About Su Bishop
Charmot de Pommard is owned by Peter and Linda who when not resting in Pommard or travelling the world, they will be busy at their home in Vancouver.. Our property is managed by Su and David Bishop owners of Location Burgundy, specialists in the management of holiday home rentals in Puligny- Montrachet, Meursault, Cissey, Pommard and Beaune. Su and David have lived year round in Pommard for more than 15 years and have incomparable knowledge of all services, facilities, and attractions in Beaune and the surrounding wine villages.
Su Bishop purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why Su Bishop chose Pommard
We have always wanted to own a home in France and had spent many years looking in different parts of the country. When we made our first visit to Burgundy in 2013, we knew this was the place we wanted to be and were lucky enough to find our house in the charming wine village of Pommard. The house was derelict and in need of complete renovation which was ideal as it gave us the chance to create a beautiful apartment for ourselves as well as a separate, self-contained apartment for friends and family to visit as well as holiday rentals.
What makes this Apartment unique
Charmot de Pommard is a charming one bedroom, single level apartment located in a 17th century building formerly occupied by a wine merchant. Completely renovated in 2015, Charmot de Pommard offers quiet, modern luxury and comfort only a short distance away from the shops and restaurants of Pommard as well as the beautiful vineyards that surround the village. Limestone floors, oak timbers and stone walls are featured in the apartment along with all the amenities that will make your stay a pleasant one. It is an ideal “pied a terre” for a couple wishing to experience and explore the delights of Burgundy.

Great place for a quiet stay
The apartment was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable. A surprise gift basket awaited us on our arrival. Thanks! We met Peter and Linda (the owners) who were very pleasant and helpful - especially teaching us how to lock the door! Unfortunately, we didn't get to connect with the manager.
Glad that the apartment was to your liking. The welcome pack is a standard offering for Location Burgundy guests to help them settle in.
Sorry we didn't get the chance to catch up this time (although at least it means there were no issues that we were called out for). Hopefully we will meet in the future.
Quality in Burgundy
Thanks for your rating Bob, we hope you enjoyed your stay.
Our stay at Charmots was the highlight of our trip to France and we only wish we could have stayed more than 6 days in this property in the charming village of Pommard. All the amenities were top quality ( except for the TV which had an issue and eventually had to be repaired ) however our intention was not to spend much time watching TV in any event. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful and this older property has been magnificently renovated with any thing you might need to enjoy a comfortable visit. Bonus was that the “Vendanges” were taking place all around us when we stayed. It is close to Beaune so convenient for visits. We had an outstanding vacation, one to remember.
Very many thanks for your kind comments Guy, so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope the TV troubles did not detract from your comfort. You are welcome back any time!
Love this apartment. Very well appointed and perfect for two. Kitchen allows cooking in which is nice. Love location near the vineyards and great comfortable bed.
Very many thanks for your comments Diana. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay just as much the second time around! You are of course welcome back any time!
Charming Flat in Pommard
Charmot de Pommard is a perfectly charming and cozy flat right in the center of the beautiful wine village of Pommard. It has everything needed for a lovely stay in the heart of Burgundy. The flat is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well equipped and includes a Nespresso machine, microwave, and a wide array of kitchen items as well as some essential spices, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. Milk, orange juice, water and a bottle of Crémant de Bourgogne were thoughtfully provided in the fridge upon arrival, making us feel very welcome.
The bedroom and bath are very comfortable, and the bathroom has plenty of space for toiletries, and a lovely “rain” shower head. The heated floors are an especially nice feature!
A lot of attention has been paid to every detail to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable time. Property managers Su and David Bishop, who also developed the property and live there as well, are lovely and very helpful. We highly recommend the Charmot de Pommard and look forward to returning again very soon.
Very many thanks Julie for taking the time and for your lovely comments. We detect you enjoyed your stay!! We hope to see you back in Burgundy in the near future.
Spectacular apartment amidst vineyards of a working Burgundian wine village
This is a lovely one bedroom apartment in the charming village of Pommard. set in the middle of vineyards of pinot noir. When you arrive, you can review pictures of the before and after of the renovation of a shell of a structure into a tasteful, and very functional unit with a great king bed. All of the floors are tile, but in the bathroom it seems to be heated. The location if very quiet as this is a working farming village, though you may not be the only visitors. It is 3 km. from Beaune, a manageable walk, but not something most will want to do every day. There are a few places to eat, but as we were there in late October, little was open. You will need a car. We made the mistake of planning our arrival and departure on Sunday, which I would recommend you avoid unless you have a car before heading to Beuane. Car rental agencies close early on Saturday and are closed on Sunday, as are most everything else. Su, the property manager, was very helpful and always responsive in arranging taxis when we were without our rental car (By the way, we had problems with Hertz, which is a franchise at a BP station and not a Hertz-company outlet. Although we prepaid for our car, we were charged another $240 before the service station manager would release the car to us. He was unpleasant to deal with, on top of that. This is not the first time I have had bad experiences with Hertz and will not use them again., even in the US.) If you arrive by train, you will need to pre-arrange a taxi, even if you have reserved a car and need to get to the rental from the Gare (French for train station,.) Taxis are hard to get. Back to Pommard. We cannot speak highly eough about the quality of finish in the unit. Bath towels were super-plush bath sheets. When we arrived, there was even coffee, milk, OJ, and snacks in addition to a bottle of cremant (Burgandy sparkling wine.) There were even herbs, garlic, olive oil and vinegars in the kitchen as well as salt and pepper! The location is great for getting around Burgundy, as well. Just drive south down valley away from Beaune to enjoy the Cote d'Or (chardonnay country) or toward Dijon for Cote d"Nuit (pinot noir country.) If you can, make reservations at Au Pres du Clocher, just blocks and an easy walk from the apartment. Unquestionably one of the best restaurants we have ever experrienced!
Very many thanks Justin for your positive and informative review. It seems you truly submerged yourself into Burgundy, and had an enjoyable stay. We hope to see you back again in the future.
