We were meet outside the apartment upon arrival without a problem. The apartment is as it looks in the photos and is quite comfortable. We also got free internet and free local calls and free international calls to home. The bathroom was great and the kitchen was a good size. The only down size the bed needs a new mattress and new pillows would be reccommended. You are only 10 minute walk to the Louvre and in the other direction 15 minute walk to Galleries La Fayette mall. Train station is only 4 minute walkaway with a choice of two lines and hop on hop off bus is outside the Hard rock cafe at the to of the street. You have a supermarket only a 5 minute walk away and the best bakery just around the corner both at the top of the street and turn to your right. g
Our contact was very welcoming and helpful and spoke very good English. The accommodation was clean and contained all the facilities described on the website. The heating was also good. We did not find it very comfortable though. The sofas were not ones that you could relax on and the one we used as a bed was uncomfortable and noisy. The lighting was also poor apart from in the main bedroom and it was difficult to read. The curtains were not blackout curtains and let in the street lighting, which was annoying as there was a security light right outside the window which shone in. The communal stairwell that led to the apartment was tired and rundown and the stairs steep for small children. One of the spindles also came away from the bannister as my 2 yr old held it to go up the stairs, exposing a sizeable gap. Quite a scary moment! The apartment is probably more suited to a couple, although the problem of the street lighting would still be an issue. The neighbours upstairs were also fairly inconsiderate and would come in very late at night, laughing, joking and talking very loudly.
I received a phonecall to tell me my booking had been cancelled due to my deposit not having gone through. I asked if I could pay over the phone and re-book. I was told I would have to go back on the website to do it and none of my details would have been saved. Great!
