year old and 11 year old loved the private pool. Housekeeping visited daily to clean the living area. The staff were very friendly and would organise or sort anything you asked of them. We ate breakfast and made coffee everyday but didn’t use any of the cooking facilities; everything is there though. There is plenty of parking on the complex.
There are one or two restaurants near the complex but the main drag of beach-front restaurants of Bang Por are a 15 minute walk either on the main road (pavement all the way) or along the beach (which was amazing at night). There is a Family Mart just a 2 minute walk away which is comprehensively stocked. Maenem is 5km away (50 baht each on Songteaw) and Fisherman’s Village is 10km away (500 baht in taxi). As we had a hire car we visited a lot of the island - nothing is more than 30 or 40 minute drive away.
The duplex provided a brilliant base for our family holiday. It’s on a quiet part of the island with easy access to anything and anywhere. I would suggest a hire car is useful unless you are just planning to visit the beach every day.
Thank you so much for your review which we really appreciate you taking the time out to write it! We are really happy to have had you and your family and to know that you all had a great time staying with us.
I hope that we will see you back again and our regards to your family.
Great family villa.
This is an ideal way to just relax and be with family. The location is away from the main tourist areas. There are no local restaurants but a short motorbike ride and you can find everything you need. The kids spent all day in the pool and loved it. The hosts were amazing, they helped in anyway they could to make sure our stay with them went well.
Definitely would book again.
Thank you for your positive feedback and I am happy to hear that you had a great stay with us. We look forward to having you back again.
There are several western and authentic Thai restaurants along the beach within 500 meters on the left or right, and a few restaurants on the road leading to the Coconut Laguna Residence, including a famous seafood restaurant at just 300 meters. You can also order food delivery from the restaurant just outside the Coconut Laguna Residence, which is really good and cheap.
There is a small convenient store which is opened 24/24 at 100 meters (2 mins) by foot for daily necessities like water, sun block, milk, bread etc. A gym at 50 meters and a Muay Thai Boxing School at 100 meters. There is also supermarket at 4.5 kilometers, a few shopping malls and hyper markets at 15 minutes by car. The famous Fisherman's Village (restaurants, bars & shopping) is only 10 minutes away and Chaweng (for the night life) at 20 minutes.
In the night, during certain seasons, an armada of fishing boats light up the horizons over the Gulf of Thailand, as they search for squid, crab, and other delicacies for your dining table.
There are several sightseeing attractions and amusement places in Koh Samui e.g. snorkeling in the unique Angthong National Park, scuba diving, riding quad in the jungle, paintball, go-kart, zoo, crocodile farm, paradise farm, Grandfather/ Grandmother Rocks, Big Buddha, etc and not forgetting the beautiful Santi Buri Championship Golf Course at 2.5 kilometers.
Just alongside the beach you’ll also discover a few nice and cheap massage place.
