Ground floor apartment sleeping 2 + 2. Only 20 metres from car park

The Old Shop apartment is a one bedroom ground floor apartment with a sofa bed in the lounge. With all rooms on the same level, this property is ideal for anyone who prefers not to use stairs.

Situated 200 metres from the harbour and just 20 metres from the car park, this property is ideal for all to explore the region with beaches, cliff-top walks and the Lost Gardens of Heligan only minutes away. Perfectly located in the village, the apartment is just a short level walk to the restaurants and pubs in the narrow cobbled streets, but far out enough from the hustle and bustle to be quieter at night.

The property has been renovated to a high standard with double glazing throughout. There is a well equipped kitchen and the dining area has a table to comfortably seat 4 people. There is a 40 inch TV with DVD player (with lots of DVDs) plus an Xbox (with games) in the lounge and further TV's in the bedroom and dining area. The sofa bed in the lounge (new for 2016) opens out to sleeps 2 children and has a pocket sprung mattress, making a comfortable double bed. The bedroom has a kingsize bed, wardrobe and chests of drawers. The wetroom, with under-floor heating, is equipped with a power shower, toilet and basin. All other rooms have modern electric wall heaters and there is an air-conditioning unit in the lounge.

Weekly rates include electricity, linen and towels. Parking permits are available for the discounted rate of £35 per week. A "disabled" parking space very close to the apartment can be requested (as the car park is privately owned, this is also £35 per week)

Sorry, no pets allowed and this has been our policy since the renovation works were completed.

A travel cot and high-chair are available at no extra cost.

Saturday is our normal changeover day and we operate on a weekly basis.

Stay from 7 to 10 nights arriving between Saturday 17th December 2016 and departing by 10am Tuesday 27th December 2016. Please contact us for further details.

Modern spotlessly clean and comfortable apartment

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. Every modern convenience has been installed.It was extremely comfortable, warm and very close to the harbour and town with parking virtually next to the property. The walk in shower was a bonus and three lovely TVs , one in each room, what a luxury. The orthopaedic bed was the most comfortable we have slept in. Overall a brilliant place.

Nice, clean apartment in a good location

We were very impressed with this apartment. It was the perfect size for the two of us and it was clean and well-maintained. It's located near to the habour which has a selection of nice pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. The owner provided some milk and flowers which was a nice touch. We did a number of walks up and down the coastline and also caught the ferry from the habour to Fowey from where we did more walking. I would certainly recommend the property and the town of Mevagissey.

Fantastic property

The Old Shop is a wonderful holiday cottage and my family and I would highly recommend this property to both families and couples. The standard of accommodation is extremely high, spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly want for a self catering holiday. The location is central and perfect for accessing all Mevagissey has to offer.

Excellent stay at The Old Shop!

Arrived back home on Saturday 17/9/16 after a fantastic week at The Old Shop apartment. Tastefully decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean,it is fully equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and very comfortable - a real home from home. It is conveniently located within walking distance of pubs, shops, restaurants, and the car park sits just across the road. We definitely made the right choice in booking this accommodation and we highly recommend staying there. Loved The Old Shop and loved Mevagissey.

Beautiful apartment

My husband and I spent a lovely week in the Old shop apartment, we couldn't have asked for anywhere better to stay. The apartment was clean, stylish and very comfortable. We were just over the road from the car park (a discounted parking permit was included) which is a real bonus in Mevagissey and only a short walk from the harbour, shops and pubs.The weather we had was great and so the air con unit was very welcome. The communication with the owners John and Kate prior to our arrival was excellent and covered everything that we needed to know, we found them very friendly and welcoming when we met them on the day we arrived.The fresh flowers, tea,coffee, milk and biscuits was a lovely touch. We will definitely be staying again.

The South West of Cornwall has a wide variety of attractions to explore. With it's mild climate Cornwall is home to many gardens and National Trust properties. The Eden Project and the Tall Ships Harbour in Charlestown are both within 10 miles of Mevagissey and Truro with its magnificent cathedral and numerous shops is 20 miles away. Fowey, Gorran Haven and the Roseland Penninsula are also popular local destinations. Walk along rugged coastal paths or long sandy beaches, Cornwall has something for everyone, young or old.

Mevagissey has numerous restaurants and family friendly pubs, often hosting live music. Being small, Mevagissey has escaped the commercialisation of other Cornish seaside destinations and has a selection of interesting independent shops. Having made its wealth from pilchard fishing, Mevagissey once had 9 butchers shops. With its double harbour, Mevagissey is one of only a few working fishing villages left in Cornwall and you can take a pleasure cruise or try mackerel fishing whilst enjoying the glorious views of the Cornish coastline where you may catch a glimpse of seals, dolphins or basking sharks. There is a model railway and free museum within the village along with an activity centre which has a variety of activities. There is also a local scuba-diving club and the Pentewan cycle trail has lots of level stretches through the woods following the river. Towards the end of June Mevagissey celebrates Feast Week, a week of family fun, music, and floral dances through the streets. There is a small beach in the harbour and Portmellon and Pentewan beaches are nearby. New Year's Eve is not to be missed as all the locals are in fancy dress so don't forget your outfit to see in the New Year.
