About the property

Modern 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom with stunning sea views, private 12m X 5m pool

Villa Phoebe is a large modern coastal villa, light and airy villa Phoebe offers comfort and stunning sea views to make a perfect summer holiday.

Villa Phoebe is built on two floors and features large French windows ensuring that natural light illuminates the villa from dawn until dusk. The ground floor is an open plan living area and diner with large French windows opening out onto the terrace and pool area. The large lounge has comfy seating for up to 9, a flat screen TV, DVD player and music system. The TV is equipped with Satellite channels including News channels, BBC, Sports, Movie Channels plus more. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the mod cons you will need during your holiday plus there are a couple of cool boxes which you are welcome to use for picnics on the beach. The dining table seats 6-8 comfortably. Just off the lounge is the guest bathroom.

The upper floor is accessed by a wide marble staircase which leads to the three bedrooms. The Master Bedroom with its high ceiling and two French windows leading out onto a furnished balcony is very comfortable and airy with a large double bed, a row of built-in cupboards and a dressing table. The Master Bedroom has a very large en-suite bathroom with separate shower and bath. The balcony has spectacular panoramic views over the pool and out to the gorgeous blue sea and Mikros Gialos beach. The Master Bedroom balcony is a favourite spot in the evenings when all the fishing boat lights twinkle across the water in the bay.

Next to the Master Bedroom is a Twin Bedroom with French windows leading onto a private furnished balcony with superb views of the bay all the way across the water to the islands of Ithaca and Cephalonia. The Twin Bedroom has two single beds that can be made up as a double, a row of built-in cupboards and a large en-suite shower room. The sea views from this bedroom reach all the way into the room and it is possible to have a lazy morning enjoying the beautiful sea views without having to emerge from the bed!

At the back of the villa with its own private paved terrace is the third bedroom which has two single beds that can also be made up as a double, a row of built-in cupboards and dressing table plus an en-suite shower room. The sun shines into this bedroom through the large French windows that lead out onto a lovely little patio decorated with lovely Oleander and Rosemary. This is a gorgeous spot, ideal for reading or just relaxing and taking in the beautiful sea views.

The exterior of villa Phoebe is just as comfortable as the interior. Gorgeous rattan style furniture offers a lovely shaded seating area to relax and read a book or just take in the superb sea views. There are two double seater sofas and two armchairs plus a coffee table under the arches outside the lounge.

Outside the kitchen area there is a large wooden table with six chairs in the shaded area under the arches perfect for breakfast or light lunches at the villa.

We provide 6 teak sun loungers with thick mattresses for your comfort whilst basking in the sun around the pool and there are two large umbrellas should you prefer to be shaded from the afternoon sun. Added to these there are two more sunbeds on the patio outside the twin bedroom on a higher level should you just want peace and quiet and enjoy the views in privacy.

The built BBQ under the wooden pergola is perfect for lunch or dinner at the villa on those occasions when you prefer to eat at home rather than wander down to the lovely bay of Mikros Gialos where there are a number of excellent fish and traditional tavernas. The BBQ area under the pergola has its own table with 6 chairs. We provide charcoal and fire lighters so you don't need to worry about going out to the shops when you decide to have a BBQ.

The 12m X 5m infinity pool with steps leading into it at one end is all one depth at approximately 1.70m deep. Swimming in the infinity pool at villa Phoebe is just amazing as the sea and the water in the pool merges into one and it feels like you are in the sea as you look across the water at the fishing boats bobbing around in the bay. Care must be taken with small children as there is a drop on the infinity side of the pool.

Villa Phoebe is truly one of the most beautiful properties on Lefkas in every respect and it is really a perfect place for a summer holiday.

Villa Phoebe, Mikros Galios

  • 5 of 5

As a group of five we really enjoyed our week here. The infinity pool has a spectacular position, and the view from the villa over the bay is to die for.

We visited the local tavernas, and also had a couple of evenings in Sivota where there is plenty of choice.

Pool access is easy by steps, but if you have young children remember the pool is quite deep.

We would certainly return again.

Another part of beautiful Greece

  • 5 of 5

The most amazing view - walking out to that every day was worth every penny of the rental fee! I don't see how it could be bettered. Lilias kept in contact from our initial enquiry, right through to the end of our stay. The villa was well furnished, very well equipped and spacious too, the only thing I can think to fault would be that the shower in the third en suite wasn't nearly as good as the other two. The beds and pillows were a little on the firm side which was fine for me, but might not be so for others.

The walk to get to the bay and therefore the restaurants was slightly challenging (don't even think about going out in a pair of heels!), so take some footwear suitable for rough terrain! Our meal at the hotel restaurant (San Nicolas) was lovely and in an ideal position right by the sea. Our other favourite was Zolithros - loved by the locals, so you know it's good! We visited the waterfalls in Nidri which was a nice trip and stopped off at Kato Rahoula for lunch which we would highly recommend. When you're in Nidri you can drop in at the butchers to get some meat for a barbeque - we challenged ourselves to make the butcher smile; he wasn't a particularly happy chappy and possibly the least friendly Greek we've ever met (we succeeded)!

I would definitely recommend Villa Phoebe and the end of May/beginning of June has been a perfect time of year for us to experience Greece as the weather has been in the mid to high twenties and it hasn't been too busy anywhere.

Lovely, lovely Greece!

This villa is just amazing. Very comfortable, immaculately clean, well maintained, excellent facilities; we had everything we needed for our holiday. The customer service was great and the tips we received from the manager were great and we managed to enjoy every single day of our holiday and spend time in places that only the locals would know about. It was easy to walk down to the bay in the evening and there are about 5 restaurants to choose from so more than enough for our week's holiday. The best thing about this property has got to be the views which you just don't tire of. Every day was different depending on the light - just incredible. We loved villa Phoebe and will certainly return here. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Best Family Holiday Ever!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Phoebe exceeded all our expectations in every way. We had visited Mikros Gialos before and stayed in one of the villas on the beach but it was a little noisy so this time we chose to stay in villa Phoebe which is within walking distance of the beach and restaurants but far enough away that it remains very quiet even in high season weeks.

The villa itself is amazing and it has everything a family would need for a summer holiday. Very well equipped kitchen, comfy seating in every corner inside and out, lovely thick mattresses on the sunbeds that made those hours basking in the sun very enjoyable! The addition of Wi-Fi and proper Satellite TV channels made everyone happy and in particular the boys who could watch the football in the comfort of the large lounge.

The villa was very clean and the maid visited midweek to change all the linen and towels and cleaned the villa from top to bottom which was just fantastic to come home to after a long day out on the west coast of the island.

I would definitely recommend villa Phoebe to family and friends. It really is a stunning property in an excellent location with the most amazing panoramic sea views.

Stunning views out to sea from private pool!

  • 5 of 5

As two couples hot footing it around the Greek Islands, by week two we were looking for some tranquility and luxury - and we certainly found it! The villa was immaculate, and very well equipped for those self-catering as we were. The majority of our time was spent lounging by the pool, drink in hand, watching the boats sailing into the turquoise bay. The nearest beach is within walking distance, with some excellent local Tavernas. The food is fresh, the wine is cheap - we could not find fault! We shall be returning.

Rouda Bay (Mikros Gialos)
Car: recommended

Mikros Gialos locally known as Rouda Bay is a gorgeous settlement on a beautiful beach. There are several excellent tavernas and fish restaurants, a handful of cafes plus a well stocked mini-market where you can also buy fresh bread each morning. You can reach Mikros Gialos on foot from villa Phoebe as it is only about 600m on a flat road with a little way downhill at the last 100 or so metres so it is perfect if you are going out for an evening meal and prefer not to drive. The bay is perfect for swimming and snorkeling as the water is crystal clear and there are plenty of rocky areas at the sides where you may be lucky enough to see starfish, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers or even an octopus!

Lefkas Town, 30 mins drive, is the main commercial centre. There is a quayside road south of the causeway entrance with a busy marina. The High Street runs through the centre of town and is also known as the ‘Pazari’, this is the main street for shopping and cafes. A mid-morning coffee in the square is ideal for a break and a perfect opportunity to see the Lefkadians in ‘action’! The architecture has been mainly influenced by the Venetians and the post Byzantine traditions but also by the Turkish and the English. The houses in the main part of the town are two storey buildings, very closely packed, without yards or gardens and with narrow alleyways running between them. It is lovely to walk around the back streets of the town where you are also more likely to see the typical Lefkadian houses wrapped in brightly painted corrugated iron.

Geni, 15 mins drive, is a pretty little coastal village on the east coast with an abundance of great fish tavernas located on the water's edge.

Nidri, 15 mins drive, is the primary holiday resort on Lefkas. There are a variety of tavernas, restaurants and cafes here, also a handful of bars and a couple of nightclubs. The majority of shopping and tourist facilities are on the main street. On the seafront, known as the ‘Paralia’, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Pringiponissa islands - amongst which is Scorpios, owned by the Onassis family.

Ag. Nikitas, 40 mins drive, on the north-west tip of the island, is a pretty little village surrounded by fabulous beaches such as Pefkoulia, Kathisma and Kalamitsi. The nucleus of the village has been placed under preservation order, thus maintaining the traditional Ionian ambience.

Syvota Bay, 15 mins drive, is in the south-east at the head of a large bay and has an outstanding natural harbour. Syvota is wonderful for an evening meal with great fish tavernas by the sea.

Vassiliki, 15 mins drive, in the south is a self-contained tourist resort with a full range of facilities. The harbour is lined with restaurants and cafés and the main street has a fair number of shops. Many sailing companies operate from here and you may hire windsurf boards on a daily or hourly basis. Vassiliki has a ferry port operating a service to Cephalonia and Ithaca.

Nidri Beach - Pefkakia

(15 mins drive) A long sandy beach dotted with restaurants and hotels on the outskirts of the town. Very good for children as it is very shallow for a relatively long way in and does not shelve steeply. There are water-sports facilities including paragliding, wakeboarding, water skiing and fun rides.

Kalamitsi Beach

(approx. 1 hr drive). One of the most beautiful beaches on Lefkas. Fine shingle dotted with rock formations and a long stretch of pure white beach. There are two small cafés and not much with regards to sun beds and beach facilities.

Porto Katsiki Beach

(approx. 50 mins drive) Porto Katsiki, the best known beach, is today considered one of the most outstanding in the whole of Europe. This is a beach of exceptional beauty at the most southern tip of the island. A gorgeous shingle beach framed by high limestone cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise water. There are cafes and tavernas at the beach and sunbed facilities on the beach.

Engremni Beach

(approx. 40mins drive). 296 or so, steps lead down to this stunning beach virginal fine shingle beach. One of the top beaches in the Ionian Sea this is a must for visitors to Lefkas island. As with Porto Katsiki it is a gorgeous beach framed by high limestone cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise water.

Motorboat hire is a must as it can open up a realm of uninhabited beaches and coves. The motorboat includes the provision of a map of the boating area, buoyancy aids, flares, oars and anchors. Detailed instructions will also be given for operation and mooring and a full local back-up service is provided. There are many small deserted coves on the coast and excellent snorkeling areas where you can enjoy the local marine life such as Sea Urchins, Sea cucumbers, Red Star Fish and when overturning stones or rocks perhaps you may find Brittle Starfish or even Octopus!
