Quiet area, good access to the rest of the island
Just 20/25 minutes drive from the airport yet a peaceful and quiet village.
Accommodation - all the basics for a self catering holiday and clean. No a/c though and was warm at night even with windows open and shutters closed. I understand what another customer review meant about the big bed - the mattress is very soft so you feel even warmer as you sink right into it. Easy parking right outside and a lovely garden at the back to sit and have breakfast or a drink in the evening plus a roof terrace with great views towards the sea and countryside.
There is a little shop and bakery just a couple of minutes walk away that stocked essential items, a couple of cafes/restaurants and that is it - great for quiet and relaxation but we also found it really useful to have the hire car to get out and about when we wanted.
There is a small quiet beach (turn right at the marina) 5 minutes from the apartment with woodland walks at the back of it - beautiful. The bay there is very shallow though and although we went swimming and snorkelling, getting out deep enough to do so isn't easy. I would recommend wearing swim shoes (we didn't and our feet got a bit battered and bruised) but worth it as the snorkelling is good - lots of varieties of fish and underwater flora. We much preferred this little local beach - we did go to EsTrenc beach and only stayed about 10 minutes - there were LOTS of people there.
