Fui encantado por Apulia

  • 5 of 5

Meravilloso

Muy bien Apulia

  • 5 of 5

Call it magic, call it Apulia!

  • 5 of 5

We knew about the week of our holiday just few days before. I start my research on the net with no hope to find something with such a brief term.

Then I met this agency: patience, great knowledge of their territory and a great love of their region are the ingredients for such a successful work. They guide me towards this house: I had bars, wine bars, rstaurant, supermarket, everything I need in walking distance!

The house was very good, very simple but still so functional.

Well done guys!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed there for just a couple of weeks and feeling better than home: everything was clean and well-kept even better than what I expected.

I've been able not to feel sorry about bad weather because Ilaria show me an alternative way to spend my summer holidays: Locorotondo, Alberobello, Martina Franca and the extraordinary Polignano a Mare have been my favourite ones.

And what can I say of a dinner to Luigi and his Nonna Mena? I enjoyed many meals there thanks to the agreements they have with the staff.

Amazing

Da tenere in considerazione

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

San Vito dei Normanni is a typical village of the Itria valley of about 20,000 residents. The city was born around the 'Castle of Dentex Frasso', known for its square tower. The Castle, which over the centuries has been built around the tower, is a veritable treasure chest of history: the courtyards, the nineteenth-century staircase, ceramic paved salons of Vietri, the frescoed ceilings, the hunting trophies, the paintings, the antique furniture and stone fireplaces Lecce, also retrace only with his eyes all the beauty of this historic manor makes you look like a king! And, in fact, the King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele III stayed here when he was in Brindisi in September 1943!

BEACHES AND OLIVE TREES:

The land is flat and just 9 km from the famous beaches of the 'Oasis of Torre Guaceto' and the sculptures of the ancient olive trees of Serranova village.

OSTUNI: 12 km the nearest touris cityt. Brindisi and its airport is 20 km away.

TO VISIT:

The city is rich in churches, the one which stands out among all is the BASILICA SANTA MARIA OF VICTORIES, a jewel of late sixteenth century. Inside, under a majestic barrel vault, they can admire the altars of polychromatic marble, the splendid organ case with pure gold carvings and the icon of the Holy Mother of God "Nikopeia". This icon was solemnly crowned with tiaras by St. John Paul II and this same beloved Pope has elevated it to 'Pontifical Minor Basilica' in 1998. Today, it is the preferred stage to celebrate marriages. Here, on the square outside, many bars.

San Vito is the city 'of' REZZA '. Stop nearby to watch the entrances of homes covered by 'Rezze', 'strange objects'. There is even the habit of housewives to stay inside their homes, behind the 'rezza', to observe and listen to what's going on out without being observed. In honor to that in August it organizes the 'REZZICA' event two days of big party and actors hide behind the 'REZZE' to judge you for joke and theatrically. A show improvised live.

'CAVES OF SAN BIAGIO' These are three crypts carved into the rock by Byzantine monks almost a thousand years ago, as a residential settlement: the most interesting cave is undoubtedly the central one, since it is completely frescoed with a single cycle of paintings in the south d 'Italy!

The Mandolinistic club in Piazza Municipio. In San Vito dei Normanni the mandolin art is learned in the halls of the barbers. Now the teachers perform in the square clock with mandolin and guitar in an intimate and precious atmosphere. Bring a camera!

ANTIGUA: Every first Sunday of the month: Antique Market inside the Ex Fadda. cultural center, created by the redevelopment of a former winery, from 7 to 20, 1000 square meters available to exhibitors from around the Salento: antique experts, vintage lovers, sellers of used books and comics, traders of modern antiques and leather.

CASTLE OF ALCESTE: little archaeological site outside the town which is the most recent discovery of an ancient messapic settlement. These finds date back to the mid-eighth century. BC, ie at the same age of the founding of Rome. Periodically

this popular museum hosts concerts and cultural events, in addition to guided tours.
