Let me tell you about this beach beauty at Sterling Shores. First let me give you the “411” on Sterling Shores. When they call a pool a lagoon pool that means “BIG” and this one’s big and a half. It’s 4,300 square feet but that’s only the beginning. They’ve put all kinds of lush tropical plants and trees around the pool. There’s even a kids’ pool right there. But that’s only the start, look beyond the pool and you see what you came for in the first place. Gorgeous white sand beach that looks like sugar and emerald green waters that go on as far as the eye can see.
The great thing about Sterling Shores is that there’s a lot more than just the beach and the pool. There’s a fully equipped fitness room, a movie theater, DVD rentals, a Gas Barbecue grill by the pool, kid’s activities, and a whole lot more.
This place has got it going on right from the time you walk in the door. The entry’s big enough to park your beach toys, flip-flops and golf clubs. And the place is decorated really nicely. I’ve put some pictures in here so you can see. Just look at the dining area. Big table if you want to eat in. (with all the great restaurants you probably won’t) The living area’s really comfortable, too. Look at that entertainment center! It’s got a big TV, with a DVD you can watch your favorite movies if you’re kinda beached out. Or you can surf the internet because we’ve got high speed all over the place here.
The floor to ceiling sliders open out to the balcony. Step out there and you’re not gonna want to come back in. I took a couple of pictures of the pool and the beach. Really something
The MASTER BEDROOM’s got this great big king size bed. It’s a four poster and it’s a beauty. Plus there’s a private bath with a garden tub that’s all yours. The decor is really toned down so that you can relax in this room. It’s got plenty of closet space for all your stuff. You get the full cable package on the TV just like in the living room. You can even surf the web from here.
The SECOND MASTER has a really comfortable queen bed and plenty of space for everything you’ve brought to the beach. TV’s got the cable package too. The bathrooms a little smaller but it’s got everything you need. Surf the web from here too.
The THIRD BEDROOM is a kid-friendly suite with comfortable twin beds and enough area for the kids to get lost for awhile.
The KITCHEN has plenty of room to fix your meals and a diner bar so that you can grab a quick bite without messing up the Dining table
The DINING AREA’s got a nice big table so you can enjoy meals together when you’re not lying on your favorite pool chair down by the pool.
The LAUNDRY area is located to make keeping everyone in clean clothes a breeze.
This place will sleep 8 comfortably. It’s a good size for a couple of couples or a small family.
I have stayed at Sterling Resorts since it was opened - this is by far the WORST condo that we have ever stayed in. It's like the owners want to own a condo but they do not want to maintain it. it was dirty - not dirty like the housekeeping wasn't doing their job, just dirty like neglected - curtains, baseboards, shower tile - nasty and worn. No pot holders, no cookie sheets,- but there are at least 4 cork screws for wine - two back burners on the stove top don't work and all the burners are lopsided and heat unevenly luckily we had friends in 214 (WHICH WAS A BEAUTIFUL, WELL MAINTAINED CONDO) and we were able to use their stove when we all ate meals together the couch sags in the middle - I was told it had just been replaced, it was apparently replaced with a used couch. In the master bedroom the big walk-in closet is used as the owners old furniture storage - old dressers, shelves, etc. littered the whole closet. Beds are worn and uncomfortable - front bedroom has no ceiling fan and because it is so packed with furniture there is no circulation so you can't even use the room because it's so hot. The kitchen drawers are stained and dirty. Also there are about 5 remotes for the living room and NO BATTERIES or backs for any of them - I had to purchase batteries and then figure out which remote belonged to what - same for the master bedroom - I have never had to purchase batteries for a remote - also toilet stopped up at least once a day and the master bathroom sink drained so slow that every time I brushed my teeth I had to plunge and and all the black silt came up until it cleared. I would not recommend this condo to anyone - again, Sterling Shores is a great, great complex and most owners have pride and want to/are able to take care of their property, - these owners clearly just want rental income.
We have been staying at Sterling Shores every summer for the past 8 years. There's not a better resort in Destin. We usually stay on a higher floor but decided to try a lower one this year, so 303 was the one we chose. We were so disappointed in our choice.
1. Price was awesome for this resort. We usually pay a lot more for a rental here.
2. The condo was decent size especially the master bedroom. One of the bedrooms was very small.
3. Beds, couch, and other furniture was comfortable.
5. Beach toys and chairs provided & stored in laundry room.
6. Very nice washer and dryer.
1. Check in was at 4:00; however room was not cleaned. Had to call manager to see why room wasn't ready. We had to wait over an hour while they cleaned the room.
2. Fridge takes over 24 hours to cool items. I was worried that my groceries would ruin. Called manager again & she said this was normal? Items never got really cold & freezer never completely froze our things solid. We kept drinks in a cooler.
3. Several lights had blown bulbs.
4. Cobwebs on light fixtures.
5. Broken dresser and couch bed. Had to use an air mattress.
6. DVD player made a loud noise.
7. No hangers in closets.
8. Stopper in sink would not hold water in the sink. Broken stopper in the bathtub as well.
These all were minor things; however, when you pay a large amount of money to stay in a condo for a week or more, you expect the minor things to be fixed. These minor things add up to be a big inconvenience.
