Beautiful property in the serenity of the Tuscan hills. Property owners are attentive to every detail. We would definitely return to this home over and over. We saw some of the wine harvest, cooked our own meals, and enjoyed the estate wines. Lovely experience.
From the moment we met Anna, the experience was, without a doubt, fabulous. The Villa was even more than we had anticipated. The views from every room - the space for family gatherings and alone time was perfect. Thank you for your gracious hospitality Anna, and we will be back - Promise!!
The villa is absolutely beautiful with spectacular views of Siena, Tuscan hills, and has an authentic charm that can be difficult to find in other locations. The villa is owned and run by an extremely helpful and welcoming family who will be there for assistance at check in/out and for needs accordingly. Villa is just as described, however the beauty and grander are understated, this is a beautiful home.
The family organized a spectacular Sienese chef to come and cook in the home (kitchen is beautiful and huge with great views, pictures do not do it justice) which was a terrific and delicious experience.
In total we were traveling with a group of 10 (one baby) my family (American) and my Italian husband. We all loved the villa and hope to get back for another stay soon.
Spacious and very clean rooms, with beautiful bathrooms and views, with antique touches that come with hundreds of years of tender love and care that the family has given to these homes.
About 10-15 minutes drive into the city center of Siena (short distance, however small and curvy roads) and great location for accessibility to other Tuscan cities and enjoyment. A little paradise in the hills above the unique city of Siena.
Highly recommended and cannot wait to return :)
Grazie mille per tutto e speriamo di tornare presto alla vostra bellissima villa!
Our stay at Villa Montelisi could not have been more wonderful! The villa itself is both elegant and totally comfortable. We cooked most of our meals in the well-appointed kitchen and we slept deeply and well each night in the lovely bedrooms, each of us having a beautiful private bath. When we arrived, Tullio and Paola left us with a beautiful and delicious tray of salami, cheeses, apple and wine. This was perfect after a long day of travel. We sat in the covered patio off the courtyard, overlooking some of the most beautiful landscapes we had ever seen. It is a breathtaking setting. We took walks all over the estate, marveling at the rows of grape vines and olive trees. Our time near Siena was better than we even imagined. Tuscany at its finest! This was the highlight of our trip and we are now home, savoring the memories as we look at the pictures we took. We would strongly recommend this villa and the wonderful Morfini family who owns it!
After five days in the region of the Amalfi Coast four couples arrived at Villa Montelisi. What a wonderful experience and villa to stay in. Close to Siena and surrounding Tuscan towns. The property was as advertised and then some.....such character and views. The owners...Anna, Tullio and Duccio were very helpful and wonderful to us. It was grape harvest season and we were treated to a fantastic property tour and explanation of the wine making process. A very private location, great pool, and well appointed facility. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone or return again ourselves in the future. Very relaxing and quiet.
My family and I arrived at Montelisi after six busy days of traveling to Italy, visiting Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Naples and Rome. A little road weary, Montelisi was the perfect place to call home for the next six days. We had come to Italy to celebrate my 40th wedding anniversary, as well, as my daughter’s 10th wedding anniversary. We brought my grandchildren (aged 5 and 7) and my 24 year old niece, too.
Montelisi was the perfect backdrop and location to enjoy and see the Tuscan views. The location is stunning and the views are simply breathtaking. Chaise lounges and rockers are scattered in the perfect locations to watch a sunrise or sunset or just to sit awhile. The yards are beautiful and well maintained. They are filled with greenery, roses, wildflowers and different herbs grow all over. The patio was one of my favorite spots to sit and savor the richness of the Tuscan scenery. My husband and I even saw a wild pheasant which was a first for us. The villa is also located to give plenty of privacy if that is what you are seeking.
We were welcomed with fresh flowers, fresh fruits and assorted cheeses and bread. Aged 5 years old to 60 years old, we all found our favorite spots inside the villa. The main room is nicely furnished and very welcoming. The kitchen is modern and has most everything available that one would need to prepare a meal. Every day at the villa would find all seven of us gathered around the dining room table to eat, play games or discuss the plans for that particular day. We were also able to wash our clothes and the laundry room has just about anything you may need.
The bedrooms are nicely furnished, very private and comfortable. All of the bathrooms are updated and well kept. I found them very welcoming. We were even provided soaps, shampoos, and toothpaste. Towels and linens are provided. An added bonus is the swimming pool. It’s well kept, very clean and if your family is like mine, you’ll enjoy it very much. The grandkids really enjoyed being able to swim every day.
I can’t think of a more perfect spot to have chosen for my first trip to Italy and Tuscany. The owners are wonderful hosts and we so enjoyed our conversations with them. All of our needs were met and we left very satisfied with our stay. I hope to be lucky enough to visit and stay at Montelisi again soon. It’s some place I’ll never forget and I’m still pinching myself that I was lucky enough to get to call it home for six days. And those sunsets…...
