About the property

The Cowshed Cottage is situated within a scenic plantation setting and although in a rural location, there are neighbours close by providing a secure environment. One of three houses who share the communal swimming pool, the emphasis is on country living in this breezy, peaceful destination. The plantation is now a racehorse and polo pony breeding stud with paddocks for the mares and foals as well as the farmyard animals on the property. The house was built in the traditional style and has been tastefully restored by the owner in a comfortable country style, as befitting the property. The air conditioned master bedroom has a 6' bed, built in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with shower, vanity and WC. Bedroom 2 has a 5' bed, built in wardrobe and air conditioning and also has an ensuite bathroom with shower, vanity and WC. Both the master and bedroom 2 are downstairs and upstairs is another large bedroom with two twin beds which can be made into a 6' king bed as well as an extra twin bed. Built in cupboard, air conditioning and an ensuite bathroom with shower, vanity and WC complete bedroom 2. A large open plan kitchen/living room leads to a covered verandah overlooking the paddocks with a further deck with jacuzzi pool. There is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer with a drying yard behind. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer and stove. There are sun loungers on the verandah of The Yam House as well as around the pool. Satellite TV and internet are provided. There is a weekly maid service and babysitting is available by arrangement. A welcome pack can be provided if requested and airport meet and greet service if required. Reservations for hire car, restaurants, golf, fishing, etc. can be arranged. Use of local gym and tennis, with or without coaching, are close by. Polo lessons and chukkas are available within a short distance of Bromefield and can be arranged to suit. Polo is played at Holders near Holetown and at Apes Hill from November to May and there are many matches involving international visiting teams. Yoga is available at Port St Charles or in Holetown. For those yoga enthusiasts, paddle board yoga is also practised at Port St Charles during the high season between December and April. Horse-racing is in Bridgetown at the historic Garrison Savannah where you can see some of the Bromefield bred runners in action. There are walks on the doorstep through the cane fields which abut the property. In Holetown there are numerous excellent restaurants as well as shopping at The Limegrove Lifestyle Centre and many other stores in the town. The exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel is also in nearby Holetown. St Nicholas Abbey is close by along with the animal flower caves in the north of the island and Harrison's Caves in the centre of island. For children, the Wildlife Reserve is a short distance from Bromefield with the monkey feeding time a favourite. The Atlantis submarine is in Bridgetown for those wishing to have the underwater experience and the east coast is a short drive from Bromefield with the spectacular beaches on the Atlantic side of the island. For those families and friends wishing to holiday together, The Yam House is also available for rental at Bromefield Plantation. I had a wonderful stay at this place..the Cowshed Cottage was exactly what I needed. The staff on hand were delightful and very helpful.

There was everything we needed and it far surpassed our expectations. Beautiful warm sultry evenings out on the verandah...

The perfect place for entertaining.

I have friends and family who want to stay there and I most definitely want to return again soon....

Beautiful Cottage, wonderful location, awesome hosts

The cottage was far more charming than the pictures, it was a joy to stay there. We were relaxed and felt extremely safe and welcome there. Looking forward to staying there again next year.

Wow - What an amazing place!

My family of 4, including 2 older teenage children spent a week at the Cowshed Cottage. It was fantastic! The house layout was even better than expected from pictures. All 3 bedrooms (suites really) are separate from each other. One bedroom was off the livingroom area, one off the kitchen area and one upstairs. Great for having teens who don't want to be too close to you and vice versa. It would also work great for 3 couples. There was a ton of storage space and closet room as well as a safe. There was a landline which I didn't expect but was very practical and the WIFI worked great. The kitchen had everything we needed. Having a dishwasher was a great perk. There was lots of towels, a wash machine and dryer and even a clothes line outside so we didn't clutter up the railings with our wet stuff. A lot of care and thought went into details. There was even food in the fridge for breakfast when we arrived including some wonderful local grapefruit marmalade. The whole home was decorated beautifully, and we loved the back verandah, with the comfy seating area, dining table and jacuzzi. The shared swimming pool was located directly out the front door. The views of the fields and hills were beautiful and we loved being having the horses in the pastures around us. We even saw a troupe of monkeys going across the field one day.

Being on Bromefield Plantation magical. The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. Lush flowering shrubs were everywhere. My teens loved the animals! One evening we had the chance to see a baby foal take its first steps! What a thrill for us all! The people that work at Bromefield plantation were very friendly and helpful. Peter and Kerry in particular. Our rental car wouldn't start the first morning, and we had a snorkel excursion booked. Peter, contacted the rental company for us, and made arrangements for them to come in quick time with a new battery. He also included us the night the foal was born, when I'm sure he was busy enough with the mama and baby. Kerry was also fantastic. He took us on a tour of the plantation and checked on us everyday and see how things were going. Mary-Ann, the owner was a pleasure to communicate with.

wonderful and scenic house with great facilities

This is a Beautiful House set on a wonderful Plantation.

The Property and location is better and more tranquil than the Photos make out.

We booked this house to give us a different taste of Barbados from our normal location further south on the west coast and could not have been happier.

The house is well looked after and has all the amenities that you could want when you don't want to go to restaurants every night.

From the Balcony you can see many horses, Monkeys and birds.

We hope that the property will be available next time we are in Barbados and would stay again without any hesitation.

we must thank the hosts again for there hospitality that they offered to us while we stayed on their property it was really appreciated.

An Unforgettable Experience!

We had the pleasure of being guests of the William's at Bromefield last Christmas and truly had a Barbados experience second to

none. We have visited Barbados over 40 times and for the first time resided away from the beachfront which was a superb change. The home was more than we expected and was the perfect ambience for a family holiday. Any concerns were immediately addressed and our hosts were delightful. We look forward to returning to Bromefield as soon as we can to further our appreciation of Barbados and the William's beautiful property .
