The detached holiday property overlooks the farm and the Otter Valley, and guests can watch the cows in the field, the views across the valley, the wildlife (deer, foxes, herons, buzzards) or curl up in front of a real log fire. For the more energetic the country lanes are very quiet, ideal for cycling and walking. Close by are three of Somerset&rsquo;s Wildlife Trust sites, including Black Rock, Catcott, well known for otters and dragonflies, and Westhay Moor, a mosaic of wetlands, lakes and reed beds, which are alive with hidden wildfowl and fish. Exeter, with its cathedral, shops and canal, is also worth a visit. Exmoor and Dartmoor are nearby, as well as Hestercombe House and Barrington Court. Beach 20 miles.
