A self contained annexe with its own front door. It's peaceful and relaxing in a beautiful part of the world. South Clifton is a small village of roughly 300 inhabitants. It is very quiet, a real get away from it all place, although in a good location to explore the nearby city of Lincoln, or Newark. It's great for walking breaks on the Trent. Stop over for a home from home. It has all the essentials for a self catering stay and there is tea and fresh ground coffee. It might be a good idea to bring some food with you if you plan to stay in, as the nearest shop is about 6 miles away. There is free WiFi although its rural so range is a little limited.
The drive is long and private so you can leave your vehicles safe.
There are restaurants and pubs within a short drive, lots of places to visit and see, or just relax and make use of the barbecue, or try your hand with the built in pizza oven in the garden.
Its a family house where I live with my wife Louise, our two children Nelson (10) and Jemima (8). We have two cats Peanut the ginger one, and Patchy the black and white one who will probably visit you during your stay.
In my other life I am an independent financial adviser, and my wife works with me in our family firm based in Collingham a few miles away.
Neil Gilbourne purchased this barn in 2009
It's peaceful calm and relaxing, with excellent links to some cities. The drive is long and secluded so it's safe
We had a lovely stay here. The old cow shed was lovely, clean and tidy. Just perfect for the two of us. Neil and family were helpful and welcoming. A brilliant start to the new year. Would definitely recommend.
This is a lovely place to stay. Quiet & peaceful. Spotlessly clean. I would recommend it without hesitation.
Lovely clean, comfortable and warm apartment. The owners and family were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated all the little extras (milk, eggs, toiletries, towels etc.) Convenient location for visiting Lincoln and the surrounding area. Had lovely trips to Barnsdale gardens in Rutland, Doddington Hall, Wesley's home in Epworth and pottered around Newark and Southwell. Definitely want to return.
Thank you to Neil and Lou for exceptional accommodation everything was supplied to make our stay more than comfortable. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable, with much attention to detail. We explored nearby areas - very pretty villages and countryside. We took a tour around the awe inspiring Lincoln Cathedral - very knowledgeable and informative guide. We journeyed to Skegness - well what can I say! Not sure we'd go there again! Louth is a very beautiful town with georgian architecture, the church steeple very ornate. On our return journey home we explored Oakham in Rutland the market square and stocks was fabulous and well preserved. All in all our hosts were very welcoming and the accommodation fabulous - would highly recommend a visit. Thank you.
It's in a wonderful part of the world, with great transport links to all the hustle and bustle if you really want
